Leo XIV appointed two bishops closely connected to Madrid's existing 🌈 administration.
Today, Pope Leo XIV appointed two new auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Madrid, Spain: Fernando Murga Gómez and Andrés Martínez Esteban.
Leo XIV Reinforces Cobo’s Leadership in Madrid
According to InfoVaticana.com, Murga is one of Cardinal Cobo's closest collaborators. Martínez Esteban represents the less progressive clergy.
VidaNuevaDigital.com reports today that both appointments match the profile Cardinal Cobo personally requested.
Cardinal Cobo of Madrid is known for homosex scandals like receiving a homosexual group. One controversy is his association with Father José Castro Cea (“Josete”), who reportedly lived next door to him and appeared in a gay-bar video. InfoVaticana alleged that Cobo protected the homosex priest for years.
Auxiliary Bishop Fernando Murga Gómez, 61, originally trained as an architect and worked in that profession before entering the priesthood.

Bishop Heiner Wilmer, chairman of the German Bishops’ Conference, confirms that Holy Communion for divorced and civilly remarried Catholics was discussed “at length and with some controversy” during the Vatican meeting marking ten years of Amoris laetitia. The discussions took place in Bishop Wilmers Italian-speaking working group, which included Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández and bishops from China, Mongolia, Poland, Mexico and elsewhere. Bishop Wilmer said differing views on the relationship between canon law and the pastoral approach of Amoris laetitia “became clear.”

Profile
Younger brother of Saint Deicola. Studied at Bangor Abbey under Saint Comgall of Bangor and Saint Columba. Bible scholar. Priest. One of the twelve who accompanied Saint Columbanus to France and helped found Luxeuil Abbey. He followed Columbanus into exile in 610 and then to Austrasia, where he preached with little success around Lake Zurich, and near Bregenz.
Illness forced Gall to leave Columbanus‘s party in 612, though some say the leader suspected Gall of malingering, and imposed a penance on him, which Gall faithfully observed, of not celebrating Mass during Columba‘s life. When he recovered, Gall lived as a hermit on the Steinach River, attracting disciples. Saint Gall Monastery occupied this site, becoming a center of literature, the arts, and music, though legend to the contrary, Saint Gall did not found it. Worked there with Saint …More

Gall (Latin: Gallus; c. 550 – c. 645) according to hagiographic tradition was a disciple and one of the traditional twelve companions of Columbanus on his mission from Ireland to the continent. However, he may have originally come from the border region between Lorraine and Alemannia and only met Columbanus at the monastery of Luxeuil in the Vosges. Gall is known as a representative of the Irish monastic tradition. The Abbey of Saint Gall in the city of Saint Gallen, Switzerland was built upon his original hermitage. Deicolus was the elder brother of Gall.

Wednesday, 27th August 1913: Lawyers Want Rest Before Defending Woman Accused Of Poisoning Rich Husband, The Atlanta Georgian
The Atlanta Georgian,
Wednesday, 27th August 1913,
PAGE 7.
Postponed four weeks ago until after the close of the trial of Leo Frank, it is probable that the reopening of the famous Crawford will case, in which Mrs. Mary Belle Crawford is charged with poisoning her husband, Joshua B. Crawford, will again be delayed until after the hearing of the arguments for a new Frank trial on October 4. Should Judge Roan decline to grant a new trial, it is probable that the Crawford case will be postponed until after an appeal is taken to the Court of Appeals, at the request of Attorneys Reuben Arnold and Luther Rosser, who are counsel for both Mrs. Crawford and for Frank.
Colonel J. S. James, one of the attorneys for the heirs at law to the Crawford case, stated Wednesday morning he did not expect the case to be reopened until the Frank case was definitely settled one way or …

Four innocent lives—three young children aged five, eight, and eleven, alongside a devoted teacher—were taken in an instant. Outside the school perimeter, heartbroken neighbors gathered to light candles, while a seven-year-old child and another teacher remain hospitalized in critical condition. Police report that a sixteen-year-old attacker forced entry by firing through the locked doors before being confronted and fatally shot by an armed community member. So what exactly are the Seven Noahide Laws, and why should Christians be paying attention?
Unlike the Ten Commandments, the Noahide Laws are not commandments specifically for the Jewish people. Within rabbinic Judaism, they are understood as universal laws given by God to the descendants of Noah, which means, effectively, all of humanity.
They are:
1. Do not worship idols
2. Do not blaspheme God
3. Do not murder
4. Do not steal
5. Do not engage in prohibited sexual relations
6. Do not eat flesh taken from a living animal
7. Establish courts of justice
At first glance, most people would probably consider these perfectly reasonable moral principles. Don’t murder, don’t steal, establish justice… But there is a fundamental question hidden within them that Christians in particular need to understand.
Who defines “idolatry”?
Because Judaism does not recognise Jesus Christ as God or as the Messiah, and within classical rabbinic Judaism there are authorities who regarded Christian worship of …More

Prisoner Prepares Statement to Combat What he Terms Distortion of Facts.
"Dorsey's speech was as full of holes as a sieve! If I could have had just one hour to reply to his eight-hour address I am confident I could have shown the jury that I was an innocent man and that the Solicitor was misrepresenting the facts in order to obtain a conviction."
This was a statement made by Leo M. Frank to friends who visited him in the jail Wednesday.
"Dorsey twisted and contorted the real circumstances of the case until they were unrecognizable," he continued. "He altered everything that was said and everything that was done until it seemed to point to my guilt. If I could have spoken only briefly after he finished his eight-hour speech I could have shown, I am sure, that he departed from the facts of the case wherever it suited …

On February 12, 2025, the Nascent Sanhedrin in Jerusalem sent an extraordinary letter to Donald Trump. They told him:
“You have been elected, as Cyrus was in his time, to fulfill a heavenly mission.”
Cyrus the Great was the King of Persia who conquered Babylon in 539 BC and allowed the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem. According to the biblical account, he authorised the rebuilding of the Temple and the return of its sacred vessels.
Isaiah even refers to Cyrus as God’s “anointed”.
Cyrus was not Jewish. He was a powerful gentile ruler whom the biblical narrative presents as being used by God to facilitate the restoration of Jerusalem and the Temple.
So when Jewish religious authorities describe Trump as a modern-day Cyrus, we should understand precisely what that comparison means.
For years, certain Jewish religious and Temple movements have associated Trump with Cyrus, particularly following his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In 2018, the Sanhedrin even minted a “Temple …More

Monday, 18th August 1913: Dies Dreaming Of Little Phagan Girl, The Atlanta Journal
The Atlanta Journal,
Monday, 18th August 1913,
PAGE 4, COLUMN 6.

Mary Phagan's Grandmother Dies at Family Residence After Dream of Mary
Just a few hours after she had dreamed that little Mary Phagan was alive and in the room with her, Mrs. A. E. Benton, the grandmother of the murdered girl, died at 9:40 o'clock Sunday night of old age infirmities, aggravated by grief over Mary's fate.
Saturday night she dreamed that Mary was alive and well and at her bedside. It may have been the illusion of delirium preceding the final collapse of her faculties. At any rate, when she waked Sunday morning, she told her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Coleman, mother of the murdered child, that Mary had been with her in her dreams. She described vividly how Mary looked, and seemed happy over her dream.
"My mother's eyes were bright when she told me of this, and I thought she was better," said Mrs. Coleman. "Later I learned the cruel …
