Saint Minias (died 250 AD), also known as Minas (Armenian: Մինաս) or Miniatus (Italian: Miniato), is venerated as the first Christian martyr of Florence. The Vatican's “speech of inclusiveness and tolerance is not true, it is ideological and selective,” Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum.com following the Vatican’s ban on the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage procession entering St. Peter’s Basilica today. Schneider criticized the contradiction between the Church’s promotion of synodality and its exclusion of traditional Catholics. “A group of Catholics who are in good standing and recognize the Pope, pray for the Pope, for the bishops — exactly this group was banned,” he said. Schneider suggested that accusations of rejecting Vatican II are being used as a pretext to exclude traditional Catholics. “I think it could be a pretext also that they allegedly reject the Second Vatican Council. This is not the case at all.” He called the ban “very regrettable” and urged that justice be restored to traditional Catholics worldwide, particularly the growing number of young people attached to the ancient liturgy. #newsUccaywykec
