Leo XIV suppresses Vatican donations commission: Published today, Leo XIV’s document Vinculum unitatis et caritatis abolishes the Commissio de donationibus pro Sancta Sede. This fundraising body was created only in February by Pope Francis during his hospital stay. According to SilereNonPossum, Monsignor Roberto Campisi, who headed the commission, intended to install his own people. All statutes, acts, and mandates of the commission lose immediate force. Its assets pass to the Holy See, with APSA handling liquidation. Oversight of donations and the redesign of the Vatican’s fundraising system is reassigned to the Council for the Economy, the Secretariat for the Economy, and newly appointed working groups, which will develop a new unified model within the Vatican’s ordinary economic structures.
