Cdl. Burke: Certainly the present situation does not constitute a state of emergency because in fact the idea behind that {state of emergency argument} is that the faithful who are in the SSPX can’t live their Catholic faith in the Church without having a church within the Church.
But the dogmatic truth is that Our Lord has promised to remain with us in the Church until the last day.

EXCLUSIVE: Cardinal Burke on the Consistory and SSPX consecrations

VATICAN CITY (PerMariam) — Cardinal Raymond Burke has given his assessment of the recent Extraordinary Consistory along with the upcoming episcopal consecrations of the Society of Saint Pius X, noting some remaining concerns about the consistory format, while lamenting the planed consecrations.
Speaking with Per Mariam following the recent consistory, Cdl. Burke offered a summary of the event which drew just under 180 cardinals to Rome for the second such meeting of Leo XIV’s pontificate. As many have similarly done, Burke welcomed the return of consistory’s to the Vatican’s regular life, since it offers a chance to “discuss important questions with regard to the Church.”
But he also raised his concerns about the small table “synodal” group method which has largely replaced the traditional open discussion. As for synodality itself, on which the cardinals were briefed during Saturday’s meeting, the American prelate said that it “remains unresolved.”
“There really needs to be a …

10 Things That Drain a Woman’s Energy
1. Gossip
Talking badly about others may feel satisfying for a moment, but it drains your peace. Protect your energy by stepping away from conversations that are built on judging someone else’s life.
2. Neglecting your body
A woman feels stronger when she treats her body with care. Rest, movement, good food, fresh air, and basic self-care are not vanity. They are part of feeling steady and alive.
3. Bottling up emotions
You don’t have to pretend everything is fine. Pain, disappointment, anger, joy, and tenderness all need space. When a woman constantly hides what she feels, she slowly loses touch with herself.
4. Having no personal passion
Every woman needs something that belongs only to her. A hobby, a creative outlet, a small dream, a quiet interest. Something that reminds her she is more than her responsibilities.
5. Doing nothing for too long
Rest is important, but endless emptiness can become heavy. Even small actions—cleaning one drawer, …More

All around, people looking half-dead,
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head.
This is a quote of the well-known 1966 song Summer in the City, performed by The Lovin’ Spoonful.
Yesterday—on the hottest day of the year in Poland—my sister, who lives in Turin in northern Italy, sent me the following photo. In this regard, Italy can’t impress us: Poland, a distant country in the non-tropical part of Europe, is experiencing comparable temperatures.
41.1°C is approximately 105.98°F.
At this point, the fanatics of global warming will exclaim: “This is, after all, the best proof of global warming—a phenomenon invented by global forces!” According to this logic—which reveals a lack of sound reasoning—an ice age has arrived in Saudi Arabia. These are mere speculations with no basis in the real world.

Leo XIV Writes to FSSPX

Yesterday, Leo XIV wrote to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X. He acknowledged the FSSPX's devotion to Tradition, the liturgy, and priestly formation. He begs them to "turn back" from a prospective "schismatic act", warning of its grave consequences while reaffirming the Church's openness to dialogue and reconciliation. The letter.
To the Reverend Father Davide Pagliarani
Superior General
of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X

With a paternal heart, and aware of the responsibility entrusted to me by the Lord as the Successor of the Apostle Peter, I address you and, through you, the bishops, priests, seminarians and faithful connected to the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X.
The Church recognizes the devotion to liturgical life, commitment to priestly formation, apostolic zeal and desire for fidelity to Tradition that characterize many people and communities connected to your Fraternity. This has motivated the attentive and generous attitude that my Predecessors have consistently shown to you. "In this spirit, and filled with Christian affection, I plead with you and ask you with all my heart: please turn back! I urge you to consider carefully the spiritual good of the faithful, because the schismatic act you are about to undertake would deprive them of the licit and, in some cases, even valid reception of the Sacraments, which they love and seek for their sanctification. ... "I pray for you, because to tear the seamless garment of Christ is a sin of extreme gravity. May the Lord enlighten your consciences and awaken your hearts. With a sorrowful yet hopeful heart, I feel it is my duty, through the authority received from Christ, to ask you to desist from …More

"Roman Mass? It's Not an Attack on Unity" - Cardinal

The Roman rite is "not an attack on the unity of the Church," Cardinal François-Xavier Bustillo, 57, of Ajaccio, France, told Italian daily Il Giornale on June 29.
"The Church also has the Eastern rites, and even in the West we have many rites: I am thinking of the Ambrosian Rite, the Mozarabic Rite, or the Spanish Rite," the Spanish-born cardinal added. In his view, the difficulty arises only when "the search for greater radicality turns into rigidity".
However, Cardinal Bustillo opposes the reversion of Traditionis Custodes. It would be "dangerous," he said, "to send the message that Francis was wrong and that Leo XIV is here to solve the problem."
He believes Leo XIV "will give a response that is fair and well-calibrated."
On the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X, he spoke of "a painful rupture for the Church." He lamented that any new break would come little more than a year into a pontificate centered on the words [!] "peace" and "unity."

