"The final message at Fatima was not yet three weeks old. Forty years later, the fantastic picture is this: Communism sits as the absolute lord of the East, with an empire stretching from Berlin to the China Sea, dominating one quarter of the land area of the world, and a third of the world’s people. Zionism, on the Western hand, stands arrogantly astride the remainder of the world’s powers, with every major head-of-state a self-professed defender of Zionism, every major city a Zionist fund-raising headquarters, and every major Western nation in sustained peril of seeing the cream of its youth killed-off to perpetuate the Zionist state in Palestine.
Spectacular as these political considerations are, however, they have been eclipsed in Catholic minds by the horrors which have beset the Church since Fatima. Nothing more pointedly reflects the Jewish inspiration of Communism and Zionism than the vengeance with which they have attacked Our Lord in His Mystical Body.”

The Venerable Matthew Talbot
Matthew Talbot
, TOSF (2 May 1856 – 7 June 1925) was an Irish ascetic revered by many Catholics for his piety, charity and mortification of the flesh.
Talbot was a manual labourer and a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis. The cords and chains discovered on his body when he died suddenly on a Dublin street in 1925 caused him to become famous.
Though not formally recognised as a saint, he has been declared Venerable and is considered a patron of those struggling with alcoholism. He is commemorated on 19 June.
Early life – alcoholism
Talbot was born on 2 May 1856 at 13 Aldborough Court, Dublin, Ireland, the second eldest of twelve children of Charles and Elizabeth Talbot, a poor family in the North Strand area. He was baptized in St. Mary's Pro-Cathedral on 5 May.[5] His father and all but the oldest of his brothers were heavy drinkers. In 1868 Matt left school at the age of twelve and went to work in a wine merchant's store. He very soon …More

‘CULTURAL CORRECTION’: 10 Major Brands Dial Back the LGBTQ Pride

dailysignal.com

10 Companies Dialing Back Pride Month Messaging

Companies have been dialing back their LGBTQ+ Pride messaging since President Donald Trump took office last year, and analysts say that contributes to a less divisive marketplace.
“This is both a market correction and a cultural correction,” Allen Mendenhall, a senior adviser for The Heritage Foundation’s Free Enterprise Initiative, told the Daily Signal. “After years of performative corporate activism, companies are rediscovering that their customers—particularly families—do not want firms serving as vehicles for ideological agendas.”
“Businesses are increasingly rejecting pressure from activist investors and corporate bureaucracies in favor of listening to consumers and respecting longstanding moral and religious convictions,” he added. “Top-down cultural engineering is losing its grip.”
Many companies have adopted Pride messaging as a result of the environmental, social, and governance investing movement. Investors used ESG standards to direct their dollars, and they often …

The State of Affairs at L'Osservatore Romano: During today's Angelus, Pope Leo XIV greeted homeless people present in St Peter's Square who were distributing L'Osservatore di strada, a supplement of L'Osservatore Romano. According to Silere non possum, Andrea Monda, editor-in-chief of L'Osservatore Romano, requested that a greeting to the distributors be included in the Pope's prepared text. Monda attended the Angelus in St Peter's Square. SilereNonPossum.com adds that Monda does not usually go to the office even on days when he is expected to be there, that public interest in L'Osservatore di strada is "non-existent," and that Monda is personally responsible for the costly project out of an "obsession."

Angelus: Pope Leo Reads, Andrea Monda Gets the …
Among the greetings drafted by the Prefecture of the Papal Household for the Pope was one addressed to the homeless people present in St Peter’s Square to distribute L’Osservatore di strada, a supplement to L’Osservatore Romano.
Naturally, the request came from Andrea Monda himself. A man who does not usually go to the office even on the days when he is expected to be there was hardly likely to spend a Sunday in St Peter’s Square beneath the scorching Roman sun of recent days. But having secured confirmation from the Prefecture that the short passage had been inserted into the text prepared for the Pope, Monda could not miss the occasion. He had to be there, he had to be seen, he had to make his presence visible at the very moment Leo XIV spoke about the costly paper. And so there he was in St Peter’s Square, beside a banner that had cost hundreds of euros, waving his arms about in his embarrassing braces to greet the Pope, who, puzzled …More

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 8,23-27.
As Jesus got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
Suddenly a violent storm came up on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by waves; but he was asleep.
They came and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"
He said to them, "Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.
The men were amazed and said, "What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?"

