DECEMBER 16 2025 THE GOSPEL
breski1
Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 21,28-32.
Jesus said to the chief priests and the elders of the people: "What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, 'Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.'
He said in reply, 'I will not,' but afterwards he changed his mind and went.
The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, 'Yes, sir,' but did not go.
Which of the two did his father's will?" They answered, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him."

Substack Imposes Digital ID Checks in Australia Under Online Safety Act

Australian readers opening Substack this fall have found a new step inserted between curiosity and the page. Click the wrong post and a full-screen message appears, informing users they “may be asked to verify your age before viewing certain content.”
Due to authoritarian internet laws, reading now comes with paperwork.
Substack says the change is not a philosophical shift but a legal one. The trigger is
Australia’s Online “Safety” Act, a regulatory framework that treats written words with the same suspicion once reserved for explicit video.
The law requires platforms to block or filter material deemed age-restricted, even when that material is lawful.
The Online Safety Act hands the eSafety Commissioner broad authority to order platforms to restrict, hide, or remove content considered unsuitable for minors.
The definition of unsuitable is wide enough to cover commentary, essays, or creative writing that falls nowhere near criminal territory.
To comply, Substack now asks some Australian …

Firing Tucho is a benchmark for Leo XIV: New York canon lawyer and priest Gerald Murray is urging Pope Leo XIV to remove Cardinal Víctor “Tucho” Fernández as prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith. Speaking with journalist Raymond Arroyo, Rev Murray called Fernández’s recently resurfaced pornographic writings “a total disgrace” and “a horrendous production done by a priest”. Tucho is “completely unsuited to be a pastor of souls”.
Rev Murray recalled that Pope Francis justified Tucho’s earlier books as writings of a younger priest. However, the newly revealed books were written until 2009, when Tucho was aged 46: “If we were doing a profile, a criminal profile, about a sex abuser, and I’m not saying he is a sex abuser, but if you saw this literature coming out and you would say to yourself, ‘Well, it’s quite clear that the sex abuser got started a long time ago.’” The conclusion: “He should be fired.” And: “This is going to be a benchmark for Pope Leo XIV. Book of Zephaniah 3,1-2.9-13.
Thus says the Lord: "Woe to the city, rebellious and polluted, to the tyrannical city!
She hears no voice, accepts no correction; In the LORD she has not trusted, to her God she has not drawn near.
For then I will change and purify the lips of the peoples, That they all may call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one accord;
From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia and as far as the recesses of the North, they shall bring me offerings.
On that day You need not be ashamed of all your deeds, your rebellious actions against me; For then will I remove from your midst the proud braggarts, And you shall no longer exalt yourself on my holy mountain.
But I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly, Who shall take refuge in the name of the LORD;
the remnant of Israel. They shall do no wrong and speak no lies; Nor shall there be found in their mouths a deceitful tongue; They shall pasture and couch their flocks with none to disturb them. …

Our Lady of the New Advent - December 16th, 2025 | No Greater Delight
No Greater Delight is a daily Marian podcast meant to start the day with a Marian touch. After examining the Marian feasts celebrated throughout the world on a given day, Fr. Nate offers a brief reflection to help make our love for Our Lady concrete in daily living. The title "No Greater Delight" is inspired by a homily of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, wherein he expresses his joy in preaching about the Virgin Mother, even though he acknowledges the challenge of adequately praising her. Mary's greatness is beyond words. 0:00 Feasts of Mary Today 07:08 True Devotion to Mary WhatsApp Channel: Catholic Voice

Novena for Christmas
The O Antiphons (also known as the Great Advent Antiphons or Great Os) are antiphons used at Vespers during the Magnificat on the last seven days of Advent in Western Christian traditions.[1] They likely date to sixth-century Italy, when Boethius refers to the text in The Consolation of Philosophy. They subsequently became one of the key musical features of the days leading up to Christmas.
In the English-speaking world they are best known in their amalgamated form as the hymn "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel".
Sequence
Each text, in the original Latin, begins with the vocative particle "O". Each antiphon is a title of Christ, one of his attributes mentioned in Scripture. They are:
17 December: O Sapientia (O Wisdom)
18 December: O Adonai
19 December: O Radix Jesse (O Root of Jesse)
20 December: O Clavis David (O Key of David)
21 December: O Oriens (O Dawn of the East)
22 December: O Rex Gentium (O King of the Nations)
23 December: O Emmanuel

A Christmas Novena for the 9 Days before Christmas
December 16:
O Shepherd that rulest Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a sheep, come to guide and comfort us.
Recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory be.
December 17:
O Wisdom that comest out of the mouth of the Most High, that reachest from one end to another, and orderest all things mightily and sweetly, come to teach us the way of prudence!
Recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory be.
December 18:
O Adonai, and Ruler of the house of Israel, Who didst appear unto Moses in the burning bush, and gavest him the law in Sinai, come to redeem us with an outstretched arm!
Recite one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory be.
December 19:
O Root of Jesse, which standest for an ensign of the people, at Whom the kings shall shut their mouths, Whom the Gentiles shall seek, come to deliver us, do not tarry.

