Claire Lai, the daughter of 78-year-old Catholic convert Jimmy Lai, has spoken out for the first time about her father, who has been imprisoned under Hong Kong’s National Security Law for five years. The charge is “collusion with foreign forces.” According to Claire, her father is in rapidly declining health, suffering from diabetes, hypertension and infections, as well as severe weight loss. He lives in a windowless cell in heat, with no access to fresh air or sunlight. She says he has been denied regular medical care, the Eucharist and even his rosary. Yet his faith sustains him: he prays daily, reads the Gospel when permitted, and believes that God is with him. “He is innocent,” she says. “He has suffered enough. Unless something changes, he may become a martyr for freedom.”

An American tech company allegedly helped a foreign country plan a terrorist attack on a U.S.-allied nation, injuring nearly 4,000 people and killing children. The UN condemned the attack as a war crime. That company, Palantir, receives over half its funding from U.S. government contracts and holds $10 billion in U.S. Army contracts. In a just society, executives involved in such actions would face prison—not continued taxpayer funding. Who will hold them accountable?
Every time there’s a terrorist attack, politicians use it to cut back civil liberties. We saw it with the Patriot Act, which is still in place decades later. Tragedies are repeatedly used to justify permanent expansions of state power.
15. December 2025 15. December 2025 12/15/2025 Entire blog as a free PDF eBook. According to media reports, Florida is abolishing mandatory vaccinations for children in public schools. European media immediately stirred up panic. They argued that to prevent disease outbreaks from spreading directly from the US to Europe, vaccination rates in these countries must remain high. However, serious illnesses or even deaths from childhood diseases have become very rare. This is not, as is often claimed, due to vaccinations. The mortality figures of the last 130 years are clear: even before the advent of vaccination, measles deaths had already decreased by over 99 percent. Source. Once again, the scientific justification for the foundations of pseudoscience—applied vaccinology—which traces its origins back to Pasteur’s fraudulent practices, is crumbling in the face of the facts. The “proof” of the health benefits of vaccinations, disseminated worldwide for over a century and a half, is deeply …

Yesterday in the Cathedral of Buenos Aires: “In the chapel where the Tabernacle is, at 6.15 pm, there was a blessing of two lesbian women dressed as brides. I told the priest: One thing is accompaniment, but we can’t consent to sin, much less bless it. He replied: It’s pastoral.” — Father João Silveira (@joaosilveiraaa) December 11, 2025 “I told the priest: ‘One thing is accompaniment, but we can’t consent to sin, much less bless it.’ He replied, ‘It’s pastoral,’” Fr. Silveira said. He did not identify the priest who gave the blessing. “Heartbreaking. This Pastor is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He needs catechism 101 and sent on a retreat for …
While more than 10 million pilgrims filled the streets of Tepeyac for the 12 December celebrations honouring Our Lady of Guadalupe, a serious internal crisis has been unfolding at the Basilica in Mexico City. According to InfoVaticana (15 December), the rector, Canon Efraín Hernández Díaz, has been removed from office and placed under a canonical investigation ordered by the Archdiocese of Mexico. The move followed an unprecedented formal complaint by the Guadalupe chapter to Cardinal Carlos Aguiar Retes. The canons accuse the rector of opaque financial administration, lack of transparency and accountability, and of bypassing them. The chapter shares legal responsibility for overseeing the sanctuary. According to the canons, these practices endangered both the material assets and the spiritual mission of Mexico’s most important Marian shrine. In response, Cardinal Aguiar removed the rector on 20 September and ordered a preliminary canonical investigation, opened on 3 October. The …More
Advent and Christmas with the Church Fathers Introduction The proclamation of John the Baptist, fulfilled in the coming of Christ, reechoes throughout the time of Advent as an uninterrupted voice travelling from nation to nation and heart to heart. Hearing alone is insufficient to accept the invitation to prepare the way of the Lord; rather, an inner listening is necessary for the invitation to be effective in our lives and in the lives of others. Let us make time each day for an encounter with Christ so he will not run into the obstacles of boredom, sadness, sin, anxiety, superficiality, possessiveness, and greed.Origen, We find this passage from the Old Testament in the Book of the Prophet Isaiah: 'A voice cries out: / In the desert prepare the way of the Lord! / Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!' (Is 40:3). The Lord seeks to find in you a pathway to enter your soul and complete his journey; thus, prepare for him that path of which it has been written to 'make …
First part THE SECOND VATICAN COUNCIL: “THE JEWS ARE NOT CURSED BY GOD” The Declaration Nostra Aetate n. 4-h writes: "The Jews must not be presented as rejected by God, nor as accursed, as if this followed from Scripture." WHAT IS THE CURSE? St. Thomas Aquinas (S. Th., II-II, q. 76, a. 1) teaches that to curse means “malum dicere, that is, to speak of evil”. Now, this can happen: a) in the form of a simple enunciation of evil, that is, when one refers to the evil that one's neighbor has done. This is the sin of “detraction”, which is divided into “murmuring” and “slander” ( 1 ) and does not concern our question: “Whether Judaism is cursed by God”; or, the curse can happen b) in the form of an efficient or determining cause; that is, insofar as the curse produces the evil that it pronounces. For example, 1°) in a broad sense: “Deus dixit et omnia facta sunt / He said, and all was done” (Ps., XXXII, 9); while 2°) in a strict sense, Jesus cursed the fig tree and it immediately …More

Zephaniah 3:1-2, 9-13 “Ah! Rebellious and polluted, the tyrannical city!; In the Lord it has not trusted, nor drawn near to its God.” The root of a person’s evil, both against themselves and against others, is their failure to draw near to God and their turning away from Him. Matthew 21:28-32 He answered, “Yes, Lord!” but he did not go. Jesus presented himself as the Son who says “Yes, Lord,” and goes; he is present with us. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
Book of Numbers 24,2-7.15-17a. When Balaam raised his eyes and saw Israel encamped, tribe by tribe, the spirit of God came upon him, and he gave voice to his oracle: The utterance of Balaam, son of Beor, the utterance of the man whose eye is true, The utterance of one who hears what God says, and knows what the Most High knows, Of one who sees what the Almighty sees, enraptured, and with eyes unveiled: How goodly are your tents, O Jacob; your encampments, O Israel! They are like gardens beside a stream, like the cedars planted by the LORD. His wells shall yield free-flowing waters, he shall have the sea within reach; His king shall rise higher than. . . . and his royalty shall be exalted. Then Balaam gave voice to his oracle: The utterance of Balaam, son of Beor, the utterance of the man whose eye is true, The utterance of one who hears what God says, and knows what the Most High knows, Of one who sees what the Almighty sees, enraptured and with eyes unveiled. I see him, though not now …More
