Bishop Vásquez took the action pursuant to the requirements of Traditionis Custodes and its rescript from February 2023. The bishop's letter informed us the last day for a Traditional Latin Mass will be March 19, the feast of the namesake and patron of the Saint Joseph Latin Mass Society. It’s a fitting day. We will say thank you to Saint Joseph for his patronage and we will ask for his continued guidance and advocacy.
The TLM has been offered in Austin since Advent of 1988 and at the Cathedral since the Spring of 2007.
This has been a tremendously painful blow. The Latin Mass community at the cathedral succeeded in integrating with the wider cathedral parish. We provided a great counterexample to the "standoffish Trad" stereotype. This effort makes the action even more painful; we lose not only the liturgy we love, but our parish family.
Cruelty was not the intention, but cruelty is the effect. We remind ourselves this is Christ's Church, not ours. The cathedral is led by good, holy …More

The laity of this "Latin Mass" community [I loathe the term, better - Catholics] might want to propose an open, on line, live discussion of Traditionis Custodes, it's merits, its shortcomings, in light of this action. It might bear fruit. They also might want to read Whittaker Chambers "Witness" as a primer.

Point taken, though I should think the indult would be exposed as "pious error" in the course of said conversation... no?

I'd treat with contempt anyone or anything that tried to take away my God given right to attend Holy Mass as God intended ( traditionally)
Those who try to destroy the traditional Mass are puppets of Satan.

Therefore, no one whosoever is permitted to alter this notice of Our permission, statute, ordinance, command, precept, grant, indult, declaration, will, decree, and prohibition. Should know that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul.

I am curious as to know how the wrath of Almighty God and the Apostles Sts. Peter and Paul will manifest itself.

Ja, der Teufel hasst das traditionelle Hl Messopfer.........und Bergoglio auch.
A travesty! These are 'bishops' with no Faith nor courage, which are the indispensable virtues to be any sort of "Cleric" of any scale. These "so obedient" bishops have unmasked themselves, to show their real (non) charismas. None of them stands up against the 'dictatorship, relativist commands of that anti-Catholic Church criminal gang that is running the Vatican, today! What a travesty, I repeat. …More

Jesus did say: " But when the Son of Man returns, will He still find the Faith on earth?" (not in the aging, obedient comfort loving Bishops, obviously..who don't want to lose their pension!)

We provided a great counterexample to the "standoffish Trad" stereotype.
Yep: appeasing the post-Conciliar counterfeit church achieves - every time - actually what it achieved for you. Bupkis.More