The broom cupboard of sinecures: the nun with an appetite for Czerny’s chair

Vatican City - The Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development is one of the clearest examples of the tendency that has shaped the Roman Curia in recent years: creating vast bureaucratic catch-alls, giving them an almost limitless remit and then calling “reform” what has, in reality, been an enormous administrative mess. Francis’s project was presented as that of a Pope capable of streamlining the machinery and bringing the Curia back to essentials. The result was the exact opposite: offices merged only on paper, new appointments, new chains of command and a proliferation of posts to be handed out and protected. In the Vatican, many are convinced that they can distribute positions, salaries, titles and power. Francis handed out a great many of them.
This became particularly clear when Praedicate Evangelium was promulgated. It was not simply a case of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, many commented within the Leonine walls: this had gone well beyond that. The …

'They killed our daughter': Couple recount heartbreak of losing newborn at Nottingham City Hospital - after damning report finds more than 500 mothers and babies died or were seriously harmed

Picture the scene. A child dies on a climbing frame at school. The headmaster calls their parent, apologising for what they say was a tragic, isolated incident. The school remains open, and everyone carries on as before. It’s unimaginable isn’t it? The school would be closed, the police called, the teachers in charge facing disciplinary action.
Yet this is how
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) behaved after our baby daughter Harriet died at Nottingham City Hospital on April 17 2016, following entirely avoidable mistakes by its medical staff. Any other setting in which a child lost their life when they should have been safe would, surely, have become a crime scene.
Yet ten years on, not a single person has been held accountable for what happened to Harriet. No jobs have been lost. No jail sentences given.
Even worse, of course, we are far from alone.
On Wednesday, senior midwife Donna Ockenden’s 343-page review of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), in …

Vatican Responded "Good Luck" to the Catholic State Idea: Today, Bishop Bernard Fellay FSSPX ordained five priests and three deacons in Écône. During his homily, he claimed "a small incident" witnessed by all the leading figures of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, including the Prefect, the Secretary and the Undersecretary. The FSSPX said that they want to win over individuals but also societies for Christ. The alleged response from the Congregation: "Good luck." Monsignor Fellay comments: "They no longer believe it."

Mgr Fellay reports this highly revealing anecdote about the mindset of the Roman authorities. When the FSSPX tells them that it wants to work to bring souls and societies back to God, these same authorities say to it, "Good luck!" They no longer believe in it!

Book of Amos 3,1-8.4,11-12.
Hear this word, O children of Israel, that the LORD pronounces over you, over the whole family that I brought up from the land of Egypt:
You alone have I favored, more than all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your crimes.
Do two walk together unless they have agreed?
Does a lion roar in the forest when it has no prey? Does a young lion cry out from its den unless it has seized something?
Is a bird brought to earth by a snare when there is no lure for it? Does a snare spring up from the ground without catching anything?
If the trumpet sounds in a city, will the people not be frightened? If evil befalls a city, has not the LORD caused it?
Indeed, the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets.
The lion roars-- who will not be afraid! The Lord GOD speaks-- who will not prophesy!
I brought upon you such upheaval as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah: you were like a brand plucked from the fire …More

ICE Is a Job Killer Everywhere It Goes

June 26, 2026
By Marcela Escobari
Ms. Escobari is a senior fellow and a research vice president in the global economy and development program at the Brookings Institution.
The Trump administration has argued that mass immigration enforcement will free millions of jobs for Americans by reducing competition from foreigners.
The opposite is true. Despite the administration’s claims, a recent study, which I helped write, shows that the crackdown on immigrants has not unlocked jobs for Americans. During the first nine months of 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations led directly to at least 668,000 lost jobs across 86 U.S. metropolitan areas.
The damage is easy to miss in national statistics. Since 2025, the national unemployment rate has hovered between 4.0 and 4.5 percent. But the national rate, with its large margin of error, isn’t a good measure of local employment shocks. It’s more …More

Catholic scholar says classical learning can help renew America

ANN ARBOR, Michigan Catholics should be proud of their contributions to the United States, especially for the intellectual tradition inherited from philosophers, theologians, and saints who contributed to the ideas leading to the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, author and Hillsdale College Professor Matthew Mehan told EWTN News leading up to the 250th anniversary of the nation.
Mehan is associate dean and professor of government studies at Hillsdale College’s Washington, D.C. campus. He holds a doctorate in literature from the University of Dallas and recently authored
The American Book of Fables, a book for all ages that reflects Mehan’s desire to contribute to national renewal.
The fables are set in the American landscape, framed by the Declaration of Independence, and accompanied by historical documents illustrating the country’s history, complexity, and geographical regions.
In interviews with EWTN News, the author and scholar said the book grew out of his …
