Stuttgart:Hans Holbein the Elder-The Grey Passion in its Time

DieStaatsgalerie | October 07, 2010 The Grey Passion by Hans Holbein the Elder has always been considered a major work of German painting of the Late Gothic era. A fascinating part of the exhibition (27 Nov 2010 -- 20 Mar 2011) is the presentation of the painstaking restoration of the Grey Passion. Begun in 2008 it is the largest conservation and restoration project undertaken by the Staatsgalerie, Stuttgart, Germany, to date.
