On December 14, a solemn Mass according to the ancient Ambrosian Rite was celebrated in the historic Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio in Milan. This extraordinary liturgy followed the 1954 Ambrosian Missal. The Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Francesco Braschi, a long-time celebrant of the Ambrosian Rite, with the approval of the Archdiocese of Milan and the abbot of the basilica.

In an unusually candid interview with IlTempo.it on December 15, Archbishop Georg Gänswein spoke about his relationship with Pope Francis, his reassignment after the death of Benedict XVI, and his role in publishing unpublished sermons of Benedict XVI. Main quotes. Return to Freiburg After Benedict XVI’s Death “As soon as Benedict XVI's funeral was over, Pope Francis decided that I should immediately return to my home diocese of Freiburg. However, in a move that was highly unusual for the secretary of a deceased pontiff, I was not assigned any duties.” “Even some people who were not exactly friends confided to me that this treatment of me had indeed been excessively harsh.” The Request for an Audience With Pope Francis “A year later, on 31st December 2023, on the first anniversary of Benedict XVI's death, I came to Rome to celebrate Mass at the altar of St Peter's Chair and another near his tomb in the Vatican Grottoes.” “It was one of the Memores Domini who advised me to request an …More
Nothing on Amazon Synod and forcing Pope Benedict to retract his signature from the book he co-authored with card Sarah - which happened to save the celibacy? Does jailer Gänswein think we forget the dirty job he did for his boss - the false prophet Bergoglio? Gotta love these crocodile tears over Bergoglio's feint attack on his most loyal servant, Gänswein

I watched that speech when he first made it. Than watched it one or two more times. It was a long speech. I remember in part of his speech he was talking about how one country I won't mention, and how they said that GOD was a woman. Then added But so far they are only thinking about. Then said right after that, GOD Forgive them, for they no not what they do. I cracked up over that. This speech was back in 2022 or 23. I believe.

Existentialism: Fyodor Dostoevsky "The Grand Inquisitor" (Brothers Karamazov) Gregory B. Sadleron May 15, 2012In this lecture, I explore some of the key themes, the character, and the narrative of Fyodor Dostoevsky's "Grand Inquisitor" chapter of The Brothers Karamazov. I focus in particular on different understandings of human happiness, the temptations the Devil gave to Christ in the desert, and the range of human goods, showing how the Inquisitor, and perhaps also Ivan, misunderstood Love and Freedom The Grand Inquisitor is a parable in Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov (1879–1880). It is told by Ivan, who questions the possibility of a personal and benevolent God, to his brother Alyosha, a novice monk. The Grand Inquisitor is an important part of the novel and one of the best-known passages in modern literature because of its ideas about human nature and freedom, and its fundamental ambiguity.

@amuse @amuse LAWFARE: Big Fani might have a heft legal bill coming due as President Trump and his fellow 18 defendants are able to recover their legal fees from her Fulton County office. Georgia’s November 26 dismissal triggered a 2025 state statute allowing Donald Trump to reclaim $5–10 million in fees from Fani Willis’s office after she was disqualified for an improper relationship with a special prosecutor. The Georgia Supreme Court removed her permanently in September, opening the door for all 19 defendants to file similar reimbursement claims. The total cost could dwarf Trump’s alone and stands as a humiliating rebuke of Willis’s partisan prosecution. The blowback is now financial as well as legal.
