The Mediocre and the "Mediocrats" Folha de S. Paulo, June 20th 1981 By Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira It was to France's center and right that I directed the questions, or rather, objurgatory interrogations of my last article. Note that it was written before the first round of elections to the legislature. However, I wasn't thinking indiscriminately of all those who make up these currents. The centrists and rightists who were responsible for the Mitterrand catastrophe constitute a large family of souls made up almost exclusively of mediocrities gathered in a doctrinal context that is vaguely "non communist" but that avoids the adjective "anticommunist." My reproaches were thus specifically directed to the mediocre of the center and the right, including those who, though not voting for Mitterrand, were weak, soft, and careless in the pre-electoral fight. *** Here I distinguish between the mediocre and the average. A person his just as much right to be average as he does to be born with abundant …More
The mounting attack on altar rails…renewing the iconoclasm of the 1970s, is a cause of deep concern... For this reason it behooves us to understand that there is absolutely no basis for a bishop to oppose the use or the construction of altar rails in churches. – Dr. Kwasniewski
Archbishop-Designate Hicks: “I was really formed by the Latino Church and I have a great heart for the Latino community. This community is a vital part of the Church…I’m proud of the statement the USCCB recently put out about immigration and about the necessity to make sure that we have a country that does protect our borders… and also be a country that upholds human dignity.”

Crowds gathered at the annual festive market, their faces aglow with anticipation. Towering at 45 meters, this monumental tree is crafted from about 1,200 Norway spruce trees, together weighing nearly 40 tonnes. Since 1996, this breathtaking tree has stood as the shining centerpiece of Dortmund's beloved Christmas City.
We aren't Protestant Fundamentalists who interpret all verses of Scripture literally [but to be fair they don't even apply this to all verses, example: John 6]. Jesus used hyperbole to make a point. Just like he doesn't want us to cut off our hands, or gouge out our eyes if we sin with them!

There are too many multitudes of bibles that are CORRUPT a.k.a. as man-made concoctions to please the man-made beliefs by subtracting books, adding books, changing words, etc. ; ALL the protestant bibles are corrupt and other bibles also. The Holy Scriptures of ALMIGHTY GOD and the interpretations of them have been entrusted to the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, and APOSTOLIC Church which is the only Church that JESUS CHRIST INSTITUTED versus the plethora of churches founded by man in order to be used to seduce people to follow themselves while pretending to be true churches. Wed Dec 17, 2025 - 9:45 am EST (LifeSiteNews) — According to a new report, the big problem with TV these days is that there aren’t enough abortions taking place on screen. On one hand, according to the annual “Abortion Onscreen” report, there is good news. There were some onscreen abortions – 66 abortion storylines in 2024 – including in shows like The Pitt, Call the Midwife, Love is Blind, Family Guy, and South Park. “But in the past few years, there’s been a significant drop in the number of characters who actually went through with an abortion,” writes Neda Ulaby at NPR, who takes it for granted that this is a bad thing. “37% obtained an abortion in 2025, a 14% decline since 2023.” READ: Trump advisers ‘furious’ over Josh Hawley’s pro-life ad plan ahead of midterms: report The “Abortion Onscreen” report is put out each year by Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health, a research program on abortion at the University of California San Fransico. “I think there …
O Antiphons The O Antiphons (also known as the Great Advent Antiphons or Great Os) are antiphons used at Vespers during the Magnificat on the last seven days of Advent in Western Christian traditions. 18 December: O Adonai
O-Antiphonen • 18.
Pope Leo XIV is expected to appoint the handsome Bishop Ronald Hicks, 58, of Joliet, Illinois, as the 11th Archbishop of New York, replacing Cardinal Timothy Dolan. The rumour was spread by the Spanish-language outlet ReligionDigital.org on December 15 and confirmed by several journalists citing “independent sources.” The appointed is expected for December 18. Liberal journalist Christopher Hale was told: “This is a Chicago priest, advocated by Cardinal Cupich, appointed by a Chicago pope.” Hale describes Bishop Hicks as “more progressive than Cardinal Dolan.” Spiritual hero is Óscar Romero When he began as Bishop of Joliet in 2020, he wore a small photo of Archbishop Óscar Romero of San Salvador on the lapel of his jacket. Romero is a hero of politicized liberation theology. Monsignor Hicks had served as a missionary in El Salvador (2005-2010). Ally of Cardinal Blase Cupich Monsignor Hicks’s relationship with the pro-homosexual Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich is both structural and …More
On the face of it, not encouraging. We must pray, for the Church's sake, New York's sake, and for the same of his own soul that he will be more open to the Holy Spirit than his mentor, the manipulative and conniving Cupich.
Bishop Michael Martin of Charlotte, North Carolina, has banned the public use of kneelers for receiving Communion with effect from 16 January 2026. In a letter published on CharlotteDiocese.org on 17 December, he writes that using them is 'a visible contradiction to the normative posture of Holy Communion established by our episcopal conference'. The text begins with pious or banal quotations. He then admits that it is the right of the faithful to kneel when receiving Holy Communion. But: "The normative posture for all the faithful in the United States is standing." "Faithful individuals who feel compelled to kneel to receive the Eucharist, as is their right, should prayerfully consider the communal blessing that is realised when we share a common posture." Monsignor Martin refers to the norms of the US bishops' conference which "logically" do not envisage the use of kneelers or receiving communion. The three main points of the letter are: 1. Clergy, catechists, ministers of Holy Communion …More

To these words I answer, that God does not wish us entirely and absolutely to neglect or despise the riches and honours of this world. Abraham was an especial favourite with God; and yet he possessed great riches. David also, and Ezechias, and Josias, were most powerful kings; and at the same time most pleasing to God: the same may be said of many Christian kings and emperors. The good things of this life, therefore its riches, honours, and pleasures are not entirely forbidden to Christians, but only an immoderate love of them, which is named by St. John, " the concupiscence of the flesh, …More

Here’s what Bishop Hicks said to progressive Cardinal Blase Cupich, a close ally of both Pope Francis and Pope Leo, at his 2020 installation: “Thank you for your extraordinary leadership to the Church. Thank you for your trust and confidence in me… I want you to know how much I’ve learned directly from you.”
