Hong Kong court hears Cardinal Zen appeal: The Hong Kong Court of Appeal resumed its hearing on 4 December as five trustees of the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund — including Cardinal Joseph Zen — challenged their earlier convictions for failing to register a society under the Societies Ordinance. Defence lawyers countered that the trustees believed the fund, created to offer humanitarian assistance, did not fall under the ordinance’s requirements.
