July is traditionally the month of devotion to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. In this article, you can read a short history of the devotion, read the prayer in Latin and watch a pronunciation video. History Prayer in Latin Latin pronunciation video Prayer in English The month of the Precious Blood of Jesus beautifully flows forth from the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As the side of Christ was pierced with a lance, out gushed blood and water, from which (as the early Fathers say) came the birth of the Church and the Holy Sacraments. Indeed, it is also by the shedding of the Spotless Lamb’s Blood that our sins are forgiven and our redemption purchased. Every single drop of the Precious Blood contains in It the entirety of the Life and Love of God; His very Self is fully contained in a single droplet from the Precious Chalice. (SOURCE) History of the devotion The devotion to the Precious Blood began in Spain, then spread to Italy and was celebrated as a feast day from the time …
– Folha de S. Paulo, November 20, 1968 – by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira During my visit to Rome in 1962, I sensed a mood of open optimism among influential and high-ranking circles about events beyond the Iron Curtain. The main reasons for this optimism were the start of the “softening” of the communist regime taking hold in Russia and Wladislaw Gomulka’s actions in Poland, which were seen as original, astute, and patriotic. In my previous article, I discussed the key features of Russia’s communist “softening” (political disintegration of the bloc of nations under Russian control, decentralization of large administrative structures within Russia, “restoration” of capitalism and property, etc.), which was widely promoted by Soviet propaganda. I also outlined the significant — if not monstrous — benefits that communists have gained from this on the international stage. This week’s telegraphic news prompts me to comment on Władysław Gomulka. To understand this communist leader’s …More
The Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X, Don Davide Pagliarani, has replied to Leo XIV, asking him to take more time before making any decision concerning the FSSPX. "One day, all the difficulties between the Holy See and the Society will be resolved." The letter. The Superior General To His Holiness Pope Leo XIV Ecône, 30 June 2026 Most Holy Father, Thank you very much for the letter that Your Holiness so kindly addressed to me. I have been deeply touched by Your paternal solicitude. For a long time, I had hoped to have the opportunity of meeting You in person, in order to express to You directly our sincere desire to serve the Church. Unfortunately, that opportunity has not presented itself. I ask only that You consider the sincerity of this intention, which is in no way feigned. Paradoxically, in the present circumstances, we believe it to be our very duty to do everything possible to mend Christ's seamless garment, torn by forces and pressures incompatible …More
@brhenry You have reached for a very strained reading of the SSPX response. Something along the order of what we would expect from bomb throwers. A common sense reading (which is clearly what was intended) would be "Don't act impulsively." The SSPX has never given even the slightest hint that they have ever been looking for a "compromise."
"Kicking the can down the road" has been the problem from the beginning with all disciplinary issues in the Church, including the 1962 Missal sectarian problem. Essentially, the SSPX wants the Vatican to take a modernist "inclusive, all are welcome" approach. Hopefully the Holy Father demands repentance and full reconciliation for years of schism.
Today, Leo XIV has appointed Sister Alessandra Smerilli as Prefect to the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. She served as Secretary of the Dicastery. Cardinal Fabio Baggio, currently Under-Secretary of the Dicastery, has been appointed Pro-Prefect, with special responsibility for the Laudato si’ Higher Education Center. Monsignor Jozef Barlaš, currently Under-Secretary of the Dicastery, has been appointed Secretary of the Dicastery. The Personification of the Francis Agenda Sister Smerilli is a Francis-era appointee through and through. She uses all the Francis buzzwords new economy, integral ecology, climate justice, migrants, social justice, “Economy of Francesco”. Francis named her interim secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development in 2021, making her the highest ranking woman in the Roman Curia at the time. Before, she was in charge of the Vatican's COVID-19 economic recovery commission. "Change Rules That Only Priests Can Do Certain Things" …More
A Sacred Communion: New Archbishops Receive Pallium from Pope | Shalom World News On the Solemnity of the Apostles, Saints Peter and Paul, Pope Leo XIV celebrated a solemn Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. During the Mass, the Holy Father blessed the Sacred Pallium and imposed them on the newly appointed Archbishops. The Pallium, sacred woolen vestment adorned with crosses, is one of the Church's most profound signs of communion between the Pope and the Archbishops of the universal Church.
