It goes without saying that Francis applies this only to the truth spoken by Christ and contained in the Gospel.
When it comes to heresy, fighting Holy Mass, environmentalism, homosexualism, Covid-19, vaccine ideology, Francis is a narrow-minded guardian of the system of doctrines and dogmas of these ideologies, as can be seen here, here, here, here, here, and here.
For Catholics and the Church, however, it is a duty and privilege "to contend for the faith" (Jude 1:3) and "to defend" it (1 Peter 3:15) not only in an abstract Francis way but in its concrete presence in doctrines and dogmas. The Catholic "destroys" arguments raised against the knowledge of God (2 Cor 10:5), is devoted to the "accurate teachings," and "corrects those who oppose the word" (Titus 1:9). Saint Paul was sent "for the defence of the Gospel" (Phil 1:16).
As Saint John Henry Newman (+1890) put it, “From the age of fifteen, dogma has been the fundamental principle of my religion: I know no other religion; I cannot enter into the idea of any other sort of religion; religion, as a mere sentiment, is to me a dream and a mockery."
"Dream" and "dreaming" are words, Francis likes a lot.
