Saint Ulric of Augsburg - Feast Day: July 4 Saint Ulrich of Augsburg (c. 890 – 4 July 973), sometimes spelled Uodalric or Odalrici, was Bishop of Augsburg in Germany. He was the first saint to be canonized not by a local authority but by the Pope.[1] Magyars repeatedly attacked in the territories of Bavaria and Swabia. Ulrich served as general in the defense of Augsburg. He built a stone wall fortification around the city. During these attacks many churches and buildings were destroyed, which Ulrich later rebuilt. Ulrich attended several imperial meetings and synods, such as at Ingelheim in 948, Augsburg 952, Rome in 972 and again at Ingelheim in 972. Soon after, the Magyars entered Germany, plundering and burning as they went, and advanced as far as Augsburg, which they besieged. It was due to Ulrich's ability and courage that Augsburg was able to hold out against the besiegers until the Emperor Otto arrived. During the siege of Augsburg (955), he sustained the courage of …More
White House officials have dismissed the movement’s complaints as “blown out of proportion,” arguing that pro-life voters will continue to support Republicans as the only viable alternative.31 Total abortion numbers have actually increased since the fall of Roe, a fact that underscores the movement’s frustration with the administration’s approach.31
On 2 July, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, the Nuncio to the Baltic States, spoke to Corriere.it about the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X and the Mass in the Roman rite. Key quotes, slightly shortened - The FSSPX has become even more hardline. It's unbelievable - truly sad. - Their understanding of tradition is not tradition. They freeze Catholic tradition at Pius XII. After that, they see nothing but errors. - Benedict XVI lifted the excommunications of the four bishops as a father seeking peace. It was an outstretched hand they refused. The radical faction prevailed—they rejected reconciliation then and still do. - They are like the Protestants of five centuries ago. Cardinal Müller is right. - I am very disappointed. Grace can do anything over time, but for now I see even greater distance and deeper hardening than before. "Leo XIV Should Allow the Traditional Roman Mass" - There are faithful who celebrate the Latin rite—for example, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter—and they do …More
E Pluribus Algae: Why Green Pond Scum Is as American as Red, White and Blue And why the most patriotic approachto the Reflecting Poolmaybe to let the algae take over. By Alan Burdick Alan Burdick is a science editor and reporter. He joined The Times in 2018. July 3, 2026 I went to the Reflecting Pool because, as a certain American naturalist once said of a different pond, I wished to “live deliberately” and “see if I could not learn what it had to teach.” I doubted that it had much left to say. The Reflecting Pool, the half-mile-long, knee-deep mirror of water that runs to the foot of the Lincoln Memorial, has become our nation’s latest national metaphor. In early June, it became choked with algae after President Trump ordered it to be drained, repainted “American flag blue” and refilled. Soon the paint began peeling away in large flakes. The pundits came like flapping carp: The pool, they said, reflected presidential vanity, or corruption, or ineptitude, or a tasty paradox (the …More

"O Jerusalem, city of gold decorated with the purple of the King, O edifice of the highest good, you are a light that has never been obscured, decorated with the dawn, in the heat of the sun. O blessed boyhood, reddening in the dawn, and O blessed youth, burning in the sun."

Songs for Saint Rupert [According to the Life of Hildegard by Gottfried of Disibodenberg and Theoderich of Echternach, the call to Move from Disibodenberg came to Hildegard in a vision, accompanied by a bout of illness in which she remained until she consented to reveal what the vision had said to her. The place to which she felt called was the Rupertsberg, or Mount St Rupert, a site on a large hill overlooking what is now the modern town of Bingen in the Rhine Valley. At the time of Hildegard’s move in 1150, there was just an old ruined chapel dedicated to the eighth-century saint, while the rest of the area was cultivated as a vineyard. Rupert’s original monastery had been destroyed …More

Clash Report @clashreport Germany's Chancellor Merz: We can no longer accept the extraordinarily high levels of sick leave in our companies. We are abolishing sick leave by telephone and introducing the requirement to submit a medical certificate from the very first day of illness. We know this is a tough decision. But we can no longer afford this competitive disadvantage caused by prolonged absences from work.
Never thought that this would be how it would manifest. Conditional prophecies suggested that they would be the enemy but it is in fact the western leaders goading and provoking Russia constantly.
I meant to add that's my opinion about them stepping up their attacks in Russia. It's how I see it. Also some people were asked if they think Putin will start to attack other countries weapon factories. They all agreed not at all. Putin tries to make peace. He wants nothing to do with war. I left a list of people I listen to awhile back. We can learn so much from them. History, what's going on etc.
St. Anthony the Great ~ Intelligent men have no need to listen to much talk, but should attend only to that which is profitable and guided by God's Will.

03.07.2026 ARCHBISHOP VIGANO MUST APPEAL AGAINST ERRORS IN HIS SCHISM- TRIAL : VATICAN COUNCIL II RATIONAL IS NO MORE AN ISSUE FOR THE TRADITIONALISTS. Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano has asked for a meeting with Pope Leo and has said that he is not in schism. The former Italian Nuncio could appeal against errors in his schism-trial. Doctrinally the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) does not have a continuity with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Holy Office) before 1949. The baptism of desire for example, referred to an invisible case over the centuries. It is common sense. So the baptism of desire was not an explicit exception for the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) of the Council of Florence 1442, which did not mention any exceptions for EENS, in its text. But for Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, Archbishop Joseph Kennedy and Pope Francis, Vatican Council II is a rupture with the dogma EENS. They imply that LG 14 (baptism of desire) is an explicit …More

" Wherefore, when the soul knows herself, as we have said above, she finds humility and hatred of her own sensual passion, for she learns the perverse law, which is bound up in her members, and which ever fights against the spirit. And, therefore, arising with hatred of her own sensuality, crushing it under the heel of reason, with great earnestness, she discovers in herself the bounty of My goodness, through the many benefits which she has received from Me, all of which she considers again in herself. She attributes to Me, through humility, the knowledge which she has obtained of herself, knowing that, by My grace, I have drawn her out of darkness and lifted her up into the light of true knowledge."
'About the Love of God and the Love of a Neighbor' ~ [Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; born: Siena, Republic of Siena/died: Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church] How virtues are accomplished by means of our neighbour and how it is that virtues differ to such an extent in creatures. " I have told thee how all sins are accomplished by means of thy neighbour, through the principles which I exposed to thee, that is, because men are deprived of the affection of love, which gives light to every virtue. In the same way self-love, which destroys charity and affection towards the neighbour, is the principle and foundation of every evil. All scandals, hatred, cruelty, and every sort of trouble proceed from this perverse root of self-love, which has poisoned the entire world, and weakened the mystical body of the Holy Church, and the universal body of the believers in the Christian religion ; and, therefore, I said …More
