Those are the ones he seeks approval from and clamors to please. And anyway, if he would have attempted to offer his resignation, Pope Francis would never have accepted it, just like he didn’t accept the resignation of Cardinal Marx when he offered his. These are the types of sycophants the Holy Father chooses to surround himself with and the ones whom he chooses to appoint and empower to do his bidding. That will not change, regardless of how embarrassing or degenerate their backgrounds are, or what abominations they presently commit, or any gross evils they are found to have previously committed.
