Leo XIV Brings Financial Watchdog Under Direct Papal Control

Leo XIV has overhauled the Vatican's financial watchdog, replacing its long-standing board-led structure with a director appointed directly by the pope.
The reform, contained in a chirograph published June 30, introduces a new statute for the Authority for Financial Supervision and Information (ASIF). This body is responsible for combating money laundering and supervising the Vatican's financial system.
The biggest change is institutional.
Until now, ASIF was governed by a president and board - a model resembling those used by many central banks and independent financial regulators.
The new statute abolishes that structure. Instead, ASIF will be headed by a director, assisted by a deputy director, both appointed by the pope for five-year terms. The authority's annual report and budget will also be submitted directly to the Council for the Economy.
The statute replaces the previous board with a single papally appointed leadership, a governance model that more closely resembles that of …More

POPE LEO HIDES RATZINGER’S SECRET FROM FR. DAVIDE PAGLIARANI: AG 7 IS ALIGNED WITH EENS AND LG 16 IS NOT AN EXPLICIT EXCEPTION FOR AG7 AND EENS. VATICAN COUNCIL II IS ECCLESIOCENTRIC

POPE LEO HIDES RATZINGER’S SECRET FROM FR. DAVIDE PAGLIARANI: AG 7 IS ALIGNED WITH EENS AND LG 16 IS NOT AN EXPLICIT EXCEPTION FOR AG7 AND EENS. VATICAN COUNCIL II IS ECCLESIOCENTRIC
Pope Leo did not give out the Ratzinger Secret to Fr.Davide Pagliarani. It is: Ad Gentes 7 is aligned with the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (Council of Florence 1442) while LG 8, 14, 16 etc are not objective exceptions for EENS or AG 7. Vatican Council II is traditional and not liberal.
Vatican Council II is aligned with the traditionalists. Pope Leo is in schism with LG 16 projected as a visible exception for EENS and AG 7. This is irrational. It is not tradition. It is not part of the deposit of the faith. It is not magisterial and apostolic. We now know that it is now Vatican Council II, which says outside the Church there is no salvation (AG 7). AG 7 is placed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church under the tile outside the Church no Salvation. (846). This was Ratzinger’s Secret. The …More

It is worthwhile to reflect on the present tense aspect of this statement. God forgives us. Do we forgive ourselves?

"Our work is not about creating a parallel institution in which everything is the way we want it, but improving what is going on in the mainstream, above all making the Traditional Mass available to as many Catholics as possible. I note this because of the very different attitude of Fr Davide Pagliarani, the Superior General of the Society of St Pius X."

Why the Latin Mass Society does not support the SSPX consecrations

At the Latin Mass Society’s recent Annual General Meeting, I felt obliged to address the question, frequently put to us on social media, of why we do not support the Society of St Pius X and the episcopal consecrations they plan for July 1.
I explained that the work of the LMS depends on two conditions: first, not being absorbed by the official ecclesial establishment, and second, not being outside the Church. This is a delicate situation for us to maintain, and it is not for me to judge anyone who has chosen a different path. Nevertheless, it is the LMS’s historic position – and it has borne fruit. What follows is a lightly edited extract from my address to the AGM.

Very good point. The SSPX's position is not about the Latin Mass. It was founded to preserve and pass on the Apostolic Faith. The Latin Mass can exist along side Fiducia Supplicans, Amoris Letitia, etc. The Apostolic Faith cannot.

«Tearing the seamless tunic of Christ is a sin of extreme gravity» This statement from the Pope to the Society of Saint Pius X is very well put. The problem is that the seamless tunic of Christ has been TORN for a long time with the Church's approval.

FSSPX "Liturgical" Reply for Lacking an Apostolic Mandate: Asked about the Apostolic Mandate in the liturgical rite of the Episcopal Consecrations, a notary of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) read a declaration: “It is the Catholic and Roman Church, which has always been faithful to the traditions received from the Apostles, that, in entirely exceptional circumstances, demands that we uphold these traditions — the Deposit of Faith — and transmit them faithfully to all men for the salvation of their souls. From the Second Vatican Council to the present day, church authorities have been acting contrary to the faith and against holy tradition. They will no longer tolerate sound doctrine.”

When asked about the Apostolic Mandate for the Episcopal Consecrations, they justify why they will proceed without it.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò: Diligis me?

