We the laity, on the other hand have option to lead contemplative lives if God so allows, and we can live the Faith in ways purer in some sense than the Religious, via loopholes in the Canon Law etc. SOMEONE needs to strive for and maintain those graces which are out of the reach of the ordained and religious, because they are instrinsically part of the problem and so that we can do as the Lord says to complete what is lacking in His Passion, so the whole Body will be complete , entire, lacking nothing; and also that no man can glory in his own excellence, because the truth is, we are all subject to one another in spirit and in truth.
