The County [Kangaroo] Court of Victoria released the video of an interrogation Victorian police conducted with Cardinal George Pell in Rome on October 19, 2016. The video [in English] is a must see.
During the interrogation, Pell is confronted with allegations of having exposed himself and forced his accuser's head against his private parts after Sunday Mass in Melbourne Cathedral while still wearing full liturgical vestments.
Pell asks the policeman several times whether the "abuse" was claimed to have happened in the cathedral's sacristy after Sunday Mass. The policeman confirmed. Pell replies that this is "good" for him as it makes the story "fantastic" and "impossible".
He goes on assessing the claims as “disgraceful rubbish”, “madness”, “completely false”, “deranged falsehood”, and “garbage”.

Pell was made an example of so that others don't expose the rot in the Church.

@aderito I assume you mean we should pray that the appellant court will find the guilty verdict to be 'unsafe'. If this indeed this be the decision, then one of the judges options could be that the 'unsafe verdict' of guilty be quashed. However, they might order a new trial [highly unlikely] or they might uphold the original verdict. The question in my mind is- What did the jury hear [recall part …More

alex j, as I understand it there was a gag on the media because they wanted to run another trial against pell - the second was scheduled to run in march but is not going ahead. As far as I understand it, the first trial was effectively held in secret but if anyone knew where it was being held they could be present as an observer. alex j, the witness against pell did not even give evidence at the trial. (An earlier trial with a hung jruy was abandoned). This seems to me to be unusual. It is also odd that no one knows who the witness is - is it impossible to produce him to talk to the media because his story is fake and would be exposed at once?
what a bunch of "Hogwash" this is pure inventions of whoever wants to destroy this priest .. we had here in our parish a priest that was giving confessions in an open room with big clear glass windows .. three girls accused the priest of touching them and fondling them .. this was even brought to court and the girls changed there stories more than once ... the priest was stop from giving any sacraments …More

Cardinal Pell can use this false accusation against him as a form of mortification to atone for the sins of the church!!!! He can bypass purgatory if he place his cards right. Using bad situations and offering them up to God is very powerful for reparation and atonement of sins!!!!
