Presentation of Our Lady - November 21st, 2025 | No Greater Delight No Greater Delight is a daily Marian podcast meant to start the day with a Marian touch. After examining the Marian feasts celebrated throughout the world on a given day, Fr. Nate offers a brief reflection to help make our love for Our Lady concrete in daily living. The title "No Greater Delight" is inspired by a homily of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, wherein he expresses his joy in preaching about the Virgin Mother, even though he acknowledges the challenge of adequately praising her. Mary's greatness is beyond words. 0:00 Feasts of Mary Today 05:01 True Devotion to Mary WhatsApp Channel: Catholic Voice | WhatsApp Channel Links: catholicvoice | Instagram, Facebook | Linktree
Our Lady of Quinche Also known as La Pequeñita Virgen de Monte del Sol Virgin of the Rock Memorial 21 November Profile Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the image of a cedar statue in Quinche, Ecuador. About two foot tall, it was carved in 1586 by Don Diego de Robles, an artist who created many other images of Mary. He carved it on order from the Lumbici Indians, who were unable to pay for it at delivery. Diego traded the statue to the Oyacachi Indians in exchange for a large load of cedar for future projects. Legend says that the vision of Our Lady appeared in a cave to some of the Oyacachi, promising to the protect their children; the image Diego brought for trade looked just like the lady in the vision. The Oyacachi asked Diego to stay and help them build a shrine for the statue; he declined and started home. His horse threw him as they crossed a bridge, and Diego was miraculously saved after he had prayed for Our Lady‘s intervention; he understood that this was a …More
Cardinal Gerhard Müller, during a Q&A session at the 2025 Call to Holiness Conference in Michigan with exorcist Father Chad Ripperger, asserted that it is “problematic” and “not pastoral” for bishops to place restrictions on the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM). Müller was responding to a question about why the Church gives the bishops the authority to restrict the celebration of the Mass according to the 1962 missal. The German prelate emphasized that bishops should respect the faithful who continue to be devoted to the TLM because the liturgical renewal proposed at the Second Vatican Council has not been completely successful. Müller further stressed that it’s problematic for bishops, who appear to be more concerned about liturgical uniformity than the unity of the faithful in believing the doctrines of the Church, to restrict the celebration of the ancient Roman rite that nourishes the faith of so many Catholics. His entire answer is viewable in the link below from …
“NOVEMBER 8.-THE FEAST OF THE HOLY RELICS. PROTESTANTISM pretends to regard the veneration which the Church pays to the relics of the Saints as a sin, and contends that this pious practice is a remnant of paganism. The Council of Trent, on the contrary, has decided that the bodies of the martyrs and other saints who were living members of Jesus Christ and temples of the Holy Ghost, are to be honored by the faithful. This decision was based upon the established usage of the earliest days of the Church, and upon the teaching of the Fathers and of the Councils. The Counci1 orders, however, that all abuse of this devotion is to be avoided carefully, and forbids any relics to be exposed which have not been approved by the bishops, and these prelates are recommended to instruct the people faithfully in the teaching of the Church on this subject. While we regret, then, the errors of the impious and of heretics, let us profit by the advantages which we gain by hearkening to the voice of the …More
A new study from the Pew Research Center analyzing survey data from the University of Michigan revealed a conclusion that has many stunned: Twelfth-grade girls are less likely to say they want to get married than 12th-grade boys. I say “many” because I was not surprised in the least — and those who are shocked are clearly unaware of the extent to which ubiquitous violent and degrading internet pornography has transformed the dating landscape for teens today. “The drop in the share of 12th graders who say they want to get married reflects shifting views among girls,” the study states. “Boys are more likely than girls to say they want to get married someday (74% vs. 61%), but this wasn’t always the case. In 1993, a larger share of girls (83%) than boys (76%) said they wanted to get married.” In conclusion, “The share of boys saying this is virtually unchanged over the 30-year period. But the share among girls dropped by 22 percentage points.” As Dr. Brad Wilcox, author of the …
German Bishop Stefan Oster has criticized the pro-LGBT guidelines for Catholic schools published by the German Bishops’ Conference (DBK). In a statement published on his personal website, Oster distanced himself from the DBK’s heterodox document on “sexual diversity” in Catholic schools. “Even though the cover of the brochure says ‘The German Bishops,’ the text does not speak on my behalf,” the Bishop of Passau wrote, distancing himself from “its content and its theological, philosophical, pedagogical, and developmental psychological substance.” For Oster, the document is part of a fundamental struggle over Christian anthropology. “The concept of humankind and the Church as sacraments is up for debate in this discussion,” he stated. He believes that “in its current form, the text produced by the Commission for Religious Education is well on the way to a desacralized understanding of humankind.” He stressed that the Catholic understanding of humanity must not be abandoned, but …
Jesus, remember me… November, 23 2025 Solemnity of Christ the King! Dear brothers and sisters, the passage from the Gospel of Luke that we’re going to listen to on Sunday, November 23, Solemnity of Christ the King, enlightens us on two aspects of his royalty: His "style" of reigning and the "way" with which he exercises his just, even if unfathomable judgment. First of all, concerning the "style", Jesus, the Son of God, is crowned with thorns and his throne is a Cross! He is a Crucified King who, throughout his life, but especially on the Cross, manifests the beauty and unheard purity of God’s love for humanity. A divine love, which is the greatest force of transformation in the universe and which will provoke the greatest mutation, the last leap forward in the history of life in the universe: that is, the Resurrection. (Compare: Benedict XVI, Homily of the Holy Mass on Easter Eve 2006) As for "the judgment", Luke tells us that on Golgotha, together with Jesus, two other condemned men …More
Catholic priest - son of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Monsignor Hugh Benson’s birthday (18 November 1871) inspires a reflection on his life, shaped this year by the publication of the long-awaited Benson Diary (Volumes I–II, 2025), the vast journals of his brother Arthur Christopher (AC) Benson. Edited by Eamon Duffy and Ronald Hyam, these volumes present around one-twelfth of AC’s enormous 180-volume diary (nearly five million words), widely praised as a major contribution to English diaristic literature. AC Benson — Eton housemaster, Master of Magdalen College, prolific writer, and author of the lyrics to “Land of Hope and Glory” — recorded an extraordinary picture of late-Victorian and Edwardian intellectual life. The new edition has been lauded by reviewers, though with one dissent from Sir Vernon Bogdanor, who considers the diaries excessive in their scholarly treatment and little more than refined gossip. The Benson family itself was remarkable. Hugh was the youngest child …More
