Mathematician Proves that Francis Lied

Francis' claim that the Francis journalist Javier Martínez-Brocal "coincidentally" was on the scene when he left a Roman record shop which he privately visited on January 11, was analysed by a statistician for LiberoQuotidiano.it (January 16).

The result: The probability for one of Rome's three million residents to encounter Francis in this moment was 0.0009%. There are 200 journalists accredited with the Holy See. The probability that one of them bumped into Francis was 0.000012%.

During the eight years of Francis’ pontificate, the record shop was open 38,400 half-hour periods in total. The probability that one of the vaticanistas was waiting at a taxi station [as Martînez-Brocal claimed] within a radius of few meters to capture a picture of Francis was 0.000000062%.

Therefore, the probability that Bergoglio was lying about Martínez-Brocal, is 99.999999938%. It can be safely assumed that Martínez-Brocal knew and was waiting for Francis. Martínez-Brocal is not only the director of RomeReports.com which hails Francis, but also the author of the Francis’ hagiography “The Pope of Mercy.”

Logically speaking, no. El Francesco qualifed his claim with "coincidentally". The mathematician proved it was an unlikely coincidence -which is NOT the same as proving it was a falsehood (i.e. not a coincidence at all) or a falsehood told deliberately (i.e. not a coincidence and Francis knew otherwise).

None of that staging passes the smell test. What is he trying to do? Was it even him, or a double to "prove" he's still active...at least until he can retire a few more traditional cardinals.

I did not know why they were forcing constraints beyond believability by a thinking person at that time.