Blessed János Brenner: The “Hungarian Tarcisius” | Young Priest & Martyr for the Eucharist
Blessed János Brenner (1931–1957) was a young Hungarian Cistercian priest and martyr whose short life shone with extraordinary love for Jesus and the Eucharist. Ordained at just 24, he became known for his joyful youth ministry, drawing many young people back to the faith during a time of harsh communist persecution in Hungary. Because his ministry threatened the authorities, János was targeted. In 1957, he was deceived by a false request to bring Holy Communion to a sick person. On his way through the woods, he was ambushed and stabbed 32 times. He was found the next day, dead — still clutching the Eucharist he had been carrying to the supposed dying person. For this reason, he is lovingly called the “Hungarian Tarcisius,” after the early Christian martyr who died protecting the Blessed Sacrament. Beatified by Pope Francis in 2018, Blessed János is a powerful witness to courage, purity of …More

Jimmy Lai found guilty by the Chinese of violating their National Security Law. These are totally trumped up charges and a complete travesty. Pray for Jimmy Lai and his family.

Jimmy Lai Found "Guilty" - Hong Kong

Three Hong Kong judges found Jimmy Lai, 78, guilty under the National Security Law.
Hong Kong media tycoon and Catholic convert Jimmy Lai, 78, was found guilty on Monday of two counts of conspiracy to collude with foreign forces and one count of sedition under a Beijing-imposed national security law.
The founder of the now-defunct newspaper Apple Daily, had pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The offences carry a potential life sentence, with sentencing expected at a later date. Lai has been in custody since 2020.
The trial was heard by a panel of three judges without a jury, as permitted under the national security law, and has attracted worldwide attention. Critics argue that the case exemplifies the erosion of freedoms in Hong Kong.
The United Kingdom has strongly criticised the verdict. In a statement posted on X, Britain’s Foreign Office described the prosecution as politically motivated and said that Lai had been targeted for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression. …More

We remember our childhood years,
A joyful time, when snow reached our knees,
When we searched for the star in the sky.
Where are the children of those days?
Where is the joy we once knew?
Maybe it’s gone because we no longer want children,
Cats and dogs are enough for us now.
So say: “Merry Christmas, I love you” —
And that is enough,
Love will mend what has gone wrong.

Say: Merry Christmas – song

White Christmas, full of snow and frost —
That’s what we long for every year.
Beautiful trees and plenty of perfect gifts.
But is this what we truly want?
Is this the peak of all our dreams?
So say: “Merry Christmas, I love you” —
And that is enough,
Love will mend what has gone wrong.

White Christmas, full of snow —
Let it not turn into frost within our souls.
Let the glow of love warm our hearts,
Not the price of gifts
That will soon fill our trash bins.
So say: “Merry Christmas, I love you” —
And that is enough,
Love will mend what has gone wrong.
So say: “Merry Christmas” and hold me close —

There is something strange with the SSPX

I can't find one link from the SSPX showing the SSPX Chapels in Russia. Something is not right. I love the SSPX but they are not being honest when it comes to Russia. Not only that, but trying to search for a Chapel in Russia is impossible. They don't list even one, when I know there is at least two of them. Why don't they mention even one Chapel in Russia?
Josef Schuztman has mentioned the one he attends and I believe another one in Russia.
This is from a Russian site where they mention where the SSPX Chapels are. They list at least 3 in different cities. But not how many there are.
The largest number of Brotherhood followers are concentrated in France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The Superior General of the Brotherhood is the Italian priest Davide Pagliarani, who succeeded Bishop Bernard Fellay. The Brotherhood's chapels of St. Pius X are also located in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Minsk.

The strange thing about the SSPX is that they remain Catholic in this pagan world of ours.

Maria delos Angeles

I remember my Mother Superior asking me once if I wanted to join the SSPX in France when I was having issues with the convent I was in.., I had no tolerance of the Novus Ordo and apparently that was a problem. I thought, it being a more traditional kind of convent they would be more like-minded to me, but apparently, I was quite alone in my traditional thinking.. me and the chaplain, and he was having disagreements with the Superior over it all. most of the time there was a daily TLM there, approved by the diocese, but the Superior also made it clear in her view "the Mass was the Mass". The other sisters, whatever their true thoughts were on the matter, never made it explicit they were in tune with my way of thinking. A torturous situation to be in over the long term, in a Carmelite convent where no two convents are alike, and there is outright persecution in the worldwide Church going on over this very issue.
