Our Lady’s prayers are so powerful! e.l.f Cosmetics co-founder Deacon Scott Borba will be ordained a priest on May 23, 2026, in the Diocese of Fresno, California. Deacon Borba is a former esthetician, actor, model, author, and singer who gave up his multimillion-dollar career to answer a call to the priesthood. He spent over 20 years working in the health and beauty industry, and donated all of his wealth to charity after answering a lifelong call to the priesthood at the age of 42. According to Angelus News, Borba said God called him to the priesthood at the age of 10, but he “accepted late.” He also told his conversion story to yourcentralvalley.com in a 2019 interview, explaining that “God has blessed me with everything under the sun.” Borba said he asked God to allow him to fulfill multiple dreams, to which he felt the Lord say “yes.” “He not only blessed me with blessed me with money, and awareness, and just every business I had, he allowed me to have success with it,” Borba …
It is premature to foresee an intervention by the Holy See regarding the German bishops on the blessings for homosexuals. Cardinal Pietro Parolin said this at the Augustinianum to present the book “Robert Francis Prevost. Free Under Grace”, as reported by VaticanNews.va on May 6. At this moment, Cardinal Parolin said, there is “dialogue”: “Let us see what happens.” He reiterated that the decision belongs to the Pope. “But in any case," he continued, “we have already for some time begun a dialogue, each expressing our own views.” Cardinal Parolin hopes that sanctions will not be necessary and that problems may be resolved peacefully, as should be the case in the Church. #newsZztiabfumv
In Mary's name, I say this to each one of you. She loves you, each and every one of you. She loves you very much. She loves you at every moment and without exceptions. St. Maximilian Kolbe Statue in Southern Lebanon
The Diocese of Amiens, northern France, has announced that it will not renew the mission of three conservative priests from the Diocese of Fréjus-Toulon after months of “growing tensions” within the parishes. Fathers François-Régis Favre, Éloi Legrand, and Pierre-Marie Brochery, began serving in the parishes of Albert, Bray-sur-Somme, Mailly-Maillet, and Acheux in September 2025. They will depart at the end of the current pastoral year. In a statement released on April 27, Bishop Gérard Le Stang said the decision followed “a long period of reflection” and consultations with diocesan clergy and parishioners. He described the situation as having created a “deep and lasting disruption” within the communities. Cassocks, Novus Ordo in Latin The priests drew criticism from some parishioners for wearing cassocks, celebrating the Novus Ordo partly in Latin, and emphasizing moral teaching. Complaints also emerged regarding what some described as divisive preaching. One deacon reportedly …More
During Catholic Education Week, the Ottawa Catholic District School Board handed out 36 “Excellence in Catholic Education” awards. Yet critics say the event reflected secular activism more than authentic Catholic identity. Many award recipients were recognized for equity and inclusion initiatives, while Ontario’s Catholic teachers’ union is currently developing 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion curriculum for all elementary grades, including kindergarten.
For this year's Catholic Education Week, the Ottawa Catholic District School Board came together to celebrate Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica and hand out 36 awards for Excellence in Catholic Education. All 36 winners are listed on the school board website. We ask: Where is the excellence in Catholic education? The exercise is more to do with PR than true Catholic awards. The Board says, "This year’s theme, Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness, focused on who we are as a community and how we move forward together." Archbishop Marcel Damphousse was present along with staff, families and colleagues. The board has even published a booklet about the winners. But where is the hope and the holy place? A more appropriate title would be "Pilgrims of Secularism." The awards claim to be about putting Catholic education in action, building the community and inspiring futures. But what does this actually mean? We're told, "The recipients reflect the very best of our system. They create …
"Rodriguez cites the case of a person who persevered forty years in prayer despite aridity, and experienced great spiritual strength as a result of it; on occasion, when through aridity he would omit meditation he felt spiritually weak and incapable of good deeds. St. Bonaventure and Gerson both say that persons who do not experience the recollection they would like to have in their meditations, often serve God better than they would do if they did have it; the reason is that lack of recollection keeps them more diligent and humble; otherwise they would become puffed up with spiritual pride and grow tepid, vainly believing they had reached the summit of sanctity."
[Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori – XVII-XVIII Century AD; born: Marianella, Kingdom of Naples/died: Pagani, Kingdom of Naples; (aged 90); Bishop; spiritual writer, composer, musician, artist, poet, lawyer, scholastic philosopher, and theologian; Founder; Doctor of the Church] VI. Spiritual Desolation. We ought to view in the light of God’s holy will, the loss of persons who are helpful to us in a spiritual or material way. Pious souls often fail in this respect by not being resigned to the dispositions of God’s holy will. Our sanctification comes fundamentally and essentially from God, not from spiritual directors. When God sends us a spiritual director, he wishes us to use him for our spiritual profit; but if he takes him away, he wants us to remain calm and unperturbed and to increase our confidence in his goodness by saying to him: “Lord, you have given me this help and now you don’t take it away. Blessed be your holy will! I beg you, teach me what I must do to serve you.” In this …More
This lecture in Buenos Aires on November 4, 1964 was originally titled, “The Freedom of the Church in the Communist State.” Reverend Fathers, military authorities, ladies and gentlemen, It is a great pleasure and privilege to speak to this audience, and I say so not just out of kindness. Indeed, it is truly satisfying for a speaker to communicate with his listeners and realize that everyone stands for the same ideals, has the same mindset, and cares about the same problems. That is a pleasure, particularly when there is a growing perception in Brazil, Argentina, and other Latin American countries that they face the same issues. More than in other historical epochs, one can say that everything unites us, and nothing separates us. Therefore, I am gladly addressing tonight what I see as a basic issue in today’s life. Today we are facing such an accumulation of problems that it is no small thing to say that this one is basic. Imagine that you are in the Kremlin. Top leaders of international …More
Matthew McCusker Thu May 8, 2025 Both liberals and traditionalists are often under the false impression that the infallible exercise of the Church’s teaching authority is something which occurs only rarely. Painting of the First Vatican Council, 1870 Editor’s note: Despite the recent death of Francis the debate over his claim to the papacy remains of importance if we are to understand recent events, and prepare for what happens next. For this reason, LifeSiteNews will continue to publish the remaining installments of this series. We ask our readers to pray for the repose of Francis’s soul. All those things are to be believed with divine and Catholic faith which are contained in the Word of God, written or handed down, and are proposed by the Church either by a solemn judgment or by her ordinary and universal magisterium to be believed as divinely revealed. First Vatican Council, Dei Filius In this article, the third part of my reply to Matt Gaspers, I will continue the discussion of …More
"Therefore, I want to go to the heathens in whose mouths I am now bitter and distasteful, but I will become sweeter than honey in their mouths. Nevertheless, I am still so merciful that I will happily receive each and everyone who begs for my forgiveness and says: ‘Lord, I know that I have sinned severely and I gladly want to better myself through your grace. Have mercy on me for the sake of your bitter suffering.’"
[Saint Bridget of Sweden/ Heliga Birgitta; XIV Century AD: aged 69-70; Uppland, Sweden/Rome, Papal States; Widow, Mystic; Spiritual Writer; Founder; Patroness of Europe] Chapter 57 ~ The words of our Lord to the bride about how he is loathsome and despicable food for the souls of Christians, and how the world, instead, is loved and found to be delightful by them, and about the terrifying judgment that is executed over such people. The Son of God spoke to his bride: “Christians are now acting towards me as the Jews acted towards me. The Jews drove me out of the temple and had a complete will to kill me, but since my hour had not yet come, I escaped from their hands. Christians act towards me in the same way now. They drive me out of their temple (that is, out of their soul, which should be my temple) and they would gladly want to kill me if they could. I am like rotten and stinking flesh in their mouths. I seem, to them, to be like a man who utters lies, and they do not care about me at …More
Cardinal Tucho Fernández repeated to VaticanNews.va on May 6 that the German “blessing guide” for homosexuals and other couples in mortal sin does not have Vatican approval. The pro-homosexual cardinal is a soft-porn author and Prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. He stated that a letter he sent in November 2024 regarding an earlier draft of the German bishops’ blessing guidelines remains fully applicable to the final version approved in April 2025. The German bishops’ document in question is titled Blessing Gives Strength to Love. They falsely claimed Vatican support for their guidelines. The Vatican’s release of the November 2024 letter was “in agreement with Pope Leo XIV.” “That letter is the only and final response,” Tucho told Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier, chairman of the German bishops’ liturgy commission, during a meeting in the Vatican on November 12, 2025. Tucho explained that although the final German text differs somewhat from the original draft …More
By refuting the formal ritual of the pseudo-blessing of sodomitic concubines—devised by the schismatic German apostates—Tucho reaffirms his own sacrilegious and "informal" pseudo-blessing for sodomitic concubines; while it might appear that he is taking a step backward, in reality he is moving forward by reaffirming his own pseudo-blessing. Leo Affirms Francis’ Blessing Of Gay Couples
