Pope Francis has slammed political movements critical of mass-immigration for “sowing violence, racial discrimination and xenophobia”.
In his statement for the World Day of Peace (November 24) he claims that criticising mass-immigration is “demeaning the human dignity”.
One of those critical of mass-immigration is Ghana-born Curial Cardinal Peter Turkson. Earlier this year he stated that African immigration into Europe is like water flowing from an open tap, “It’s not enough just to dry it up, you have to turn off the faucet.” According to Turkson young people should be kept where they are because they are needed there.
