Those present were kind enough not to laugh. His aim at his synod is to "discuss [= question] doctrine" and "move forward" [into the abyss].
Francis openly lied that his synod is following the "ancient reality" of the Eastern Churches while Eastern synods are not staffed by lay people.
When asked about a recent book, supported by Cardinal Burke, that the synod is a Pandora's box, Francis launched an ad hominem attack claiming that "they" defend Catholic doctrine "like distilled water, which has no taste and is not true Catholic doctrine."
Although China has twice violated its agreement with the Vatican, Francis pretended that "the relationship with China is very respectful, very respectful." Again, no one laughed.
On his remarks on Russia, Francis now said that it "was not appropriate" to invoke the "imperialists" Peter I, Catherine II [= a German] and that they came to his mind "because I had studied them at school".
He went on projecting that "in the Church too, we must distinguish between doctrine and ideology: true doctrine is never ideological, never." So why then, is Francis such an ideologue?
For Francis, doctrine is "rooted in God's holy faithful people", whom he openly despises, apart from the fact that doctrine is rooted in Revelation.
He insists that "ideology is divorced from reality, divorced from the people.” But who decides what is "reality" and what is "the people"?
