Leo XIV “largely continues the post-conciliar revolution,” Edward Pentin said October 3 at the Catholic Identity Conference in Pittsburgh.
“Pope Leo… is very much a continuity figure, continuing the post-conciliar course mapped out by Pope Francis,” Pentin said. While Leo has “changed the tone for the better,” his improvements remain “largely symbolic and small scale.”
Pentin said he has “often heard in recent months in Rome” that many around Leo “helped him get elected precisely so he might continue the revolution.”
On Leo XIV’s emphasis on unity, Pentin said the pontificate has avoided many “neuralgic issues” by “essentially not talking about them.”
He added that “what is unacceptable among the Church’s leadership is fidelity to the Church’s doctrine and tradition”.
Pentin said some call Leo XIV’s priority a “false peace and false unity,” and cited two anonymous Roman priests warning against unity through silence about error.

Saint Francis of Assisi: logic, calm, firmness, contemplation, purity, chivalrous spirit
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
Francis of Assisi died on October 3, 1226, centuries after Saint Benedict (480-547), of whom he was a great admirer and fervent devotee. One day, he decided to visit the monastery of Subiaco to venerate Saint Benedict.
This fresco, the work of an anonymous 13th-century painter, is the oldest representation of the "Poverello of Assisi" and is in the Chapel of Saint Gregory, in the cave of Subiaco. It was painted during the saint's lifetime, before he received the stigmata.
This portrait of Saint Francis of Assisi is found in one of the caves of Subiaco. It seems marvelous to me! It depicts a man of about 30 years old.
Assisi is in central Italy (Umbria), but in this depiction, he looks more like a Nordic human type; his physiognomy reveals something Germanic, slightly blond, with light eyes, and a slightly pinkish mustache and beard.

Italian Archbishop celebrates priestly ordination wearing sandals without socks.
On 14 June 2026, Archbishop Paolo Giulietti of Lucca, Italy, ordained Emanuele Martinelli and Samuele Ghiselli to the priesthood at the Cathedral of San Martino in Lucca. Photographs of the ceremony show Archbishop Giulietti presiding in liturgical vestments while wearing sandals without socks.

If one is a Franciscan or a Capuchin, that is maybe tolerated. But this just shows how slovenly some clerics treat liturgical matters.

A Treasure Chest of Inspiration
Three years ago, The Cenacle Press at Silverstream Priory, republished an incredible book from 1942 titled “Just For Today.” It is a compilation of 365 daily quotations from Saint Therese, matched with excerpts from The Imitation of Christ (which she had thoroughly memorized as a young girl.) The author/compiler is listed as a Benedictine of Stanbrook, Worcester. And, as the Introduction by The Right Reverend Monsignor Ronald Knox says, it is like a string of pearls pulled out of two treasure chests, perfectly matched.
Since October 3rd is St Therese’s traditional feast day, I though I should recommend “Just For Today” to the Gloria.tv members. Like many others, I’ve read through The Imitation many times, but the presentation in this book is done with such inspiration, that I find precious gems from The Imitation that I had completely over-looked before.
Truly, the most “converting” biography of St. Therese was written by Rev. Canon Thomas N. Taylor;…More

Your Guardian Angel Chose You Personally
Every person has a unique guardian angel, chosen by the angel themselves, who has been with them since conception. This angel, a messenger between God and humanity, aims to lead their charge to heaven while respecting their free will. Despite challenges and misunderstandings, the angel remains faithful, working towards the individual’s ultimate good, as exemplified in the story of Job.
Guardian angels are always present, battling for us and leading us to heaven, but they respect our free will and require our invitation to intervene more directly. By praying, asking for help, and opening our hearts, we can allow our guardian angels to work extraordinary things in our lives, guiding us to God’s will and truth. Naming our guardian angels is discouraged as it implies authority over them, contradicting their role as our protectors and guides.

Argentine bishop, a Synod Father, punished after canonical judicial process over allegations of abuse.
Auxiliary Bishop Ricardo Seirutti, 70, of Córdoba, Argentina, has been punished by the Church following a canonical judicial process concerning complaints from two adults over conduct officially described as “improper to his episcopal ministry.”
Monsignor Seirutti also served as vicar general of the Archdiocese of Córdoba.
Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in 2015. In 2018, he participated as a voting Synod Father in the Synod of Bishops on Young People. He represented the Argentine episcopate.
According to the Archdiocese of Córdoba, complaints from two adults led the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith to order a canonical judicial process before the Interdiocesan Tribunal of Buenos Aires.
The proceedings concluded in recent weeks with sanctions against Bishop Seirutti.
He has been deprived of his offices as auxiliary bishop and vicar general. For five years, he is …More

The last letter from Fr Gruner April 30, 2015
Message from Fr. Gabriel Amorth to Fr. Nicholas Gruner
Father Gruner's Newsletter - March 12, 2015 (Feast of Saint Gregory the Great)
I recently returned from Rome, where I went to attend the February installation of the new cardinals. But while I was there something unexpected happened, something soul-shaking that I did not expect!
I spoke with Father Gabriel Amorth, the world's most famous living exorcist. His words shook me as few things ever have!
Father Amorth told me that we have but a Short-Time left before the chastisements predicted by Our Lady of Fatima begin to rip our world apart in ways we can hardly imagine!
How Long? Less Than 8 Months!
Father Gabriel Amorth told me that unless the consecration of Russia is performed as our Lady had asked that by the end of October 2015, the dark prophecies of Fatima may well come to pass any day after that!
Why did Father Gabriel Amorth tell this to me? So that Our Lady's Apostolate will raise …More

Leo XIV approved it and ordered its publication. It is dated September 16, the memorial of Saints Cornelius and Cyprian. I do not know whether the authors noticed the irony: St. Cyprian is the Father who bequeathed to the Church the formula salus extra Ecclesiam non est. Bishop Corrado Sanguineti of Pavia is the frontrunner to become the next Archpriest of St Peter’s Basilica - succeeding Cardinal Mauro Gambetti.
Writing for IlGiornale.it, Nico Spuntoni says Bishop Sanguineti is now in “pole position” for the post following Gambetti’s departure.
Other names floated in recent weeks include former papal master of ceremonies Archbishop Guido Marini, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, Archpriest of the Basilica of St Mary Major.
Leo XIV knew Sanguineti before his election to the papacy through Pavia, home to the tomb of St Augustine. The two celebrated a Eucharist together there in February 2024.
Sanguineti was also received by Leo XIV in a private audience at the Vatican in early September.

Argentine Father Carlos Miguel Buela, who died in 2023, had long been under suspicion of alleged sexual abuse of seminarians.

Vatican: late IVE founder Carlos Miguel Buela responsible for homosexual offences.
The Vatican has publicly addressed the long-running case of Argentine priest Carlos Miguel Buela, founder of the Institute of the Incarnate Word (IVE).
The case began formally in May 2020, when Cardinal Santos Abril y Castelló established a Special Penal Tribunal to examine allegations against Buela.
After hearing the accused, his lawyer and numerous witnesses, the tribunal issued its judgment on 20 July 2021. It found that Buela had committed offences against the sixth commandment in relation to five male members of the Institute.
Buela appealed.
A Special Penal Tribunal of Appeal was subsequently constituted and conducted additional investigations, including further testimony from Buela and witnesses proposed by his defence.
On 30 March 2023, the appellate judges deliberated and voted to confirm the first tribunal’s finding concerning the five cases. Before the appellate judgment could be formally drafted …More
