The contemplative Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration in Hanceville, Alabama, founded by EWTN’s Mother Angelica (+2016), suffered an Apostolic Visitation in 2010 under Benedict XVI.
Father Maximilian Mary Dean, a former Franciscan of the Immaculate who is now chaplain to the Roman Rite Carmelites of Fairfield, Pennsylvania, spoke about this to LifeSiteNews.com (October 4).
The sisters welcomed the commissioner in 2010 after some internal conflicts.
The commissionar and Fr Dean met accidentally in 2014 and at that occasion she told him that all nuns with inclinations toward the Roman Mass were “sent home” after the Visitation, “They were fine women, but none of them had a vocation,” she added. For Dean this sounded “like a hiss from hell.”
Before the visitation, the monastery had about 45 nuns. Today they are 14.
In 2018, the nuns had to close down a foundations at San Antonio Bishop García-Siller's demand.

Thank you for posting this video - these THUG tactics against traditional contemplative communities of women need to be seen by the whole Church - this is yet one more form of abuse going on at the hands of the Vatican. Thank you for posting this video - these THUG tactics against traditional contemplative communities of women need to be seen by the whole Church - this is yet one more form of abuse going on at the hands of the Vatican. It is real abuse, as much as all the sexual abuse that has gone on for years against members of the flock. And, where oh where, are the diocesan bishops in the USA? Silent again - allowing the abuse to go on by their silence; they are corroborators in this abuse. Our Lord warned St. Faustina that the consequences for destroying HIS contemplative communities would be severe - both for those who did the destruction and for the Church, at large. Rise UP, faithful laity - just say NO - not one more cent to the diocesan bishops in the USA, who are silent and thus co-conspirators in the destruction of the Church's prayer warriors.

The article doesn’t make clear when the commissioner was sent. It could have been any time between 2010 and 2014. My bet is that it was after March 16, 2013. Either way, Rome is trying to destroy the vitality of religious life, by centralizing all authority over it, and making every house, essentially, the same. The article doesn’t make clear when the commissioner was sent. It could have been any time between 2010 and 2014. My bet is that it was after March 16, 2013. Either way, Rome is trying to destroy the vitality of religious life, by centralizing all authority over it, and making every house, essentially, the same. If it’s really true that they imposed a Benedictine on the Poor Clares, that would certainly support this assertion. I remember when the visitation was ongoing, people were thinking there would be consequences for the feminist communities. I never thought anything would be done about them, since they will run out of professed sisters in the near future. My hope was that there would be support and encouragement for the good communities. As it has turned out, that visitation has been turned on its head. Another success for the Conciliar Church. The next success will probably be the suppression of the former Ecclesia Dei communities. The Faith is going underground.
