Dublin Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, Ireland, again attacked an alleged “narrowness and bitterness” of Catholics who, he believes, confuse zeal for the Church with "intolerance," "disrespect" and "bigotry."
Using homosexualist language, Martin preached on August 16 against “ticking boxes of rules.” He said that the Church must be a place where people [= liberals] are "welcomed," "respected" and "cherished" even in "their difference.”
And, “When believers and indeed Church communities become narrow minded and judgemental, they leave people marginalised and unloved with their hope blunted and their dignity broken.” The most marginalised people in the Vatican II Church are the Catholics.
Martin was criticised for participating in an Islamic Eid Celebration and for his opposition to pro-lifers. He also has a history of pro-gay statements.
