In his homily, Francis, mirroring his own nostalgia for the 1960s, criticised "nostalgia for the past.”
He complained about "progressivism" that lines up behind the world [= Francis' own position] and "traditionalism" that longs for a "bygone world" - as if the Gospel and the Catholic Faith were "bygone." He accused both of lack of "love" and "infidelity" and of "Pelagian egoism".
Then he took refuge in word games, “The Council rediscovered the living river of Tradition, without remaining mired in traditions.” Opposing "Tradition" and "traditions" is the usual trick to attack Tradition.
Finally, he criticised his own character: “How many of us are unable to live the faith with joy? Without grumbling, criticising. A Church in love with Jesus has no time for quarrels, gossip and disputes. May God free us from being critical and intolerant.”
