Bishop Patrick Neary of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, issued a diocesan warning against the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) after an unauthorized Mass was celebrated in the diocese. In a letter dated September 2, Bishop Neary said he had learned of a social-media post promoting a meeting at the restaurant Opole Pub to “explore bringing the Latin Mass” to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole. The same post advertised a Latin Mass for the following day at the Opole Ballpark Pavilion, part of the local baseball grounds. Monsignor Neary wrote that neither event was sanctioned by the diocese.
