Armagh Archbishop Eamon Martin, Ireland, presided a Midnight Christmas Mass as a show broadcast by state TV RTE.
His performance served as background for a concert consisting of sentimental music with harp and flute, professional opera singers and an Irish-Gaelic guitar version of Silent night. The heart of the show were children dancing during the event in neon-coloured capes.
In his homily, Martin compared the cold stable in Bethlehem with cosy modern Christmas celebrations wondering “how we killed Christmas with kindness.”

The Covid farce is alive and well. Priests are masked (some are not) Singers aren't masked, dancers are. What a travesty. There's nothing wrong with Christmas hymns even Christmas carols BEFORE the Mass while everyone is still arriving. But The Mass is not a variety show complete with a dance ensemble.

It's quite obvious: you had started with killing the Mass, then looked for Christ. Fortunately, He is beyond your reach.
