Advent Fast

The early Latin Church, especially in the West (Gaul, Spain), observed a
40-day penitential fast for Advent, known as "St. Martin's Lent," starting after St. Martin's Day (November 11) and lasting until Christmas, mirroring Lent's length and penitential nature before the Roman Rite formalized it to four weeks by the 9th-11th centuries.
Ancient Practice: The 40-day Advent was a recognized penitential season in the early centuries, a "Little Lent" for preparing for Christ's coming.
Start Date: It began on November 11th, following the feast of St. Martin of Tours.
Quadragesima Sancti Martini: This was its Latin name, meaning "Forty Days Fast of St. Martin".

According to the V2 church, fast is the opposite of slow.

Bishop Athanasius Schneider told Diane Montagna that he wished the substance of his meeting with Pope Leo XIV on December 18 to remain confidential. The private audience lasted just over half an hour.
“I am deeply grateful to Pope Leo XIV for granting me a private audience, during which I was able to share several proposals aimed at the spiritual good of the Church. I was impressed by the Holy Father’s attentiveness and understanding. Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV, that he may strengthen the faith and promote justice and peace in the liturgical life of the Church.”

WATCH: Fr. Dave Nix Explains Why Bishops Are Silent On Leo

Joining me on this episode of The John Henry Westen Show is Father David Nix. We discussed Pope Leo’s downgrading of Our Lady’s titles of “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of All Graces,” why bishops refuse to call out the new pontiff’s errors as they did with Pope Francis, and more.
We first discussed how radically the Church hierarchy has changed over the past 20 years and Pope Leo’s strange comments about how those who are in favor of the death penalty are “not pro-life.” We then delved into the recent Vatican
doctrinal note that discouraged the faithful from using Our Lady’s titles of “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of All Graces.”
I noted that the Vatican’s justification of the title — that it is confusing to Protestants — doesn’t withstand scrutiny, since biblically-literate Protestants would recognize that all grace and truth comes through Our Lord Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ came through Mary, and therefore her role as “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of All Graces” …

THE MAN WHO KILLED ST. MARIA GORETTI🇻🇦
This is Alessandro Serenelli, (the man who killed St Maria Goretti for not allow him to defile her in 1902) venerating the image of Maria Goretti.
Alessandro was sentenced to 30 years in prison. At his trial, he blamed Maria for her own death claiming that he was defending himself from a sexual attack that she herself instigated. In prison he was locked in isolation as his anger would lead to outbursts of physical violence against other inmates.
One night, six years into his prison sentence, Maria appeared to
Alessandro. She appeared in a garden picking 14 white lily flowers, handing them to him one by one. This gesture of forgiveness, this act of love, filled Alessandro with light and the Holy Spirit. He immediately became contrite for what he did to that little girl.
He finished the rest of his sentence in tranquility. In fact, his behavior became so docile, and the transformation of his person was so dramatic, that he was released three years …More

Leo XIV Outlines Consistory: "Preserving Tradition While Open to Legitimate Progress"

Writing on IlGiornale.it, Nico Spuntoni confirmed that Pope Leo XIV has sent his Christmas letter to the cardinals. He thanks them for their support and describes the January 7–8 extraordinary consistory as a moment of communion and shared responsibility.
The letter identifies four topics for discussion at the consistory:
- Renewed evangelisation in light of 'Evangelii Gaudium'.
- The relationship between the universal Church and dioceses, as addressed in 'Praedicate Evangelium'.
- The Synod and synodality as instruments of collaboration with the Roman Pontiff.
- The liturgy: through in-depth theological, historical, and pastoral reflection "in order to retain sound tradition and yet remain open to legitimate progress.” This quotation comes from Sacrosanctum Concilium 23, which sets out general norms for the reform of the Mass.
Spuntoni hopes: 'This passage appears to leave open the possibility of discussion among the cardinals regarding how to address the steadily growing communities …More

Two of my problems with Leo XIV are that he seems to believe more in Francis Bergoglio than in the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Apostles.
The second one is that there were only a very small number of Catholic Cardinals at his "election."
I think Francis was not a pope because of a canonical defect in his "election," and Leo has no pontifical infallibility because the ministry of the apostle Peter was not bestowed upon him because of the massive number of fake Cardinals at the last conclave (most of them appointed by Francis).
When I say fake Cardinals, I do not mean it in the way of the heretical and schismatic sedevacantists who reject all of them for erroneous reasons (even Cardinal Brandmüller).
I rather mean it for genuine reasons, such as their tolerance for mortal sin, such as homosexuality or the use of contraception. They are rejecting the Revelation of the Son of God.
One cannot be the successor of the Apostles and, at the same time, open the doors of Hell wider …More

Albany’s retired bishop files for personal bankruptcy

National Catholic Register, Dec 19, 2025 / 12:24 pm
A retired New York bishop has filed for personal bankruptcy protection in federal court after a state jury verdict found him, along with other officials, personally liable for the collapse of a Catholic hospital pension fund that left about 1,100 retirees without the lifetime monthly payments they were expecting.
It’s not clear whether a Catholic bishop in the United States has ever previously filed for personal bankruptcy protection.
Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, 77, who served as bishop of Albany from April 2014 until his retirement in October, is seeking protection from creditors for his assets valued at between $100,001 and $500,000, according to a filing Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York.
The seven-page filing does not list the bishop’s assets but states that he has between 100 and 199 creditors and debts totaling between $1,000,001 and $10 million.
Last week, a jury found Scharfenberger …

