Built in 1866, the church was desacralised in 1999 and has been fully closed since 2004. For many years, the building was at risk of demolition or being turned into office space, despite interest from the Priestly Fraternity of St Pius X. It will now be restored through a project led by the City of Lyon and the company Carré d’Or. Work is expected to start in 2026, with an investment of nearly €5 million.