I am quite unable to tell in what a wonderful way I journeyed last night in dream. I was in the most different parts of the world and in the most different ages, and very often saw the Feast of Mary’s Conception being celebrated in the most different places. I was in Ephesus, and saw this feast being celebrated in the house of the Mother of God, which was still standing there as a church. It must have been at a very early time, for I saw the Way of the Cross set up by Mary herself still in perfect preservation. [The second Way of the Cross was set up in Jerusalem and the third in Rome.]

2.15 A PARALLEL VISION OF CHILD SACRIFICE.
After seeing at night in my sleep the fearful picture of the murdered child on my right hand
, I turned over in horror in my bed, but saw it again on my left hand. I begged God most earnestly to free me from this dreadful sight. I woke up and heard the clock strike. My heavenly Bridegroom said to me, pointing round Him as He spoke: ‘See far more evil that befalls Me every day at the hands of many throughout the whole world.’ And as I looked about me into the distance, many things came before my soul which were indeed still more dreadful than that sacrifice of children; for I saw Jesus Himself cruelly sacrificed on the Altar by unworthy and sinful celebrations of the Holy Mysteries. I saw how the blessed Host lay on the altar before unworthy degenerate priests like a living Child Jesus, whom …More

When do we reject the Gospel?

"At times, I have failed to place an image of our Savior's Mother beside His Cross. At such times, I have always found the people rebellious to the Gospel!"

Every day I looked for your post to see which flowers you were offering to The Blessed Mother. They were all beautiful. If I was very happy to see what you did, imagine how much more happiness you made Our Holy Mother! I am sure she was glowing with happiness. Picturing her with a warm smile for what you did for her. May GOD Bless you and Our Holy Mother pour her graces on you. You set that up so beautifully. Would you mind very much if I kept this picture for myself please?

The broom cupboard of sinecures: the nun with an appetite for Czerny’s chair

Vatican City - The Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development is one of the clearest examples of the tendency that has shaped the Roman Curia in recent years: creating vast bureaucratic catch-alls, giving them an almost limitless remit and then calling “reform” what has, in reality, been an enormous administrative mess. Francis’s project was presented as that of a Pope capable of streamlining the machinery and bringing the Curia back to essentials. The result was the exact opposite: offices merged only on paper, new appointments, new chains of command and a proliferation of posts to be handed out and protected. In the Vatican, many are convinced that they can distribute positions, salaries, titles and power. Francis handed out a great many of them.
This became particularly clear when Praedicate Evangelium was promulgated. It was not simply a case of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire, many commented within the Leonine walls: this had gone well beyond that. The …

Toronto's Cardinal Leo posts great message for Canada Day, but where is the action?

Canada Day is a statutory holiday to mark the anniversary of the Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867. So on July 1 it's Canada's birthday. For the occasion, Toronto's Cardinal Frank Leo has released a good message. He rightly reflects on the meaning of being human, of freedom and truth. What kind of nation are we building? What are we celebrating? Here's what he says:
My Dear Brothers and Sisters,
May Jesus and Mary be in your hearts.
In the coming days we will celebrate Canada Day, a time when we rightly commemorate what Canada is: a land of peace, opportunity, and security. Gratitude matters, and it is important to recognize our blessings and give thanks. Yet this year, I would invite the faithful of the Archdiocese of Toronto to consider a deeper, more searching question undergirding our celebrations: “Who are we becoming?” not only as individuals, but as a nation.
Many of the tensions we experience today—our debates, divisions, polarization and uncertainties—…

Why Liturgy Was Left Out at the Consistory

Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline of Marseille, France, told French daily Le Figaro on June 25 why liturgy was left off the agenda for the June consistory.
Recalling the January consistory, where he served as secretary of one of the French-speaking discussion groups, Aveline said: "At that table, I voted in favor of discussing the liturgy—but I was the only one."
The other French-speaking cardinals in his group came from different countries and did not regard liturgy as a priority.
According to Aveline, a similar pattern emerged in many other discussion groups. As a result, the liturgical question received the fewest votes and was not included among the topics for the June consistory.
