Senate to Display January 6 Police Honor Plaque
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate has agreed to display a plaque honoring the police who defended the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack, rebuffing House Speaker Mike Johnson, who has said the commemorative memorial does not comply with the law.
The action happened swiftly, with brief debate, in floor action Thursday. Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina had announced during this week’s fifth anniversary of the Capitol siege that he would seek to ensure the plaque is installed, partnering with Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, who was also working on the situation, and Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla of California. No senators objected.
“A lot of people said it was a dark day for democracy,” Tillis said about Jan. 6, 2021, describing his memory of hearing the thousands of people — “thugs,” he said — lay siege to the Capitol as Congress was tallying the 2020 election results.
He said that because of the work of the law …More

Related: before the Universal Flood, we didn't need to eat meat (and weren't allowed to).
But the Flood changed everything to be much worse than before...
Now we can't stay healthy without eating meat/fish. We should be aware of that fact!

Surrendering to the Holy Spirit
Liturgy of Sunday, January 11, Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
Dear brothers and sisters, John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus, knew that his baptism was simply an invitation to the "little remnant" of the people of Israel to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, who would instead baptize them in the Holy Spirit and fire... that's why, when he saw Jesus approaching him to be baptized, he humbly said, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?"
It's just like this, dear brothers and sisters, Jesus comes into this world, we might say, with a single mission: to immerse us in His Spirit, to transform us in His Spirit, to make us "spiritual people," children of God...
The Spirit of Jesus, present in us from baptism, begins a process of divinization that, once completed, will make us like the Risen Jesus, for we will see Him, in the Holy Paradise, just as He is...
Whoever has this hope in Him, St. John the Apostle reminds us, purifies himself …More

Leo XIV: “All Religions Quest for One Divine Mystery”

Pope Leo XIV met today with members of the Diplomatic Corps. Key points of his address largely drawing from St Augustine and Benedict XVI and Francis. Main phrases.
- This past year saw […] the return to the Father’s house of my venerable predecessor, Pope Francis. The whole world gathered around his coffin on the day of his funeral, and sensed the loss of a father who had guided the People of God with immense pastoral charity.
- The weakness of multilateralism is a particular cause for concern at the international level. A diplomacy that promotes dialogue and seeks consensus among all parties is being replaced by a diplomacy based on force, by either individuals or groups of allies.
Peace as Domination
- War is back in vogue and a zeal for war is spreading.
- The principle established after the Second World War, which prohibited nations from using force to violate the borders of others, has been completely undermined.
- “Peace” is sought through weapons as a condition for asserting …More

A mixed bag... though he made a few good points about "freedom of expression" & "freedom of conscience" [which is a VERY misused concepts - employed by dissenters from the Truths of the Faith for decades!], he doubled-down on migration AND the role of the United Nations. Both of these are issues show a liberal bias. IOW continuation of Francis' agenda.

‘Men of Arab descent’ accused of luring underage girls with drugs as 16-year-old girl found dead in Vienna hotel room – Allah's Willing Executioners

Underage girls in Austria are reportedly being approached by men of Arab descent who offer them drugs and promise more in Vienna, it has been claimed, after authorities revealed the death of another 16-year-old girl in a Viennese hotel room.
As reported by
Heute, investigators have concluded that the victim likely died from a drug overdose after she was discovered in a hotel near Vienna’s Stadthalle on Oct. 31 last year. Information regarding the death was only released on Thursday.
According to Austrian broadcaster ORF, sexual exploitation by a migrant gang is among the scenarios being examined by investigators.
Heute reports that seven minors under the age of 18 who were under the supervision of child and youth services died in Vienna in 2025 as a result of drug use. Many of those affected are girls from unstable family environments or living in foster or group care.
Incidents are not limited to the Austrian capital, with Salzburg also reportedly a breeding ground for gangs preying …

Accused of False Statement - Nicaraguan Cardinal Was Invited to Consistory

Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes, 76, of Managua, Nicaragua, did not attend the consistory held in Rome on 7–8 January. He stated that he was not invited, claiming that he had checked his emails, WhatsApp messages and communications from the College of Cardinals.
However, on 8 January, senior Church sources told LaPrensaNi.com that Cardinal Brenes had received an invitation to participate in the consistory but had refused to go for undisclosed reasons.
The sources also indicated that there may be ongoing or attempted negotiations with the Nicaraguan government. The Church has faced sustained confrontation with the Ortega regime, resulting in persecution, restrictions on religious activity and the forced exile of several bishops.

Polish Teacher Disposes Cross - Protesters Rally Outside School

On 15 December 2025, a teacher at a primary school in Kielno, Poland, asked pupils to remove a cross from the classroom wall.
When the pupils refused, the teacher removed the cross herself and threw it into a trash bin.
Yesterday, a protest in defense of the cross took place outside the primary school, according to Wiadomosci.Onet.pl. It drew local residents, members of Gazeta Polska Clubs, opposition politicians, and the parents of one of the pupils. Among those present were Members of Parliament Michał Kowalski and Dorota Arciszewska-Mielewczyk from the Law and Justice party (PiS).
Following the incident, the Mayor of Szemud Municipality had filed a notification with the District Prosecutor’s Office in Wejherowo concerning the alleged disposal of the cross.
Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda of Gdańsk said he expects thorough and reliable explanations from the authorities responsible for the school.
Pending clarification of the matter, the school principal suspended the teacher from her duties. …More

Pope Likely To Visit Spain In 2026, Says Madrid Archbishop | SG News
Cardinal José Cobo, Archbishop of Madrid, has hinted that Pope Leo XIV may visit Spain in 2026, potentially coinciding with the June centenary of architect Antoni Gaudí’s death and the inauguration of the central tower of the Sagrada Família Basilica. Speaking on Cadena COPE radio, the cardinal encouraged preparations while noting that the dates and details are still being finalized. The invitation to Barcelona came from Catalonia’s President Salvador Illa during a private audience with the Pope, who responded positively. Gaudí, recently declared Venerable by Pope Francis, dedicated his life to glorifying God through the iconic basilica, which remains the tallest Catholic Church under construction in the world.
