Legalism: Francis' Diocese "Forbids" ALL Roman Rite Easter Liturgies

The Diocese of Rome "prohibited" the Easter Triduum, all sacraments and sacramentals except Mass according to the Roman Rite with an October 7 decree.

MessaInLatino.it (November 9) calls the ukase “the worst and most restrictive implementation of Traditionis Custodes.”

“It could only come from the diocese of Rome, which from the heart of Christianity has become the epicentre of a senseless war against the Roman liturgy.”

Easter is even "forbidden" in the Roman Parish run by the Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP), in Saints Celsus and Julian Basilica entrusted to the Christ the King Institute (ICRSS), and in other churches where the Roman Mass is celebrated.

In Francis' rigid Anti-Rigidity Church and judgmental Who-Am-I-To-Judge pontificate the axe of "mercy" falls on those who are legitimately anchored in the Church's Tradition, MessaInLatino.it comments, adding, “Hard times for the faithful of Rome and beyond. Good luck... to Pachamama!"

Just for the sake of being precise, the “Easter Triduum” does not include the Mass of Easter Sunday, but that of Holy Thursday, the Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. It has long been forbidden (except for in 2020) to celebrate any of these in private. It has probably been done in order to coerce concelebration on Holy Thursday. If there is no Holy Thursday Mass in a Church, there is no host for the priest to consume on Friday. If the other Sacraments are prohibited, there is no need to bless Baptismal water on Saturday. There could be a nefarious logic to it all.

We have been seduced by vanity, and have not kept thy commandments, and ceremonies and judgments, which thou hast commanded thy servant Moses.’ (Nehemiah 1:5-7)

For many years, the traditional Midnight Mass of Christmas was celebrated in Rome at a church on the via del Corso called Gesù Maria, which was also used by the ICRSP for Sunday Mass. One year, however, the religious order who had charge of the church decided to do their own Midnight Mass at actual midnight, instead of the usual 8 or 9 pm, so the trads had to go elsewhere. A long-standing member of the trad community who somehow didn't get the message that the trad Mass was moved showed up at the Gesù Maria at midnight, and there were 4 people in the congregation. This is the Bergoglian vision of the Church: better to have no Catholics at all than Catholics who worship in the traditional rite.

it's all about accepting the new (c)atholic church ..........

The faithful will go to sspx and will not return. Who really wins this war?

The faithful do not become schismatics. That's a contradiction in terms. ;-)

Cardinal Vicar of Rome issues implementation of motu proprio. Bans all other sacramental rites besides Mass. Bans the Easter Triduum.

"every day, except the Easter Triduum, the faithful may participate in the celebration of the Eucharist according to the Missale Romanum of 1962 in the parish of Santissima Trinità dei Pellegrini (cf. art. 3 §5, Traditionis Custodes)"

Here we have an example or really paradigm, of how the Mass is extracted from its setting. Ironically, because they pride themselves on being all about the Mass, the ideological Novus Ordo-ists *reduce* the Mass by their refusal to acknowledge its organic context, especially in parish life, which is simply the life of the people.
They want to limit the people, making them into consumers of a "preference," an idiosyncrasy that must be occasionally indulged, instead of allowing them to be free, living in a unified world of worship, connected to the whole communion of saints.

In the old days the Roman citizenry would have risen up and tossed these church officials into the Tiber. The Sensus Fidelium at work, so-to-speak.

No, Bigot-Boy. They're attacking Easter, because it's the highpoint of the liturgical year. Most people aren't obsessed with Jews like you.
Ultraviolet
Other faux-Catholic bigots aren't "good company". They can't reconcile hating Jews with Jesus The Jew, either. :P
St. Paul was a Jew himself and he wasn't blaming them for Pope Francis' decree. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 contradicts your stupid claims elsewhere Judaism "ceased to exist with the coming of Christ." (your words) You still haven't caught onto that.

the Gospels are full of examples as well. If Judaism "ceased to exist with the coming of Christ" then why did The Holy Family continue to practice it? Stupid Jew-haters don't know their Scripture.

Foxman's approval does not prove Francis did it for his benefit. Jews focus exclusively on Jewish elements the same way you Jew-haters do. He probably doesn't realize that's just feeding the mad-dogs who want him dead. You following his Tweets is kinda funny. Talk about obsessed, hoo boy. You got it baaaad. I'm no fan of Islam, but I don't follow CAIR's Twitter feed. That's because I'm not a …More

You should go work for the National Vanguard, E. Michael Jones, Stormfront, et. al. you're the biggest disgrace to the Catholic Churh posting on GTV today. I can't say you're the worst bigot I've ever seen, you're definitely not the smartest, either. It isn't a mortal sin to point out your "proof" is garbage.
Ultraviolet
Now let's talk about your mortal sins, Bigot Boy... e.g. your relentless calumny and false witness against me, your constant defamation of people who've done you no wrong, and your unworthy reception of the Eucharist with all these sins unconfessed.
Ultraviolet
Since I made two comments, that means my second comment proves my first one right. :D Notably, this: "You're the biggest disgrace to the Catholic Churh posting on GTV today." :P

Once the faithful go to sspx, they will not come back.

That which was sacred remains sacred. Nobody, including the Pope, can forbid that which is lawful. No Pope, council, or decrees can undo the valid and authoritative teaching of the Council of Trent regarding the TLM and sacraments. Any authority that attempts to is illegitimate and their decrees must not be followed.

At this point, disobedience is the only way. Just ignore it.
Ultraviolet
Or, one obeys the letter of the law and not the spirit. Huge Mass celebrations outside the diocese of Rome. ;-)
John A Cassani
I agree that disobedience is the only option. Only, if the FSSP tried to celebrate the Triduum at Trinità dei Pellegrini, the parish would be suppressed before the procession got to the altar of repose. We need to stop relying on the use of property legally owned by the Church.

Deze kerken moeten los van Rome verdergaan. Paus Franciscus heeft het schisma met deze kerken al uitgesproken op 16 juli 2021 toen hij de Tridentijnse Heilige Mis verbood.
