Leo XIV Accepts Secularised Mitre as Gift: Rev. Tom McCarthy, a Chicago priest and fellow Augustinian, gave Leo XIV a Chicago White Sox “Pope Hat” at the Vatican. The mitre-shaped hat was originally produced en masse by the Chicago White Sox baseball team as a giveaway for their August 11 game. Leo XIV has been a White Sox fan since childhood and attended Game 1 of the 2005 World Series.

Why Saint John the Baptist Is a Model for Those Who Have the Courage to Say No

by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
There is a universal crisis inside society today that seeks to overturn all things Christian. Catholic thinker Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira called this universal crisis the Revolution - with a capital R. He held that the two driving forces of this Revolution are the vices of pride and sensuality.
The following commentaries show how Saint John the Baptists is a model for all those who wish to oppose this Revolution today, especially in fighting its two central vices.
Leveling the mountains of pride and filling the valleys of impurity, Saint John the Baptist is a model of those who say no to the present Revolution against Christianity.
*

Saint John the Baptist said to Herod back then that which no one today dares to say to the Revolution now: It is not lawful for you to do what you are doing. You cannot do it.
He told Herod to his face: it is not lawful for you to take your brother’s wife as a wife. Thus, Herod lived in adultery with this woman. By denouncing him …More

St Augustine’s Secret To Finding God
St. Augustine’s journey from heresy to sainthood exemplifies the transformative power of God’s grace. His life teaches us that true fulfillment comes from seeking God within, rejecting materialism, and embracing love and truth. Through prayer, understanding, and a commitment to love, we can empty our hearts of worldly distractions and allow God to fill them with His presence.

Actor Jim Caviezel said that after he started talking about adrenochrome, Hollywood allegedly blacklisted him overnight and he was dropped by his agency. "I've brought this up a few years ago and all of a sudden I was attacked by every media. Look it up, it's there."

A very courgeous man! No surprise they blacklisted him.

Are people arguing over who to blame: Russia or the Jews?

It would seem so, but I contend they're almost one and the same.

The Disease, the Cause and the Cure
Every day, Catholic writers publish another article warning us about what is going wrong in the Church. Synodality, conciliarism, liturgical abuses, doctrinal confusion — the list seems endless. Much of what they write is true, necessary and long overdue. But after reading so much of it, one question becomes increasingly difficult to avoid: are we going to keep describing the disease, or will someone finally dare to speak about its cause — and about the cure?

The Disease, the Cause and the Cure

Every day, Catholic writers publish another article warning us about what is going wrong in the Church. Synodality, conciliarism, liturgical abuses, doctrinal confusion — the list seems endless. Much of what they write is true, necessary and long overdue. But after reading so much of it, one question becomes increasingly difficult to avoid: are we going to keep describing the disease, or will someone finally dare to speak about its cause — and about the cure? Of course, modernist synodality is poison for the Church. It is the same evil spirit of Protestantism, but now in an even more progressive guise in this technically modern but spiritually rotten time in which we live. But is it enough to keep writing about how bad the disease is, instead of trying to eliminate its real cause? Indeed, there are more than enough writings about what even the birds in the trees already know. Writing about how synodalism, conciliarism — in fact, modernism as a whole — are grievously harmful to the Church …

Well, the cure should be proper to the level. For example, different are responsibilities (and capabilities) of bishops and simple laymen.

Uh, Matthew 16: "I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Guess Francis didn't have the Petrine office after all..

Do you think according to God or according to men?
Liturgy of August 30, 2026- Twenty-second Sunday of Ordinary Time
Jesus, just as in his time invited Peter and his apostles to think according to God and not according to men, in every time and every place, He keeps on addressing the same heartfelt appeal to his disciples. Actually in every time and every place, His disciples keep on taking the risk to be no longer the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Nowadays the most dangerous threat to Christian faith is the rampant neo-paganism.
This is the dangerous fate facing the once-West-Christian-World, which nowadays seems to have no other god than the ego to please in all its desires, whims, and perversions.
Peter's "misstep", so to speak, and the immediate, decisive intervention of the divine Master reassure us. Jesus was, is, and always will be alive and present in His Church, and no one, not even the Pope , will ever be able to change the extraordinary plan for humanity that …More

Israeli Settler Who Attacked French Catholic Nun Acquitted

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court has acquitted Yona Simcha Schreiber, 36, of criminal responsibility for a violent attack on a French Catholic nun in April.
The court accepted psychiatric evidence that he was psychotic at the time of the assault. He could neither understand the nature of his actions nor control them, the court ruled.
He was ordered to undergo compulsory psychiatric hospitalization for up to six years.
The attack occurred on Mount Zion, near King David’s Tomb outside Jerusalem’s Old City. Security footage showed Schreiber running toward the 48-year-old nun from behind and knocking her violently to the ground, causing her head to strike the stone pavement.
Schreiber initially walked away before returning and kicking the nun while she remained on the ground. He also assaulted a passerby who attempted to intervene.
The victim is a researcher at the Dominican-run École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem.
Schreiber is a resident of Peduel, an illegal settlement …More