Jun 29, 2026
Si diligis me, pasce oves meas. Non enim pascit oves qui non diligit Christum. Mercenarius est qui non diligit, sed suum quærit, non quæ Jesu Christi.
If you love me, feed my sheep. For he who does not love Christ does not feed the sheep. He is a hireling who does not love, but seeks his own interest, not that of Jesus Christ.
Saint Augustine of Hippo
On today’s Solemnity of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the Holy Church places before us the awesome mystery of the mandate entrusted by Our Lord to the Prince of the Apostles. To make amends for the threefold denial in the Praetorium, He asks Simon Peter for a threefold profession of love after appearing to the disciples on the Sea of Tiberias. Do you love me? Feed my lambs, feed my sheep (Jn 21:15–19). It is upon these words of the Master—together with those spoken at Caesarea Philippi, “You are Peter” (Mt 16:17–18)—that the Catholic Papacy is founded.
The Lord builds His Church upon Peter, commanding him to tend …More

Feeling the pain of the Orthodox. Who simply wanted administrative authority over consecrations as defined in the Council of Niceae. Before any of the breaches over theology, real or imagined.

Burning Crosses at a Polish Festival: On 26 June, during the Bangarang heavy metal festival in Chwałkowo, Poland, a stage performance included the burning of wooden crosses. A firefighter stood by for fire safety. Local politicians and officials condemned the act as blasphemous and disrespectful of religious feeling.

A firefighter stood by for fire safety. Local politicians and officials condemned the act as blasphemous and disrespectful of religious feeling.
And yet it was still allowed. Even with a firefighter to make sure it doesn't get out of control. Their only real concern. A lot of people get away with this sort of thing in Poland like Blaspheming against Catholics and GOD. Very few are even fined. Then below we have this mess in Poland. No wonder they don't stop burning of crosses and filthy plays. You will never see this in Russia! It's a crime, and a serious crime to attack any religion in Russia. They won't pretend to be outraged. THEY WILL BE! And off to jail you go! Freedom of religion is one thing they take very seriously. They got caught in their own laws trying to ban freemasons. But working on how to change it without hurting others. That will be one huge challenge they have on their hands. Thankfully there isn't many at all. About 1.000 +. This is why many hate Russia. She destroys …More

Archbishop Lefebvre's 1988 Episcopal Consecrations sermon

June 30, 1988
Your Excellency, dear Bishop de Castro Mayer, my most dear friends, my dear brethren,
Behold, here we are gathered for a ceremony, which is certainly historic. Let me, first of all, give you some information.
The first might surprise you a little, as it did me. Yesterday evening, a visitor came, sent from the nunciature in Berne, with an envelope containing an appeal from our Holy Father the Pope, who was putting at my disposal a car which was supposed to take me to Rome yesterday evening, so that I would not be able to perform these consecrations today. I was told neither for what reason, nor where I had to go! I leave you to judge for yourselves the timeliness and wisdom of such a request.
I went to Rome for many, many days during the past year, even for weeks; the Holy Father did not invite me to come and see him. I would certainly have been glad to see him if some agreement would have been finalized. So here you have the information. I give it to you simply, as I myself …More

Pope Leo appoints administrator for UK diocese after bishop charged with rape of minor – Allah's Willing Executioners

Bishop Richard Moth, Screengrab youtube
Pope Leo XIV named Archbishop Richard Moth as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Northampton after its ordinary, Bishop David James Oakley, was charged with two counts of sexually assaulting a minor earlier this month.
On June 30, Pope Leo appointed Archbishop Moth, who currently serves as the archbishop of Westminster and the head of the Church in England and Wales, to temporarily lead the Diocese of Northampton as Bishop Oakley faces criminal charges. On June 24, Oakley, 70, was charged with two counts of rape of a girl under age 16 after being arrested last fall.
“I am humbled by the trust which His Holiness Pope Leo XIV has placed in me by assigning me this mission as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Northampton, in addition to my ministry as the Archbishop of Westminster,” Moth said in a statement after the appointment.
“I ask those whom I am called to serve to pray for me, that the Lord will continue to give me His …

Consistory: Cardinal Burke Questioned Synod's Direction on Homosexuality

Cardinal Raymond Burke criticized at the consistory the pro-homosexual Final Report of the Synod’s Study Group No. 9. AdVaticanum.com reports (June 29) that he focused on its call to privilege the "experiences" of homosexuals.
Cardinal Burke described the report as manifesting “the very grave difficulty with the current direction and functioning of the Synod” and stressed that it carries weight as official synodal material.
He added that, by invoking a “paradigm shift,” the report takes a path divergent from the Church’s perennial moral teaching on the homosexual condition and corresponding acts.
Furthermore, the Cardinal defended the Courage apostolate supporting chastity. He criticized the report for slandering such efforts and validating agendas “in open opposition to the traditional moral doctrine of the Church.”
He concluded by invoking St John Paul II’s Veritatis Splendor in defence of immutable moral norms.