Tue Jun 30, 2026 - 2:20 pm EDTTue Jun 30, 2026 - 3:04 pm EDT CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (LifeSiteNews) – A roomful of Texas Democrats chanted “we’re all going to hell” in solidarity with left-wing US Senate nominee James Talarico, in a moment ostensibly meant to express defiance of recent criticism he received but which critics would argue is more fitting than the party intended. Democrats initially framed Talarico, a Presbyterian seminarian and current Texas state representative, as a mainstream figure and rising political talent capable of appealing across partisan lines due in part to his ostensible faith background, which was swiftly quashed not only by his strident left-wing stances on abortion, sexuality, and more, but by claiming Christianity endorses them. LifeSiteNews reported earlier this month that, while addressing the Republican Party of Texas’s 2026 State Convention on June 12, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick gave Talarico a grave warning: “I’ve never seen so much blasphemy from anyone …
The Roman rite is "not an attack on the unity of the Church," Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, 57, of Ajaccio, France, told Italian daily Il Giornale on June 29. "The Church also has the Eastern rites, and even in the West we have many rites: I am thinking of the Ambrosian Rite, the Mozarabic Rite, or the Spanish Rite," the Spanish-born cardinal added. In his view, the difficulty arises only when "the search for greater radicality turns into rigidity". However, Cardinal Bustillo opposes the reversion of Traditionis Custodes. It would be "dangerous," he said, "to send the message that Francis was wrong and that Leo XIV is here to solve the problem." He believes Leo XIV "will give a response that is fair and well-calibrated." On the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X, he spoke of "a painful rupture for the Church." He lamented that any new break would come little more than a year into a pontificate centered on the words [!] "peace" and "unity." Picture: …More
Stand Firm When Darkness Seems Victorious The apostles, like St. Peter and St. Paul, faced immense suffering and imprisonment for their faith, yet remained faithful and joyful. Their example teaches us to view our struggles as opportunities to grow in faith and charity, rather than as reasons to abandon God. By learning to handle our current challenges with grace, we prepare ourselves for greater trials and can ultimately say, “I have competed well, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Fr. The State of Affairs at L'Osservatore Romano: During today's Angelus, Pope Leo XIV greeted homeless people present in St Peter's Square who were distributing L'Osservatore di strada, a supplement of L'Osservatore Romano. According to Silere non possum, Andrea Monda, editor-in-chief of L'Osservatore Romano, requested that a greeting to the distributors be included in the Pope's prepared text. Monda attended the Angelus in St Peter's Square. SilereNonPossum.com adds that Monda does not usually go to the office even on days when he is expected to be there, that public interest in L'Osservatore di strada is "non-existent," and that Monda is personally responsible for the costly project out of an "obsession."
Angelus: Pope Leo Reads, Andrea Monda Gets the … Among the greetings drafted by the Prefecture of the Papal Household for the Pope was one addressed to the homeless people present in St Peter’s Square to distribute L’Osservatore di strada, a supplement to L’Osservatore Romano. Naturally, the request came from Andrea Monda himself. A man who does not usually go to the office even on the days when he is expected to be there was hardly likely to spend a Sunday in St Peter’s Square beneath the scorching Roman sun of recent days. But having secured confirmation from the Prefecture that the short passage had been inserted into the text prepared for the Pope, Monda could not miss the occasion. He had to be there, he had to be seen, he had to make his presence visible at the very moment Leo XIV spoke about the costly paper. And so there he was in St Peter’s Square, beside a banner that had cost hundreds of euros, waving his arms about in his embarrassing braces to greet the Pope, who, puzzled …More
Vatican drapes with Carpet of Flowers for Princes of Apostles | Shalom World News The road leading to St. Peter's Square was transformed into a colourful carpet of floral art on Sunday as Rome marked the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, hailed as the princes of the Apostles. Known as the Infiorata Storica, the annual tradition saw artisans and volunteers from across Italy create large religious images using flower petals, colored sand, wood shavings and other natural materials. The intricate designs, completed overnight along Via della Conciliazione, welcomed thousands of pilgrims making their way to the Vatican for the feast. The tradition dates back to 1625, when Vatican florist Benedetto Drei first decorated the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica with floral mosaics. Though it faded for centuries, the Infiorata was revived in 2011 and has since become a highlight of the city's celebration of its patron saints.

Cardinal Raymond Burke criticized at the consistory the pro-homosexual Final Report of the Synod’s Study Group No. 9. AdVaticanum.com reports (June 29) that he focused on its call to privilege the "experiences" of homosexuals. Cardinal Burke described the report as manifesting “the very grave difficulty with the current direction and functioning of the Synod” and stressed that it carries weight as official synodal material. He added that, by invoking a “paradigm shift,” the report takes a path divergent from the Church’s perennial moral teaching on the homosexual condition and corresponding acts. Furthermore, the Cardinal defended the Courage apostolate supporting chastity. He criticized the report for slandering such efforts and validating agendas “in open opposition to the traditional moral doctrine of the Church.” He concluded by invoking St John Paul II’s Veritatis Splendor in defence of immutable moral norms. #newsNxgddvhpmu
"Whoever, then, has the grace of greater understanding should beware of the danger of a harsher judgment if he or she is negligent. Whoever lacks understanding and intellectual brilliance should take advantage of the little he has and do what he can - for he has been saved from many occasions of sin. In youth even Peter the Apostle was forgetful, and John unlearned. Yet they grasped true wisdom in old age, for they sought the source of wisdom. Solomon was quick to learn when young, and Aristotle had a subtle mind. However, they did not grasp the origin of wisdom, for they neither glorified the giver of wisdom, as they should have, nor put into practice what they knew and taught, nor studied in order to improve themselves but to improve others."
