Hell: A sermon by St. Robert Bellarmine.
joboww on Oct 19, 2016 A sermon by St. Robert Bellarmine, read by Charles Coulombe. Like a spash of cold water on the face, this is a wake-up call describing our skewed perspective of reality. Despite the enormous stakes of either Heaven or eternal torment, we still choose to serve ourselves over God, for fickle pleasures which don't even truly make us happy. This talk covers the tremendous gravity of sin, the overwhelming happiness in Heaven versus the unthinkable suffering in Hell, the endless NOW of eternity and the despair and rage of the damned.

Venezuela, on the same day of celebrating a false saint, a thing which the church allowed and perhaps encourage (religious differentism), suffered a gigantic earthquake. Thousands are missing and feared dead, THEY... KNEELED, PRAY AND SACRIFICED TO GOD FOR REGIME CHANGE, and months later worship a false saint brought from África.
EARTHQUAKES IN VENEZUELA, JAPAN, PHILIPPINES AND SOME OTHER PARTS OF INDONESIA (volcano eruptions), yet people still think we aren't at the beginning of the end times. Open your eyes and embrace God’s Mercy in His only beloved Son Jesus, the ONLY way to Almighty Father.
My heart breaks for Venezuela, but their idol worshiping has been epic for many years. Rosaries up!

Is Pedro Sánchez the “Number One” in All the Corruption Schemes? – Allah's Willing Executioners

The first of many trials awaiting Pedro Sánchez’ government has taken place. The Supreme Court has sentenced José Luis Ábalos, former Minister of Transport and former Secretary General of the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Party), to 24 years in prison. Ábalos’ sentence is, in any case, a sentence against the entire Sánchez administration. The former minister was Pedro Sánchez’ closest confidant and his greatest ally both in his rise to the leadership of the PSOE and in his ascent to the presidency of the government, which he achieved through a vote of no confidence against Mariano Rajoy. In fact, during that vote of no confidence, which was falsely justified by alleged corruption in the PP (Partido Popular) government, it was Ábalos himself who delivered Pedro Sánchez’ main speech in parliament. Poetic justice: those who came to power by falsely denouncing corruption in the centre-right government will ultimately fall because of their own corruption.
Sánchez’ situation is untenable. …

Cardinal Muller: Push for lay homilies stems from denial of ‘sacramental priesthood’

VATICAN CITY (PerMariam) — Cardinal Gerhard Müller has added his voice to the Vatican’s in opposing a move by the German bishops to have lay people delivering homilies during Mass.
“One cannot arbitrarily divide up priestly powers and outsource them in a functionalist manner,” he warned, “unless one denies the sacramental priesthood altogether in a Protestant manner, subsumes it entirely under the common priesthood of all the faithful, and leaves it merely as a function carried out on behalf of the community.”

Müller’s commentary was published on June 25, two days after the Vatican published news of its own response to the German Bishops’ Conference (DBK) who had sought permission for members of the laity to deliver homilies during Mass. {For full details see the previous report by this correspondent from Tuesday. Cdl. Müller’s full statement is found below.}

Spain's Bishops Appoint Adviser to Socialist Government to Lead Caritas

Worse than Germany: On June 24, the Spanish Bishops' Conference appointed economist Luis Ayala Cañón as the new president of Caritas Spain, the Church's largest charitable organization.
He previously served on the Spanish Government's Advisory Council for Health and Social Services, reports InfoVaticana.com. He was appointed by Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's administration in 2019.
Ayala has also collaborated with left-leaning organizations, including Fundación Alternativas, a think tank widely associated with the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE).
Spain's Socialist government under Sánchez enacted anti-Catholic policies, including legalizing euthanasia, expanding abortion, and advancing gender and homosex legislation.
In its announcement, the Spanish Bishops' Conference made no reference to Ayala's previous government role or political collaborations, highlighting only his academic credentials and expertise in economics and social policy.

James Purnell - who served alongside Burnham as a special adviser in the early days of Tony Blair's government - is expected to be appointed as his Downing Street chief-of-staff.

