From Diocese of Corpus Christi At the age of 102, Bishop René Henry Gracida passed away on the morning of May 1, 2026. Bishop Mario Avilés wrote, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bishop Emeritus René Henry Gracida. He served as the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Corpus Christi from 1983 until 1997. We are deeply grateful for his faithful service as our shepherd for 14 years.” Previously, he was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee in Florida (1975–1983) and as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami in Florida (1971–1975). Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on June 9, 1923, Gracida was the second child of Enrique J. Gracida Carrizosa, a Mexican architect and engineer, and Mathilde Derbes, a fifth-generation French American Cajun. His great uncle was a vicar general of a diocese in Mexico. As a teenager, Gracida was fascinated by the Jesuit martyrs portrayed in James Fenimore Cooper’s novel The Last of the Mohicans. During World War …More
Today, Pope Leo XIV has appointed three new U.S. bishops who have expressed criticism of President Donald Trump. Evelio Menjivar-Ayala, 55, currently auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington, is the new bishop of Wheeling-Charleston covering West Virginia. He is a formerly undocumented immigrant who was smuggled into the United States in a car trunk. Furthermore, Leo XIV elevated the prelates Gary Studniewski, 68, and Robert Boxie, 45, as new auxiliary bishops for Washington Archdiocese. Cardinal McElroy of Washington is one of the strongest pro-homosexual infiltrators. He publicly defended Fiducia Supplicans and said U.S. opposition focused on homosexual blessings reflected “enduring animus” toward homosexuals. His Archdiocese of Washington spans Washington, D.C., and surrounding Maryland communities, placing its bishops in regular contact with policymakers, diplomats and national media. With Menjivar, Boxie and Studniewski, Leo XIV has again reinforced a leadership group …More

Being a “critic” of DJT is a good thing….a very good thing. These newly appointed Bishops may have other dire issues but in this area they’re right on target.
The Archdiocesan of Toronto newspaper The Catholic Register on April 30, 2026, posted an open letter written by Morgan Ste. Marie, chair of the Durham Catholic District School Board. A number of schools boards in Ontario have come under government supervision. Some form of governance reform is soon coming. The letter tries to defend the importance of Catholic trustees and what it would mean if the government decoded to get rid of them. Here's Ste. Marie's message followed by our response: After a few months of speculation about school board governance, a decision on the future of school boards is expected soon. Yet one critical question remains: What would happen if we diminished the role of elected school board trustees? Loss of local involvement Elected school trustees serve as vital links between the community and the education system. We communicate, respond and are accountable to parents, students, and local communities, ensuring that the values and needs of those we represent …

Justice Department prosecutors in the Biden administration joked about prosecuting Catholic nuns who attended a pro-Trump rally, according to text messages released by Senator Chuck Grassley and reported by DailyWire.com on April 29. Prosecutor Molly Gaston wrote after viewing a photo of nuns wearing habits at the rally: “I would like to take a special assignment of finding and prosecuting them.” Prosecutor Joseph Cooney replied, “I’m with you,” adding that he would like to prosecute “any nun who still wears the head habit.” Grassley obtained the messages during an investigation into Justice Department conduct and condemned the remarks as evidence of bias against religious Americans. #newsHtiwujinop
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived. She found that pretty snake she’d taken in had been revived. “Take me in, oh tender woman , “Take me in, for heaven’s sake, “Take me in oh tender woman,” sighed the snake. Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried. “But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died.” Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight . But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite. …“I saved you,” cried that woman. “And you've bit me even, why? “You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die.” “Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin, “You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.”
“Your Grace” Prevost maliciously used the name of the Holy Spirit and the name of Christ to endorse the heretical Anglican woman who poses as a bishop. This sin of malice against the Holy Spirit demonstrates that he is a blasphemer and a false prophet. The impostor Robert Prevost, mocking the male priesthood instituted by Christ, began his speech by addressing the heretic Sarah Mullally—disguised as a bishop—: “Your Grace...” Let us recall that the heretical figure of the Anglican sect—the Archbishop of Canterbury—is equivalent to a “synodal pope”: *first among equals*. Primus inter pares. «Primus inter pares The Archbishop of Canterbury holds a unique position as the first among equals within the Anglican Communion. This title, often referred to as "Primus inter pares," signifies that while the Archbishop is formally equal to other bishops, they also possess significant leadership roles and influence within the Communion. The Archbishop serves as an Instrument of Communion, …More
Instead of fostering unity, the heretic—disguised as a bishop—Sarah Mullally (pro-homosexual, pro-abortion) has provoked division within the Anglican sect itself, as she holds positions contrary to the Scriptures. She contradicts the male priesthood instituted by Christ and, furthermore, defends immoral views that openly defy God's natural law, the Commandments, and Jesus Christ Himself.

Wed Apr 29, 2026 - 2:56 pm EDT (LifeSiteNews) — There is a particular kind of sentence that does not require embellishment. It does not need adjectives. It does not benefit from rhetorical inflation. It simply needs to be stated plainly – and then be allowed to do its work: Seventeen babies were born alive in Alberta following labor-induced late-term abortions in 2025 and left to die. That’s it. That’s the sentence. Seventeen. Seventeen babies. Seventeen times. In Alberta. In 2025. Born alive and then? No life-sustaining intervention. No automatic presumption in favor of care. No clear, system-wide requirement that birth triggers a clinical reset. Instead, within the system administered by Alberta Health Services, the response is shaped in advance: a non-interventional pathway, established before the child is even born, and carried through after the child is. This is not a failure of the system; it is how the system is designed to function. If that sounds implausible, it is only …

Carmelite community of Campiégne martyrs to close: The historic Carmelite community of Compiègne, which is now based in Jonquières, France, is closing. The six remaining nuns have announced that they will be leaving due to the ageing nature of the community and a lack of new vocations. Founded in 1641, the community is best known for the sixteen Carmelite martyrs of Compiègne who were executed during the French Revolution in 1794 and canonised by Pope Francis in 2024. The monastery in Jonquières has been home to the community since 1992. The nuns are leaving over the coming months, not all at once.
The six remaining cloistered Carmelite nuns in Jonquières, France, are closing their historic community, ending a 400-year legacy of prayer ... and martyrdom.