[Saint Bridget of Sweden – XIV Century AD; born: Uppland, Sweden/doed: Rome, Papal States; Patron Saint of Europe, Widow, Mystic, Spiritual Writer] Fourth question. ”Why is intelligence and an extremely quick mind given to some people, while others are like mindless asses?” Answer to the fourth question. ”As to why some people are more intelligent, I answer: With regard to eternal salvation, abundant wisdom does not benefit the soul, unless she also shines with goodness of life. It is in fact more useful to have less knowledge but a better way of life. Accordingly, reason is measured out to all persons in such a way that they can gain heaven, if they lead godly lives. Yet the reasoning faculty differs in many people according to their natural and spiritual dispositions. Just as one person succeeds through virtue and Godsent zeal in perfecting the virtues, another can likewise fall into vanities through bad will and nature's bad disposition as well as an immoral upbringing. One's nature …More
As noted here, Father Chad Ripperger says obsession with aliens constitutes an attempt to "supplant Christianity." Fr. Chad Ripperger highlighted several aspects of the alien narrative as evidence that it is intended to replace Christianity as a cosmological framework. During a discussion on aliens and demons with Catholic podcaster Timothy Gordon and guest Frank Wright of the Quite Frankly podcast, Fr. Ripperger affirmed a relationship between the occult and reports of aliens when suggested by Frank. One of the signs of the relationship of “aliens” to demons is the supposed backstory of these extraterrestrial beings that gives an “alternate explanation” to the creation of the universe in which the aliens came to earth and “seeded” us as offspring. This idea excludes the biblical understanding of original sin and Adam and Eve, Fr. Ripperger noted. Another indicator of their relationship to the demonic is the idea that aliens have “come to save us from ourselves” and to enlighten us …
Burning Crosses at a Polish Festival: On 26 June, during the Bangarang heavy metal festival in Chwałkowo, Poland, a stage performance included the burning of wooden crosses. A firefighter stood by for fire safety. Local politicians and officials condemned the act as blasphemous and disrespectful of religious feeling. And yet it was still allowed. Even with a firefighter to make sure it doesn't get out of control. Their only real concern. A lot of people get away with this sort of thing in Poland like Blaspheming against Catholics and GOD. Very few are even fined. Then below we have this mess in Poland. No wonder they don't stop burning of crosses and filthy plays. You will never see this in Russia! It's a crime, and a serious crime to attack any religion in Russia. They won't pretend to be outraged. THEY WILL BE! And off to jail you go! Freedom of religion is one thing they take very seriously. They got caught in their own laws trying to ban freemasons. But working on how to change it without hurting others. That will be one huge challenge they have on their hands. Thankfully there isn't many at all. About 1.000 +. This is why many hate Russia. She destroys …More
Today, Leo XIV issued the Motu Proprio Confirma Fratres Tuos, which replaces the apostolic constitution In Ecclesiarum Communione, promulgated by Pope Francis in January 2023, which governed the vicariate of Rome. According to the new constitution: • The Cardinal Vicar regains primary executive authority over the Vicariate and assumes greater responsibility for its day-to-day governance while remaining accountable to the Pope. • The Episcopal Council is no longer a decision-making body, but rather a consultative one. The Cardinal Vicar will chair it rather than the Pope. • A new office, the Moderator Curiae, is established. The Moderator Curiae is appointed for a five-year term to coordinate the Vicariate's offices, oversee personnel, and manage administrative operations. • The Vicegerent continues in a supporting role while transferring many administrative coordination responsibilities to the Moderator Curiae. #newsEtjyapertd
Saint Otto of Bamberg | The Apostle of Pomerania | Feast Day June 30th Today we remember Otto of Bamberg, whose feast day is celebrated on June 30. Born around 1060 in **Germany, Otto became Bishop of Bamberg in 1102. Although he was known as a capable bishop and trusted adviser to both the Church and civil leaders, Otto is most remembered for his missionary work. At the request of the Church, he travelled to Pomerania, where many people had not yet embraced Christianity. Rather than forcing conversions, Otto patiently shared the Gospel through: Charity and kindness Faithful preaching Respect for local communities Building churches and strengthening Christian life His gentle approach led thousands of people to embrace the Christian faith. Because of his extraordinary missionary success, he became known as the "Apostle of Pomerania." He also served as a papal legate, representing the Holy See in important missions, and remained Bishop of Bamberg until his death in 1139…More
