Does Leo XIV suggest that hell is empty? During Wednesday’s general audience, Leo XIV spoke of Christ’s descent ad inferos, failing to distinguish between the damned in hell and those in the Limbus Patrum, where the righteous awaited resurrection.
The Pope said: "Christ reaches us even in this abyss, passing through the gates of this realm of darkness. He enters, so to speak, in the very house of death, to empty it, to free its inhabitants, taking them by the hand one by one. It is the humility of a God who does not stop in front of our sin, who is not afraid when faced with the human being’s extreme rejection."
The Catechism numbers 633-635 make clear that those who have died rejecting God are not freed.

Prevost's confused heretical views on Hell deny dogmatic principles of faith.
The descent of Jesus into the Limbo of the Just is a dogma of faith, as it is an article of faith.
Catechism of St. Pius X | EWTN
1 Q. What are we taught in the Fifth Article: He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead?
A. The Fifth Article of the Creed teaches us that the Soul of Jesus Christ, on being separated from His Body, descended to the Limbo of the holy Fathers, and that on the third day it became united once more to His Body, never to be parted from it again.
2 Q. What is here meant by hell?
A. Hell here means the Limbo of the holy Fathers, that is, the place where the souls of the just were detained, in expectation of redemption through Jesus Christ.

Words of Jesus Christ to Saint Bridget of Sweden, Apocalypse: ‘The road to hell is open for the wicked. Once they enter into it, they will never come up again. They will be without glory or bliss and will be filled with misery and everlasting reproach.’

Contradicting Jesus and the dogmas of faith, the reprobate Bergoglio preferred to believe that Jesus had lied about Hell: ‘I like to think that hell is empty. I hope that's the reality’
Jesus:
Matthew 13:41-42
The Son of Man will send forth his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all who cause sin and all whose deeds are evil. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Can. 751 Heresy is the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith.
Can. 750 §1. A person must believe with divine and Catholic faith all those things contained in the word of God, written or handed on, that is, in the one deposit of faith entrusted to the Church, and at the same time proposed as divinely revealed either by the solemn magisterium of the Church or by its ordinary and universal magisterium which is manifested by the common adherence of the Christian faithful under the leadership of the sacred magisterium; therefore all are bound to avoid any doctrines whatsoever contrary to them.

The heresy of universalism that Bergoglio promoted with his slogan "todos todos, todos," which Prevost also embraced, includes the heretical concept of an empty hell.

If Leo suggests that hell is empty, then he makes Christ out to be a liar. Christ told us that Judas went to hell by saying better that he had never been born. Since Christ cannot lie, then Leo is the liar.

Worse…Hell of the damned is supposedly empty because, according to Leo, “Our Blessed Lord went there and emptied it Himself.” Blasphemy on top of heresy.
However, even God’s Infinite Power cannot reverse His own Eternal Judgement of a damned soul for to do so He would have to contradict His own Divine infinite Essence of Truth and Goodness. God cannot contradict Himself as this a logical ‘non sequitur’. It is called ‘eternal damnation’ for a reason.
The damned soul remains in his final disposition at death, either love of God, or hatred of God, for all eternity. Why? In eternity there is no time, no passing succession of events, and, therefore, no possibility of change in one’s final disposition after one’s last breath and death.
If Hell is empty, then the Christ’s death on the cross, and the Redemption, have no purpose. Jesus Christ could have skipped the Crucifixion in that case.
Our Lord and God died on the cross to free us from our slavery to sin, to save us from the fires of Hell, and to open Heaven, which since the Fall of Man, had been closed.
Before the Crucifixion, just souls descended to the Limbo of the Just, or the Limbo of the Fathers, ex. the Patriarchs and Prophets. There, temporarily in a place of natural happiness, they were deprived of the Beatific Vision of God, while they awaited Christ’s descent to the Limbo of the Just, and His Resurrection from the dead, and Ascension into Heaven with all of the just souls for their liberation. Once emptied of the saints of the Old Testament by Christ, the Limbo of the Just then closed forever, and Heaven of the New and Eternal Testament, closed since the original sin of Adam, reopened forever.
Then, as now, Damned souls went to Hell for all eternity to suffer the pain of senses, that is to say, the fires of Hell 🔥, and the pain of damnation, meaning the privation of the Beatific Vision of the Divine Essence.
Why become a Catholic if there is no eternal punishment in Hell for reprobates?

The Scriptures specifically refer to those who, in the name of God, contradict God himself, as "false prophets." Prevost contradicts Jesus Christ. Therefore, he is an antichrist.

@Josefa Menendez: Once again, Prevost distorts and misuses the Holy Gospel to mislead the ignorant. If Jesus were to release the damned from hell, it would mean that sin has no consequences. Prevost promotes sin and damnation by claiming that everyone will be saved. A clear example of this is his advocacy of homosexuality at all costs.

Prevost's heretical opinion that contradicts the dogma of the Faith of Hell.: "He does not save only himself; he does not return to life alone, but carries all of humanity with him".
He contradicts the Apostles' Creed. That is, Prevost contradicts dogmas of Faith.

eva333

After the insufferable Bergoglio, we now have another apostate worse than him. Satan is very happy.

Note also that the heresiarch Prevost denies that Jesus Christ is Judge:"Not to judge, but to set free"

That's right, he is implying that those who “rejected God” and therefore ended up in the “realm of darkness” are being “saved by Christ”. Carefully worded but sending the message: “its ok to reject God, he will save you anyways”. Same old Bergoglian highway to Hell!

traddoc

Oh, great. Another dogma-ignorant, doomed heretic.

DrMaria

What is wrong with Prevost - does he not realize that by attacking the revealed truth and Catholic dogma that hell is permanent - and souls who reject God and remain stuck in mortal sin will be in hell for all eternity - he is sending many souls to hell?!! Beware of modernist wolves who are attacking the sheepfold - and blaspheming the Sacred Truth revealed by the Good Shepherd! Our Lady gave a clear vision of hell and its permanence when She appeared in Fatima in 1917 to counter this heresy. Prevost shows that he, like Bergoglio, is in opposition not only to the Good Shepherd but also to Our Lady. @Live Mike

Diodoro
