In 1987, a seminarian wrote an anonymous satire of modernism, "A Modern Seminarian’s Dictionary". The satire passed around until Fr. Paul Mankowski shared it with Cdl. Ratzinger, who laughed at the definition of someone who was “PRE VATICAN II”: “A person who accepts at face value the teaching of the Church and who reads the documents of the Second Vatican Council without reference to a commentary.” That seminarian was Fr. Jerry Pokorsky, who has just republished his satire under his own name.
By Fr. Jerry Pokorsky ( bio - articles - email ) | May 11, 2026 Among the joys of entering the twilight years of one’s priesthood is the memory of looking back on the “Spirit of Vatican II” in the decades that followed the Council. Except for important pockets of Catholic sanity, the seminary (back in those days) was mostly doctrinally dissident. I recently remembered (and rediscovered) a piece that I wrote in 1987 as a seminarian. It was published in September of that year, in Fidelity magazine, without attribution. The revised version that appears below is appearing for the first time under my name. Ambrose Bierce’s famous The Devil’s Dictionary was the near occasion of sin. Most credit, however, goes to a seminary professor who taught us to enter the minds of so-called liberation (read, “Marxist”) theologians rather than imposing our misconceptions on their words. So, for example, when they used the word “salvation,” they didn’t mean “heavenly glory.” They meant the “…

There are secret homosex parties involving priests inside parish houses and other church-owned properties in the Diocese of Porto, Portugal, reports CmJornal.pt on May 8. The gatherings were organized through a homosexual dating app, with locations and access codes later shared via WhatsApp. The meetings took place in motels but also inside church-owned buildings and parish houses. Participants reportedly had the option of arriving masked or openly revealing their identities. The whistleblower identified as “Joaquim”. He has attended several of the events and later filed a complaint with Portugal’s Judicial Police. Joaquim described scenes of heavy sexual activity lasting until dawn: “Many priests come wearing masks, but during the night they take them off,” he told the newspaper. "Can't Send Nudes Right Now. Have to Celebrate the Eucharist" He also mentioned widespread alcohol and drug consumption, including marijuana and “poppers.” While speaking with journalists, Joaquim messaged …More

