URGENT - PLEASE READ
From Citizen Go regarding the WHO Pandemic Treaty:
Are you aware of the urgent turn of events regarding the UN’s Pandemic Treaty?
We're in the final stretch, and the stakes couldn't be higher.
A shocking move looks set to attack our basic freedoms, handing over way too much power to the World Health Organization to control how nations handle health crises and your personal health decisions.
This pivotal moment could redefine your liberties, impacting every facet of how you live, work, and make choices about your health and future.
The voices of millions of concerned people worldwide slowed them down, yet they're rallying, pushing to seal this dirty deal by the 27th of May.
They're desperate, willing even to settle for a diluted treaty, just to claim a 'win.' But this 'win' for them is a loss for us, stripping away layers of your freedom, inch by inch. They're convening yet again, in an extra meeting, starting next Monday, April 29, born out of their panic, to patch …More

200 days of war: “Nothing will ever be like before”
on 04/27/24
“I have no doubt: This is the most difficult trial we have had to face,” Cardinal Pizzaballa said of his and his community's struggles.

In a recent interview with Vatican News, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Patriarch of Jerusalem, reflected on the continuing conflict between Israel and Palestine, as it surpassed 200 days since the October 7 invasion of Israel. The cardinal lamented that “not much has changed” in the state of the war in the months since November, but he has recognized a distinct change in himself and his community after spending months with the war looming over their heads.
“I have no doubt: This is the most difficult trial we have had to face,” Cardinal Pizzaballa said as he spoke of his Catholic community’s efforts to stem an “excess of pessimism,” as the tragedies of war unfold every day. He said that prayer has been an excellent tool to help weather this storm as the people deal with uncertainties: …More

Ludovic Duée, 32, captain of Saint-Nazaire Volley-Ball Atlantique (SNVBA), is giving up his [pointless] sporting career to join the Canons of Lagrasse, near Carcassone, a community of the Roman Rite.
SNVBA has a significant presence in French volleyball, being the 5th national club and the 2nd regional club with a strong base of 473 members and 12 coaches.
Duée told Ouest-France.fr (24 April) that he had chosen "between a vocation and a profession". The future canon was born into a Catholic family, but his faith was awakened late in life. "I always believed in God, but I kept to the minimum," he said.
Trapped in his appartment during the Covid hysteria, he experienced loneliness, introspection and healthy existential questioning, and decided to give his life more meaning.
Founded in the 7th century as a Benedictine monastery, the Abbey of St Mary of Lagrasse was revived in 2004 by the Canons of St Augustine. The average age of the canons is 43.

1. Life is a continual battle. “Is not man's life on earth a drudgery?” (Job 7:1) If we consider only the material aspect of this battle, we are all among the vanquished. Admittedly, there is some joy and some victory. But our pleasures are as short-lived as the flowers of the field; they are soon “withered and dried up like grass.” (Cf. Ps. 101:5) Our conquests are also very insignificant; they can inflate us for a while, but they do not last long and cannot satisfy us. After death only our triumphs in virtue will persist. Moreover, whereas the joys of this life are few and fleeting, the physical and moral sufferings are innumerable. Sometimes they are so heavy and overwhelming that they cause us to despair. But surely there is a remedy for all the evils which afflict us? God is infinitely good, and He has permitted suffering. Will He not give us the means of enduring it and the medicine to cure it? In fact, Our Lord has given us a remedy for all our ills, even for the most distressing …More
