I suppose having the desire to torture people for fun is also a psychiatric illness in that sense, and they are both certainly disordered attractions, but in the end, aren't they just an attraction to a particular sin. That's not really a question, just a reflection! Satan attacks us all at our weakest point and this lot appear to love co-operating very enthusiastically.

I must admit I've got to the point where I don't really understand why so many people are still seriously debating this type of thing (article contents) in the context of Catholicism - which it obviously isn't. The Church is besieged, infiltrated and occupied and the real problem is how to evict the entire bunch from the Church. That we can't do without God deciding it's time they left (to be polite) and I'm sure He'll do the necessary when He's ready.

That's interesting. If Hitler had remained an everyday person leading an ordinary job, doing eg a labouring job, would he have still been 'mad'. He might have sought power and influence in his own sphere but that's not a sign of being mad.

Definitely the same goes for this Pope but I've never read anything which suggests he started off even irrational, let alone mad, but he appears to now believe his own twaddle. As do the vast majority of Church and secular leaders - they're all half-nuts, so Satan definitely seems to have a lot of power over a lot of people at present and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are literally possessed.