At 97, Cardinal Ernest Simoni Climbs Medjugorje’s Apparition Hill | Shalom World News
On the eve of the 45th anniversary of the first reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje, Cardinal Ernest Simoni made a remarkable climb up the rocky Apparition Hill, offering a powerful witness to endurance, prayer, and devotion. Despite his advanced age, the Albanian cardinal climbed the hill to honor Our Lady at the site where, according to the testimony of six young people, the first apparitions were reported on June 24, 1981. The site, known as Podbrdo or Apparition Hill, has since become a major pilgrimage destination for millions of faithful pilgrims. Cardinal Simoni’s journey carries special meaning. Before becoming a cardinal, he suffered greatly under Albania’s communist regime, spending 18 years in prison and in forced labor because of his priesthood and faith. Now, decades later, the elderly cardinal climbed the same path followed by countless pilgrims, turning every step into …More

164 dead in Venezuela Earthquakes; Church steps forward to bring hope - Shalom World News
A devastating earthquake struck Venezuela on Wednesday, leaving at least 164 people dead and over 1000 injured after powerful tremors tore through the country’s central region. The twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, were centered near the Montalbán and Morón areas of Carabobo state, causing buildings to collapse and widespread destruction. The violent shaking also damaged several Catholic churches across Caracas, La Guaira, and Valencia, according to reports from priests and parishioners. Among the affected religious sites were La Guaira Seminary, Valencia Cathedral, San José de Ñaraulí Church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in La Hoyada, Caracas Cathedral, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Catia, all of which suffered considerable structural damage. Aldo Maria Valli writes he wanted to believe Leo XIV would turn things around, but now admits it's not going to happen. On the contrary, it's getting worse

"Leo XIV Continues Francis' Program, Empowers Hardened Synodalists"

After the election of Leo XIV, Aldo Maria Valli wanted to believe in the new pope and in the possibility of a change of direction, he admitted on his blog on June 25. Valli was the longtime Vatican correspondent for Italy’s public broadcaster, RAI.
But: “The cold shower (or rather, a whole series of cold showers) quickly woke me from that dream in the form of statements fully in line with the Bergoglian disaster and a succession of ‘peace & love’ initiatives, marked by a shallow humanitarianism completely devoid of references to transcendence, sin, conversion, and the salvation of the soul.”
On the consistory on Friday and Saturday, he writes: “Under Leo XIV, the Church is not merely avoiding any reversal of course; it is enthusiastically reaffirming the synodal model, transforming it into a permanent method of ecclesial governance.”
Valli points to the names of the cardinals (Ryś, Fernández, Brislin, and Grech) chosen to lead the principal sessions. It is, he says, a gathering of …More

St Catherine of Siena vs St Vincent Ferrer—When ‘Obedience’ Produces a Pincer

Il Giovane
February 24, 2026
[…]
There are numerous examples we could present today that would make some of our current opinions on the matter inside the Catholic Church, let’s say, awkward. So do not assume the following is an outlier or even an exception to the pattern. This is what Christ taught would happen, going all the way back, by example, to the very choosing of his apostles.
St Catherine of Siena (1347–80), who is known for never hesitating to rebuke high-ranking clergymen and even the pope, threw her delicate but fiery weight behind Pope Urban VI. Seemingly contrary to her John the Baptist spirit, she once whispered: “Always obey the pastor of the Church, for he is the guide whom Christ has appointed to lead souls to Him.”
Such a quote from one of Catholicism’s greatest models—ignoring her numerous rebukes—undoubtedly provides the finishing touch for one tribe of Catholics in the current argument trending this week. See? the quote seems to say. Obey. Case closed. The …More

Cardinal Müller Criticizes German Bishops' Protestant View on Priesthood

On June 25, Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller commented on the Vatican's rejection of the German bishops' proposal to allow lay preaching during the Eucharist. Key excerpts:
- "One must not separate the Liturgy of the Word from the Eucharistic liturgy by having a layperson preach the first part and an ordained priest celebrate the second."
- "Luther already condemned this as an abuse, accusing priests and bishops of no longer being servants of the Word but mere ritualists."
- "The Council of Trent taught that sacramentally ordained priests were instituted by Christ as ministers of both the Word and the Sacraments."
- "One cannot arbitrarily divide priestly ministry and outsource parts of it without effectively denying the sacramental priesthood in a Protestant sense."
- "Ironically, those who most eagerly invoke Vatican II contradict it on the question of lay preaching during Mass."
- "Germany's perpetual protesters should study the foundations of Catholic theology instead of driving the …More

Santa Maria delle Grazie (Our Lady of Grace) parish in the small Italian town of Casalba has found itself in the media spotlight after a statue of St. Padre Pio appeared to show a tear of blood trickling down its face.
The discovery was made in April, when a parishioner noticed an unusual detail on the face of the saint from Pietrelcina: A reddish tear, resembling blood, appeared to be falling from its left eye.
The news quickly reached the parish priest, Father Girolamo Capuano, who went to the church to verify what had happened and attempt, without success, to clean off the stain. The statue of Padre Pio, which has stood at the entrance of this Italian church for two decades, has been removed for examination in order to determine the origin of the phenomenon.
Speaking to Mediaset Italia’s program Mattino Cinque, Capuano urged prudence and emphasized that bringing the matter to public attention to clarify the facts “does not stem …More
