France rings its church bells for Leo XIV. Sound on! At 10:00 a.m. today, church bells across France rang out to welcome Pope Leo XIV, who had just arrived at Paris-Orly Airport to begin his four-day Apostolic Journey to France. Churches nationwide were invited to ring their bells for seven minutes as a symbolic welcome. Today in Paris, Leo XIV meets French President Emmanuel Macron, visits UNESCO, celebrates Vespers at Notre-Dame Cathedral and joins young people for an evening prayer vigil at the Stade de France.

Cologne’s Catholic city treasurer Dörte Diemert and pro-abortion Protestant Green politician Katrin Göring-Eckardt, a former Vice President of the German Bundestag, are preaching together at an ecumenical service at Cologne Cathedral at 4:45 p.m. today. Göring-Eckardt told the 'Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger': “I think it’s good for a Catholic house like this to have women take such a prominent role. Peter and Paul in Pécs, Hungary, to mark World Gratitude Day on September 21.