Chemist Challenges Evolution: Life Works Only as a Fully Integrated System

James Tour, Chemistry Professor at Rice University, Houston, Texas, told Tucker Carlson on December 15 why the evolution theory is a “myth”. He points especially to the origin of life and evolutionary mechanisms at the molecular level. Main arguments.
No chemical mechanism for evolution
“I don’t understand the chemistry behind the evolutionary process. […] Tell me about the molecular interactions that are going to have to occur, the changes at the molecular level and how that happens.”
Origin of life is completely unknown
“We have no idea how life was created. We have no idea.”
All of life requires four molecular systems—and none arise prebiotically
“You have to have four classes of compounds. You have the lipids, which surround every one of our cell structures. You have the polysaccharides. You have the nucleotides which are RNA and DNA. And then you have the polypeptides which are proteins. Nobody has ever made those polymers, any classes, any of those, by a prebiotic route.” …More

No species needs to change into another. Each species functions according to its inherent nature.
A descendant of one species is another member of that same species. It cannot change.
God created each species directly. And finally, man from the dust of the earth. Directly. And woman from man's rib.
The Church has never accepted evolution. That is now due to the loss of faith by so many.

“Grown under the mentorship of Cardinal Cupich”: At the first press conference, Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York, said he comes from Chicago where he “was formed under the care of Cardinal Bernardin, the witness of Cardinal George, and the mentorship of Cardinal Cupich.” He added that he grew up 14 blocks from Pope Leo XIV. Furthermore, he switched to Spanish and said he loves the Latino culture. Finally, he said a lot of people are trying to "figure out" who he is and claimed: "I love Jesus, with my mind, heart and soul".

At his first press conference (look at the facial expressions from Dolan), the new Archbishop of New York, Ronald Hicks, said he grew up 14 blocks from Pope Leo and told Cardinal Pierre, when called about the appointment, that he wanted to “do the will of God” with “great humility” and an “open heart.”
He said he comes from Chicago, having served under Cardinal Bernardin, been a witness to Cardinal George, and mentored by Cardinal Cupich.
Offering his “first controversial statement,” Hicks said he is a Cubs fan and will remain one.
He pledged to learn the issues facing the archdiocese, including funds set aside to resolve sexual abuse claims, stressing that the Church must never stop working to prevent abuse, protect children, and care for survivors.
Switching to Spanish, he expressed his love for Latino culture.
Addressing those trying to “figure out” who he is, he said: “I love Jesus, with my mind, heart, and soul,” calling it his mission statement.

Not to be mean, but she acts like Tammy Baker. All you need is ONE ring on your finger and not rings on all your fingers. The low-cut blouses are not nice, and pant suits are very un-lady like.

Together with the Saints of the Old Covenant, let us implore God to send the Messiah and, in spirit, contemplate the darkness of error and sin in which humanity groaned before the birth of God. Let our hearts respond with love; let them strive to repay, even in part, the debt of gratitude to the Redeemer who did not hesitate to descend to earth and share the misery of His creation.
He desires our prayers and waits for them.
After fulfilling this first duty, let us pause and fix our thoughts on the mysterious coming of the Good Shepherd, who not only safeguards His entire flock but also spares no effort or labor for each individual sheep, for each is equally dear to Him.

Advent in the life of the soul

The Church of St. solemnly prepares for the reception of Christ, just like the wise virgins who cleansed their lamps to welcome the Bridegroom.
“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.(Luke XII, 35–36.)
Redeemed souls are like living stones, forming the edifice of the Church. Each of them is the object of the same care that God bestows upon the Church, which He purchased with His own Blood (Acts XX, 28). Thus, each of us can boldly repeat with St. Paul: The Son of God loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Gal. II, 20.) This unity of purpose compels us to see the Church’s destiny as our own and to align our minds and hearts with its thoughts and dispositions.
Together with the Saints of the Old Covenant, let us implore God to send the Messiah and, in spirit, contemplate the darkness of error and sin in which humanity …

Hammer Drops On Clintons: Appear For Epstein Depositions Or Face Contempt Of Congress

House Oversight Chairman James Comer is done playing games with Bill and Hillary Clinton, warning them that their endless delays in the Epstein probe will lead straight to contempt charges if they don’t comply.
With subpoenas issued months ago and the Clintons dodging every step, Comer’s latest ultimatum ramps up the pressure on the deep state darlings, exposing their ties to the convicted pedophile’s network amid calls for full transparency.
As we reported last month, the Clintons outright refused to honor subpoenas demanding depositions on their connections to Jeffrey Epstein, prompting outrage from Republicans like Rep. Anna Paulina Luna who blasted Democrats for their sudden silence on the matter.
The subpoenas, dropped in August by Comer, originally set Hillary’s testimony for October 9 and Bill’s for October 14. Instead of showing up, their lawyers begged for delays, only to ghost the committee entirely—classic stonewalling from elites who think rules don’t apply to them.

We aren't Protestant Fundamentalists who interpret all verses of Scripture literally [but to be fair they don't even apply this to all verses, example: John 6]. Jesus used hyperbole to make a point. Just like he doesn't want us to cut off our hands, or gouge out our eyes if we sin with them!

I think of this Holy Family a lot. A couple that procreated angels.

With Vatican Council II ( rational ) the SSPX is in the mainline Catholic Church which can no more be liberal.

With Vatican Council II ( rational ) the SSPX is in the mainline Catholic Church which can no more be liberal. The Council has changed. This is known here at the Vatican and Pope Leo and the Holy See Press Office are not responding. Neither are the traditionalists and the sedevacantists.
The mainline Catholic Church is liberal today because Vatican Council II is liberal. The SSPX and the MHT sedevacantists interpret ‘the red passages as exceptions for the blue orthodox ones in Vatican Council II. This is irrational. It has to change
When the SSPX and the sedevacantists interpret ‘the red as not being an exception for the blue’, the Council is no more liberal.
This is a sea change in the Catholic Church. We return automatically to the ecclesiology of St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine. We side step the irrational theology of the popes from Paul VI to Leo XIV.
