Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City was elected president of the US bishops' conference on Tuesday. This was widely expected given his role as conference secretary and his long-standing membership of various committees. Coakley won by only 128 to 109 votes over Bishop Daniel Flores of Brownsville, Texas. The surprise was how close Flores came to Coakley. Both Coakley and Flores, who serves a border diocese, are champions for illegal immigrants. On 12 November, OSVNews.com asked Archbishop Coakley, the newly elected president, about his support for the former US nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Viganò, in a 2018 letter. Monsignor Coakley replied: “I didn’t know Archbishop Viganò other than what I knew of him from walking these halls here at bishops’ meetings. He was always a gentleman, he was always supportive, he always showed an interest in how things are going in our dioceses. My comments when he was initially being criticized, and allegations being leveled against him, were meant to …More
HustleBitch @HustleBitch_ 25,000 BARRELS OF “FOREVER POISON” FOUND LEAKING INTO CALIFORNIA’S OCEAN “Twelve miles off Catalina Island… all these barrels just sitting on the ocean floor.” “What’s in them?” scientists asked. The answer: DDT, a pesticide so toxic it’s been banned for 50 years. They thought there were 50 barrels. They found 25,000 of them leaking poison across a stretch of seafloor larger than San Francisco. Sea lions riddled with cancer. Fish contaminated. The Pacific bleeding chemicals that never die. Montrose Chemical dumped thousands of barrels a month and some workers even poked holes in them so they’d sink faster. Seventy years later, the barrels are breaking open. And everyone acted like they didn’t know. How long have they known and said nothing?
November 14 - Saint Nicholas Tavelic, O.F.M., and companions.
November 14 Saint Nicholas Tavelic, O.F.M., and companions. Nicholas Tavelic, O.F.M. and companions (Croatian: Nikola Tavelić) were a group of Friars Minor and missionaries who died a martyr's death in Jerusalem on November 14, 1391, under the leadership of Tavelic, a Croatian friar. The four have been declared saints by the Catholic Church, making Tavelic the first Croatian saint. Most sources mention Šibenik as Tavelic's birthplace, but another possible location is Velim near Stankovci. In 1365, Tavelic became a friar in Bribir, the seat of the Šubić, a powerful Croatian noble family. Tavelic was among 60 friars from various Franciscan provinces who answered an appeal by the Bosnianguardian, motivated by a papal bull, Prae cunctis, issued in 1291 by Pope Nicholas IV, himself a Friar Minor, to work as missionaries in Bosnia, combating the perceived heresies of the Bosnian Church. Tavelic spread Catholicism around Bosnia for 12 years. In his report to the pope, the …More
Officials in Florida quietly launched a secret project, pouring millions into a last-ditch effort. They sent hundreds of robotic rabbits into the heart of the Everglades. Each machine was built to mimic a live rabbit, from its body heat to its unique scent, all to trap the pythons that have destroyed the ecosystem. But the swamp doesn't follow human rules. The robots worked... too well. They didn't just find the pythons. They found something else. And what happened next is, frankly, insane. Florida Released Robotic Rabbits to Kill Pythons — What Happened Next Is INSANE

Communiqué on the Doctrinal Note or the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Mater Populi fidelis, 4th November 2025. On 4 November, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith issued a “Doctrinal Note on Some Marian Titles Regarding Mary’s Cooperation in the Work of Salvation”. This text, whose apparent concern is not to “obscure Christ’s unique salvific mediation”, teaches that “it is always inappropriate to use the title ‘Co-redemptrix’ to define Mary’s cooperation”, and that “special prudence is required when applying the term ‘Mediatrix’ to Mary”. Caricaturing—in order to distance itself from—the traditional terminology of the Church, and moreover prolix in beautiful considerations on the maternal role of the Virgin, this “Note” seeks to minimise the role entrusted by God to His Associate in the work of Redemption and the salvation of souls: on the one hand, it asserts that the Blessed Virgin Mary did not intervene in the acquisition of grace; on the other, her …More
George @BehizyTweets Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum just said fighting a war against drug cartels is unlawful because it would violate the rights of drug traffickers and it would be "fascist." "Returning to the war against the narco is not an option. First, because it is outside the framework of the law." "I said or have said on several occasions, it is permission to kill without any trial." She must be drinking from the same cup as Kamala Harris because what the heck is she saying?

During the meeting of the U.S. bishops’ conference on 12 November, retired Bishop Joseph Strickland rose to speak. He urged the prelates to respond to a recent homosexual scandal, noting that a U.S. news anchor in a same-sex “marriage” had been received into the Church and had received the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Communion on 8 November. “It just needs to be addressed. Father James Martin is involved once again,” he said. Monsignor Strickland also remarked that in the “great pictures” of the liturgy, everyone involved is smiling. “We need to address this issue,” he repeated. Following his intervention, the panel offered no reaction or response.

Leo XIV takes control over the management of the Fabbrica di San Pietro and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore by nullifying most of the administrative changes introduced by his predecessor Francesco with a motu proprio from June 2024 for San Pietro, and another from March this year for Santa Maria Maggiore. This latter act was signed by Gemelli a month before his death. Pope Prevost intervened after listening to experts, taking notes, and consulting internally with the Secretariat for the Economy, thus signing a new motu proprio titled 'Regarding the Applicable Norms for the Fabbrica di San Pietro' which sets a real shift for two important curial realities that have recently been at the center of murmurs and protests for excessive autonomy… …The Fabbrica is very crucial because it handles the contracts for the necessary works for the construction and artistic realization of the largest basilica in the world, as well as all the related structures. In 2022, after a brief period of …More
