The Vatican is preparing an unprecedented bistro on the large terrace above St Peter’s Basilica. The project would reuse former storage rooms once used by the Sampietrini, the basilica’s maintenance staff. According to LaSicilia.it, furniture and fittings have already been delivered, suggesting the work is well advanced. A small bar already operates on the terrace, and the planned bistro would expand this service as part of the basilica’s gradual musealization.
