Leo XIV on Middle East War: "A Tragedy of Enormous Proportions" Looms

At the Sunday Angelus in St. Peter’s Square, Leo XIV voiced deep concern over the escalating violence involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. He warned that the situation could lead to “a tragedy of enormous proportions” if hostilities continue.
“Stability and peace are not built through mutual threats, nor through weapons,” Leo XIV said, stressing that only “reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue” can bring lasting peace.
He urged all parties to assume their moral responsibility and halt the spiral of violence before it becomes an “irreparable abyss”. Calling for diplomacy to regain its central role, he emphasized the need to promote justice and peaceful coexistence.

Japan Wants to Confine Catholicism to Churches – Cardinal Kikuchi

There is a "polite persecution" of Christians in Japan, Cardinal Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi of Tokyo told CruxNow.com on February 28.
He said that religious activities are welcomed by the public "as long as they remain confined within their own premises, such as temples and churches".
The cardinal added that, due to the separation of religion and state, it is often argued that the church should refrain from speaking about political matters.
He continued: "Catholics in Japan sometimes find it difficult to even gather regularly on Sundays, not because of persecution, but because such consistent religious commitment does not easily fit within the broader cultural understanding of religion."
Public schools frequently organise events on Sundays. The Sunday is "a day for various activities that cannot be done during the week".
Cardinal Kikuchi, who is also president of Caritas Internationalis, said that the Catholic charity was asked "to avoid explicit Christian identification in order to prevent …More

Isn’t this what has happened in most Western countries? Pray and worship in private but don’t bring those beliefs to the public square.

Wait.
Trump is bombing Iran to prevent them from using the nuclear weapons that were l obliterated last year? Did I get that right?
Yeah. Epstein.
😒
Imagine being stupid enough to blame bombing a country because they're a "nuclear threat" while still having this up on your own website.

Most people think of Noah’s Ark as a feat of ancient engineering - a massive ship designed to survive a storm. But the Hebrew language tells a different story. In the entire Bible, the word tebah (ark) only appears twice:
1. For Noah in the Great Flood.
2. For baby Moses in a basket in the Nile.
Here's the part we usually miss: A tebah isn’t a ship. It’s a box. A ship has a rudder, a sail, and a helm. It’s designed to be navigated.
A tebah has none of those things:
No rudder: You can’t choose your direction.
No sail: You can’t catch the wind to speed things up.
By placing Noah in a giant box and Moses in a tiny basket, God was sending a clear message - safety isn't found in your ability to navigate, it's found in your willingness to surrender.
Noah wasn’t the captain - he was a passenger. Moses wasn’t a voyager - he was a miracle.
In a world obsessed with "taking the wheel" and "hustling for results," the tebah reminds us that the holiest thing you can do is stop pretending you’re …More

U.S. Bishop Prays Outside Abortion Clinic: "Not Yet Forbidden"

On 21 February, Monsignor Joseph Coffey (65), Auxiliary Bishop of the Military, along with several priests, the Sisters of Life and numerous other faithful, prayed fifteen decades of the rosary outside an abortion clinic in Philadelphia, USA. Over 6,000 abortions are performed there a year.
They were ridiculed, mocked and screamed at by a mob of militant activists on the opposite pavement. Due to the police presence, there was no physical violence.
Bishop Coffey told LifeSiteNews.com that he was there "for the babies when they die": "I hope that someday, maybe we can meet them in heaven and they can say, 'You were there, you were there with me when we died'."
He added that the police in the USA are not like those in England, who arrest people simply for praying outside abortion clinics: "We're not there yet, but we could be someday if we don't fight for our freedoms and rights."

"Those who hold the reins of government should not forget that it is the duty of public authority by appropriate laws and sanctions to defend the lives of the innocent, and this all the more so since those whose lives are endangered and assailed cannot defend themselves. Among whom we must mention in the first place infants hidden in the mother's womb. And if the public magistrates not only do not defend them, but by their laws and ordinances betray them to death at the hands of doctors or of others, let them remember that God is the Judge and Avenger of innocent blood which cried from earth to Heaven."

Bishop Schneider says some bishops are afraid to oppose Francis' moral magisterium

In the interview, Bishop Athanasius Schneider also enumerates several teachings of Pope Francis to which he himself says he cannot assent.
(LifeSiteNews) — In a live interview Thursday with longtime Vatican journalist Robert Moynihan, Bishop Athanasius Schneider revealed that he has spoken off the record with several bishops who have said that they do not submit in “mind and will” to the authentic magisterium of Pope Francis. Bishop Schneider added that the bishops he has spoken to “do not dare to say this” publicly but only in private.

“When I ask them personally, off the record, could you accept the switching of your mind on Amoris Laetitia, and the Communion for the divorced and so on, and they say ‘no,’ but publicly they don’t dare to say this,” Schneider told Moynihan.
The revelation is very significant because the Code of Canon Law (833.3) requires bishops to make the 1989 Profession of Faith, wherein they promise to “adhere with religious submission of will and intellect …More
