Archbishop Suggests: Why Don't Some Bishops Simply Become Protestants?

Embarrassingly, Aquila has to tell McElroy that the Church invites people "to leave their sin," that Christ's offer "is better" than what the world offers, and that grace is "sufficient to free anyone from the slavery of sin.”
By contrast, McElroy’s diatribe portrayed the Church as an "institution that harms" because of its alleged inability to "welcome" every unrepentant sinner. McElroy didn't exclude red, brown and green socialists nor paedophiles and child murderers.
Again, Aquila must explain to him that Christ made demands on his disciples while the presentation "given by some bishops" [= McElroy] sadly fails to preach the Gospel and obscures the Father's love for the sinner.
The declining attendance in the [Novus Ordo] Church reflects for Aquila Christ's promise that we will wither if we do not stay attached to him (Jn 15).
“I must admit that if I thought the way some of my brothers [= McElroy] think, I would have left the Church long ago and joined another Christian community.”