Britain’s newly appointed ambassador to the Holy See has voiced strong support for LGBT Pride activism during her time as British Consul General in San Francisco
The UK government announced on May 11 that Tarandip “Tammy” Kaur Sandhu will become Britain’s next ambassador to the Holy See later this year. Sandhu, who most recently served as British consul general in San Francisco, became a prominent public supporter of homosexual activism. At LGBT History Month events in San Francisco, Sandhu described herself as an “ally” and said alleged harassment of transvestites has to stop She also praised “hard-won LGBTQ+ rights” and highlighted Britain’s participation in San Francisco Pride. In another Pride message, Sandhu wrote that the UK “shows up for LGBT rights — at home and around the world,” adding: “Visibility matters. Safety matters. Love matters.” Sandhu appears to come from a Sikh Punjabi background, although she does not have publicly discussed her religion. #newsRezejmjqzy
At least 16 prominent self-described Catholic colleges are hosting LGBTQ-affirming “Lavender Graduations” this spring, contradicting Church teaching on human sexuality and the mission of Catholic education.
Indian-born Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue published today the Vatican’s annual message for the pagan feast of Vesak, which commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha. The text includes writings of Buddha and quotations from Buddhist texts and combines that with passages from the Gospel. “This momentous festival,” the message states, “serves as an invitation to renew the path of wisdom, compassion, and peace.” The document also praises Buddhist teaching, stating: "The sayings of the Buddha offer an insightful path. The Buddha teaches: 'Hatred is never appeased by hatred; by non-hatred alone is hatred appeased.'" #newsAhaxllpwzl
Right. Vatican II had nice things to say about the Buddhists, too. On the other hand, our Lord said to the Jews, "If you do not say that I am He, you will die in your sins." A frightening thought. Will the current Vatican ever say that?
“Courage has suffered calumny and detraction before, but usually from secular outlets. It is a great sadness and an additional wound to our members to have this false and unjust depiction in a Vatican document.”
Catholic ministry helping same-sex attracted to live chastely slams synod report on homosexuality
Daniel 3:14-23, 91-93: Nebuchadnezzar asked, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, is it true that you do not serve my gods and refuse to worship the golden statue I have set up? When you hear the sound of the trumpet, flute, lyre, harp, bagpipe, or any other instrument, are you willing to fall down and worship the statue I have made? If you refuse to worship it, you must be thrown immediately into the blazing furnace; and where is the God who could save you from my power?” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied to King Nebuchadnezzar: “Your question hardly requires an answer: if our God, whom we serve, is able to save us from the blazing furnace and from your power, O king, he will save us; and even if He does not, you must know, O king, that we will not serve your god nor worship the statue you have set up.” These words infuriated King Nebuchadnezzar; he ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual, and commanded some of his strongest soldiers to bind them and throw …More
Mon May 11, 2026 - 12:33 pm EDT NAVARRA, Spain (LifeSiteNews) — The Jesuit-run Castle of Javier hosted a three-day “Yoga Congress” that brought together more than 250 participants for meditation, mantra concerts, and Eastern spiritual practices. From May 1 to May 3, the XII Iberian Yoga Congress took place at the Castle of Javier in Navarra, the birthplace of St. Francis Xavier and a spiritual center administered by the Jesuits. The event was organized by the Spanish Satsanga Yoga Federation (FEYS) and gathered participants from Spain and Portugal for conferences, workshops, yoga sessions, meditations, and activities connected to Eastern and New Age spirituality. Organizers stated on social media that the congress was held under the theme “Yoga, an invocation of Peace.” The organizers described the gathering as an effort to cultivate “unity in diversity” and to “promote peace through yoga and meditation practices.” InfoVaticana reported on May 9 that photographs distributed by the …
The Courage International Apostolate, which for decades has helped Catholic men and women with same-sex attraction live chastely, issued a stern public response to the synod report that questioned the sinful nature of homosexuality, accusing the authors of “calumny” for its depiction of the apostolate. The report suggested a reframing of homosexuality, endorsing testimony without qualification that “sin, at its root, does not consist in the (same-sex) couple relationship” but in “a lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfilment.” Citing a single testimony describing “problematic membership” in the group, the Vatican-commissioned Study Group 9 report characterized Courage’s approach as “reparative therapy” and condemned it for having “the effect of separating faith and sexuality.” “Courage has suffered calumny and detraction before, but usually from secular outlets,” the group lamented. “It is a great sadness and an additional wound to our members to have this false and …
A topic for speculation/discussion. I was talking to my friend the other day and he told me that there was an experiment in the beginning of XX century of weighing the human soul. Let's speculate a bit. Here is the story of the experiment from McGill University in Montreal: "he April 1907 issue of American Medicine featured a paper by Dr. Duncan Macdougall describing his experiment whereby the beds of dying patients were placed on a sensitive balance. Believe it or not, he was trying to weigh the human soul! The paper was titled “Hypothesis Concerning Soul Substance Together with Experimental Evidence of The Existence of Such Substance.” Macdougall of Haverhill, Massachusetts placed six dying patients on the specially constructed balance and concluded that at the moment of death there was a loss in weight of about three quarters of an ounce, or 21 grams. He had previously determined the weight loss attributed to evaporation of moisture form the skin, and by comparison this was sudden …More
According to the story: MacDougall placed dying patients on specially designed scales. He claimed that at the exact moment of death, the body suddenly lost about 21 grams in weight. He attempted to rule out ordinary explanations such as: evaporation, breathing, urine or feces, air leaving the lungs. He later repeated the experiment on dogs and reported no weight loss, concluding that dogs did not possess souls.
When you deal with the most difficult atheists /scientists/ and try to influenced them into thinking you need measurable, scientific proofs/theories/hypotheses. That's my job. That's what I do.
Worse than Germany: On 1 May, Don Dino Rampazzo celebrated a Eucharist outside Bar Grumo in Valdagno, Diocese of Vicenza, Italy. The event was part of a series of “traveling Eucharists” held in local neighbourhoods instead of churches. More than 80 people attended the service, which ended with drinks provided by the bar. Don Rampazzo said the initiative was intended to reach people outside traditional church settings, responding to criticism by saying: “God is wherever people are.”

In Italy, a record number of apostate priests are participating in vigils to promote sodomy and other aberrations of gender ideology—demonstrating how the Church has been infiltrated by the gay lobby. On the list of activist homosexual priests in Italy who rebel against God and the Church, we find Enrico Solmi of Parma—the only "bishop" who was not invalidly elected by the heresiarch Bergoglio, but who is, evidently, one of the sodomites infiltrated during the 1980s. Also on the list is the apostate homosexual activist Matteo Zuppi. Let us not forget that the apostate Prevost allowed various groups of homosexual activists to desecrate St. Peter's Basilica and the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Prevost supports sinful same-sex civil unions and gay adoption Cardinal Pell: “Communion for the divorced and remarried ....” – it’s only the tip of the iceberg, it’s a Trojan horse. They want wider changes, recognition of civil unions, recognition of homosexual unions,” he said. Don Bosco …More
"St. Vincent Ferrer taught that the first appearance after the Resurrection was to the Blessed Virgin Mary. St. Ambrose, St. Anselm, St. Albert the Great, and St. Ignatius of Loyola also supported this belief. They explained that Jesus first appeared not to convince doubters, but to comfort the one who suffered most with Him at Calvary."
