Moscow Patriarchate Not Invited to Ecumenical Prayer in Nicaea

Today, at the site of ancient Nicaea, Pope Leo XIV joined around 27 other leaders of Christian communities to commemorate the 1700 anniversary of the first Council. Leo XIV thanked the Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, for his "great wisdom and foresight" in calling for Church leaders to celebrate this important anniversary together.
However, Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow was not invited to the ecumenical prayer.
Cardinal Kurt Koch told CruxNow.com ahead of the liturgy: "The Catholics have invited Catholics and the Orthodox invite Orthodox". He added that he respects the "decision of the Orthodox" not to invite the world’s largest Orthodox group.

Brussels Sparks Outrage with Faceless, “Inclusive” Nativity Scene – Allah's Willing Executioners

Screengrab youtube
The installation raised next to the Christmas tree that adorns Brussels’ Grand-Place this year, titled “
Fabrics of the Nativity,” has drawn criticism. While it includes the traditional figures of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus, it replaces classic sacred imagery with life-size dolls dressed in recycled textiles. The figures have no faces, only patchwork patterns in beige and brown. According to organizers, this was meant to create “an inclusive mix of skin tones.” Critics argue it strips the nativity of its spiritual meaning and turns it into a political statement.
City officials say the old nativity scene was too damaged to keep. Mayor Philippe Close (PS) insisted Brussels would not follow other cities that removed their nativity displays, but admitted jokingly that as a secular mayor he didn’t want to handle the issue alone. The project was reviewed and approved by St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral—a decision that has raised eyebrows among those who expected a …

The Indonesian Catholic Church faces criticism for silence and complicity in Papua, failing to defend human rights, address state violence, and uphold its prophetic mission to the oppressed.
The Vatican’s role also appears compromised. The current Nuncio in Jakarta frequently praises Indonesia’s religious tolerance, yet this image conceals persistent discrimination and systemic abuses against minority religious and ethnic groups in the country.

Catholic Church Silence and Complicity in Papua: A Critical Examination

Catholic Church Silence and Complicity in Papua: A Critical Examination
The Indonesian Catholic Church faces criticism for silence and complicity in Papua, failing to defend human rights, address state violence, and uphold its prophetic mission to the oppressed.
A Cry Ignored

On December 10, 2020—World Human Rights Day—147 Catholic priests from Papua issued a solemn appeal to the Indonesian Bishops’ Conference (Konferensi Waligereja Indonesia, KWI), urging urgent attention to the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in their land.
A year later, Papuan Catholic students staged a protest in front of both the Vatican Embassy and KWI offices in Jakarta. Among their demands was the retraction of Cardinal Ignatius Suharyo’s public endorsement of Indonesian government policies in Papua. This endorsement came despite ongoing human rights abuses, including the extrajudicial killing of …

Mark Kelly Fires Back After Hegseth Launches Investigation Into Him: ‘I’ve Given Too Much to This Country to Be Silenced by Bullies’
...after they threaten him alongside other Democrat Senators to be executed and arrested over saying that troops can refuse to do illegal orders.
Kelly responded to the development on X, where he wrote, “When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents.”
“In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the …More

Dan 7:2-14
The choice is simple. When we move forward in good, evil is in the rearview mirror.
Luke 21:29-33
Jesus said: "Consider the fig tree and all the other trees. When their buds burst open, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near."
What a beautiful image of the joy of God that is in our hearts. The joy of the Heart of God within us radiates (budding), and it offers radiant flowers to each person on our path.

Putin meets Orban in Moscow: As it happened

The two leaders are expected to discuss energy security and the Ukraine conflict
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has arrived in Russia for an unannounced visit centered on energy security, with talks scheduled later in the day with President Vladimir Putin.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto shared news of the arrival on Friday, posting a photo of members of the delegation disembarking a plane in Moscow.
Speaking to reporters before departing Budapest early in the morning, Orban said his priority is ensuring that Hungary continues to receive sufficient supplies.
“I am traveling to Moscow so that Hungary’s energy supply is secured for the winter and for the following year, at an affordable price,” he stated, adding that the Ukraine conflict is an issue that “can hardly be avoided” when he meets with Putin.

Putin thanks Orban for offering hospitality to foreign leaders, including after US President Donald Trump said his next in-person meeting with the Russian leader could take place in Budapest.
“That was Donald’s idea,” Putin said. “He told me: ‘We both have good relations with Hungary. You are on good terms with Viktor, and so am I.’ It was my pleasure to agree to the proposal.”
Mr Trump should just go to Moscow as Putin came to the US! Certain people don't want Trump to see what Russia really looks like or the way Russians actually live.

O Canada, what happened to you? I remember visiting there as a child and Ontario was a clean, family friendly province that felt like an English-speaking Netherlands with pretty well-kept flower beds alongside highways. Had an occasion to return several years ago as an adult and it's all Indian shops, tattoo parlors, bars, & CBD stores! 😭

Great humility of St. Teresa of Avila: 'He who bids me write this, tells me that the nuns of these convents of our Lady of Carmel need someone to solve their difficulties about prayer: he thinks that women understand one another’s language best and that my sisters’ affection for me would make them pay special attention to my words, therefore it is important for me to explain the subject clearly to them. Thus I am writing only to my sisters; the idea that anyone else could benefit by what I say would be absurd.

“PREFACE
THIS TREATISE, STYLED THE INTERIOR CASTLE, WAS WRITTEN BY TERESA OF JESUS, NUN OF OUR LADY OF CARMEL, FOR HER SISTERS AND DAUGHTERS, THE DISCALCED CARMELITE NUNS.
RARELY has obedience laid upon me so difficult a task as this of writing about prayer; for one reason, because I do not feel that God has given me either the power or the desire for it, besides which, during the last three months I have suffered from noises and a great weakness in my head that have made it painful for me to write even on necessary business.
However, as I know the power obedience has of making things easy which seem impossible, my will submits with a good grace, although nature seems greatly distressed, for God has not given me such strength as to bear, without repugnance, the constant struggle against …More

Stay awake, be ready
Liturgy of Sunday November 30 - first of Advent
Dear brothers and sisters, the powerful words used by Jesus in the passage from the Gospel of Matthew we’re going to listen to next Sunday, November 30, first of Advent, should not frighten us, but, on the contrary, fill us with joy.
Let's try to figure out why.
How often, faced with the injustices that plague the world, our hearts are torn by the question: Why would a good God allow so much suffering, especially innocent suffering? Why He doesn't intervene?
Well, the answer to this question is, in its apparently incomprehensibility, extraordinary: God is working on a new creation!!
Jesus' warning to stay awake is an invitation not to be afraid by the "night" of evil that makes life on earth "gloomy", but to overcome it with the light of God's Love because it's just from that night that God is going to make the dawn of the new creation arise…
