We cannot pray like Muslims or with them, Cardinal Gerhard Müller said during a May 17 talk in Verona, Italy.
He stressed that Islam denies the Trinity and Christ's Divinity, the core tenets of the Christian faith.
Consequently, Muslims are not God's adopted children by the grace of Christ but only subjects subordinated to a distant god.
Despite Müller's words, all recent popes, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis, have prayed together with Muslims.

Islam is not a religion of redemption. There is no room for the Cross and the Resurrection. Jesus is mentioned, but only as a prophet who prepares for the last prophet, Muhammad. However evidence is that John Paul II and Benedict XVI made distinct Christian God - Holy Trinity and muslim antitrinitarian god while Francis makes (pseudo)Christian and muslim god identical. That is a huge difference weighing on the final judgement as to different prayer object Being.
