The root cause of the abortion issue is so called "women's liberation." Politicians will pander to women until we reestablish Natural Law regarding gender roles. The 19th Amendment was disastrous. Restore proper male headship in the family and society and 90% of our modern "woke" issues will fade.

Jesus chose people of his time to send on a mission, such as Peter, John, and the other Apostles. The first to be evangelized are the Apostles. After Jesus’s resurrection, they are left to themselves, but they are not alone. Jesus has already breathed his Spirit upon them and they are sent into the world to join all nations, languages and peoples:
“Receive the Holy Spirit.” John, chapter 20, verse 22
Today, where we are, every person is called to share the Good News of our salvation in Jesus Christ. Jesus sends us as we are. We’re the people Jesus needs for our time and his Spirit will guide us to share what he wants the world to receive and hear. We are not alone. We: “receive the Holy Spirit,” says Jesus.
The only effort is to be sure we’re really listening to Jesus and his Spirit. For this we must become his disciples. We think we cannot be true disciples? We’re not perfect? The important thing is to stay close to Jesus. And he will guide us. Let’s accept to not be perfect. From our …More

QUESTION 74 — ALL THE DAYS OF CREATION
1. Are there enough?
2. Are they one day or several?
3. Some ways of speaking used by Scripture in its account of the six days.
Article 1 — Are there enough days?
Objections:
1.
It seems that the enumeration of these days is not sufficient. Indeed, the work of creation is no less different from works of distinction and ornamentation than these are from each other. Now, certain days are attributed to distinction, and others to ornamentation. So other days must still be assigned to creation.
2. Air and fire are nobler elements than earth and water. Now one day is assigned to the distinction of water, and another to the distinction of earth. Other days should therefore have been attributed to the distinction between fire and air. 3. Birds are no less distant from fish than from terrestrial beasts. Man is also more different from all animals than all other animals from each other. Now, a special day is assigned to the production of fish from the sea, …More

The Bishop of Ajaccio (France), Mgr François Xavier Bustillo OFMconv, who is also a Cardinal since September 2023, will be decorated with the "Legion of Honour" on 14 July, along with 521 other French individuals.
Bustillo will be promoted to the rank of "Knight of the Legion of Honour", the lowest rang. The decoration is awarded to civilians twice a year, in January and July.
"I am honoured, surprised and grateful", the regime media quote Bishop Bustillo: "I am not interested in power, but in serving everyone". Prelates who speak like this are often particularly ruthless with their clergy.
Bustillo explained that he has been a priest for 30 years, serving "the Church and society", and that he tries to be present "not only in Church life", but also "in social, cultural, economic and sporting life".
The decoration is strange for two reasons. First, one wonders why a servant of the Church would accept a secular award.
Secondly, this decoration is particularly despicable because it comes …More

Monsignor Silvio José Báez, 66, the Auxiliary Bishop of Managua, Nicaragua, left the country in 2019 to go into forced exile.
Before being appointed bishop in April 2009, Báez, who belongs to the Carmelite order, spent 30 years in Europe.
But in 2019, Francis asked the auxiliary bishop to leave Nicaragua for his own safety after he came into conflict with the government. "Francis literally told me that he didn't want another martyred bishop in Central America," Monsignor Báez told La Gaceta de Salamanca.
Báez now lives in Florida, United States.

Rev. Guilherme Peixotoa, known in Portugal as a DJ, will celebrate his 25th anniversary as a priest in a nightclub in Ibiza.
He was invited to DJ at Hï Ibiza on 11 July, in the middle of the island's high season. The event, called 'Afterlife', coincides with the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. "I can't believe such a big coincidence," he wrote on Instagram.com.
Before the closing Eucharist of World Youth Day (WYD) in Lisbon in the summer of 2023, he played some noisy electronic sounds.

Convicted felon is a label bestowed like a scarlet letter solely to shame another. The real shame is when it is used selectively as cover for one’s own inadequacies.
The famous New England author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, published The Scarlet Letter in 1850. In its time, it was a lurid Puritan New England soap opera that became classic American literature. In its pages, which shocked the Puritans of Hawthorne time, the young Hester Prynne was found to be with child, but the father was not her husband, a much older and morally ruthless Puritan man.
The real father was the Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale, the local Congregational minister. Refusing to reveal that truth, Hester Prynne was placed on display in the market square each day to be publicly shamed and shunned while adorned with a scarlet letter “A” for “adulterer” prominently on her dress. Nathaniel Hawthorne was well versed in the Puritan prejudices that shaped New England. His great grandfather was one of the three judges who presided …More

The Archbishop of San Francisco, Monsignor Salvatore Cordileone, has de facto asked the Vatican not to impose new restrictions on the Mass in the Roman Rite, writes NcRegister.com (9 July).
He praised the 3 July open letter to Francis from more than 40 British artists, musicians and politicians defending the Mass, comparing it to the support for Notre Dame de Paris cathedral after the devastating fire in 2019.
One of the signatories is well-known human rights activist Bianca Jagger. Cordileone emphasises the apolitical and non-ideological nature of the petition: "Surely 'rigidity' cannot explain such an extraordinary and diverse outpouring of love for this liturgical form".
His key point: the Holy Mass inspires beauty and has attracted support even from non-believers who understand the crucial role of beauty in the creation of Western civilisation.
The only downer: apparently concerned about his own reputation, Cordileone places himself in a non-existent middle ground between two supposed …More

Two young Syrian twin brothers, both Franciscans of the Custody of the Holy Land, have been ordained priests in Aleppo, Syria, their hometown.
Father Johnny and Father George Jallouf, after completing their studies in Jerusalem, returned to Syria where they were ordained on 6 July by the Latin Apostolic Vicar of Aleppo, Monsignor Hanna Jallouf.
Monsignor Jallouf, 71, is also a Franciscan of the Custody of the Holy Land and the uncle of the two brothers. He was consecrated a bishop only in September 2023.
The twin brothers grew up in the parish of St Francis in Aleppo, where they served as altar boys and then animated youth groups.
During the ordination ceremony, their hands were anointed with chrism oil and bound with a piece of white linen (manuterge).
Custodia.org writes that according to an "ancient tradition" it was the mother of the new priests who untied the cloth, dried the hands of her sons and kissed them for the first time, followed by her husband.
This cloth is kept by the …More

Praise be to God! This glorious celebration would not - COULD NOT - have happened if President Bashar al-Assad had given in and surrendered to the Islamic thugs who attempted to hijack his nation. Such a wonderful thing as we see here would never have been possible if he had allowed the crazed terrorists and murderers the wherewithal to win and thrive, as the U.S. and all of the West attempted to coerce him into doing, urging him to abdicate and concede authority and control of his nation into the foul, psychotic hands of those killers, who in their bloodthirsty madness, only wanted to literally rip Syria asunder as a part of their diabolical and deranged plot to utterly destroy the country. Against all odds, he held his nation together and heroically defended it against the dogs who sought to obliterate Syria and drown her in a whirlpool of death and blood. Even as most of the so-called "civilized" world stood against him (with, of course, the exception of Russia), he fought on …More
