Francis Retires One Of The Best Bishops in Europe
Francis has quickly accepted the resignation of Vaduz Archbishop Wolfgang Haas, 75, Liechtenstein, on September 20. He appointed Bishop Benno Elbs of the neighbouring Feldkirch Diocese, Austria, as apostolic administrator.
Haas has been a rock of the Catholic Faith. Born in Vaduz on 7 August 1948, he was appointed Bishop of Chur, Switzerland, in 1988. After massive media attacks, John Paul II capitulated, and created Vaduz Archdiocese in 1997 (30k Catholics) to get rid of him.
Vaduz became a refuge for excellent priestly vocations.
For several years, Haas has been celebrating the Chrism Mass according to the Roman Rite. He has also ordained many priests for the Priestly Fraternity of St Peter.
In 2021, he announced that Vaduz Archdiocese will not participate in the "synodal process."
Vaduz will now be governed by the anti-Catholic Elbs, a supporter of homosex "blessings" and adulterer Communion. Most recently, on September 16, he repeated that artificial contraception was [allegedly] a matter of private choice and insisted that abortion should not be punished.
