Theology (θεολογία, theologia, from the Greek Θεός, Theosz, “God,” and -λογία, logia, “discourse, science, doctrine”) has its source and foundation in God and His revelation. One cannot proceed from a human starting point, because the human is finite, while God is infinite. If anyone (a theologian, if indeed they are one at all) fails to see, understand, or recognize this, then they should return their degree and keep their mouth shut. It is not God who must be adapted to man, but man who must be led to God.

Given that God allowed Moses to allow polygamy, on what basis, exactly, does the Church refuse baptism to polygamously-married heathen? . Don't forget that even the unrepentant can be validly baptized (and thereby remitting original sin), although such a baptism does not bestow sanctifying grace.
